Cullen has poor luck
He’s as oblivious as a truck
But when it counts
He will announce
That our Knight Captain is no lame duck

Okay I like this one a bit better :P

hay guise c:

Not sure if you remember me, but a few months ago I posted some shizzle on here. I stopped coming on because I lost interest in the DA fandom (NOT COMPLETELY, I JUST --- SOMETIMES I REALLY LIKE SOMETHING THEN I FOCUS MORE ON ANOTHER THING I LIKE, YKNOW? I'd never abandon DA how dare you think that i should slap you)

back then i kept asking questions so i wanna ask another one (god im so sorry) does anyone else here have a headcanon for hawke and the warden like i do?

oh god i have this weird headcanon where the warden, hawke, and the inquisitor (and other future protagonists) are all the same person - which is pretty much a person with omnipresence (ability to be everywhere at once) and reincarnation abilities.

AAGGGHH I DON'T EVEN KNOW I'M A VERY UNORIGINAL PERSON AND MAKE MY PCS LOOK SIMILAR AS TO WHAT THEY WERE IN THE PREVIOUS GAME. i've even been naming them after numbers to symbolize what life cycle they're on.

gosh i made up this completely world-ruining plot where the warden/hawke/etc was an unrecorded magister of old in her/his (despite all the magisters being men-- NOT TO MENTION DARKSPAWN, god dammit) first life, and because of the crap she/he helped caused she developed spells to pretty much make her/him omnipresent and near-immortal. So she/he reincarnates into different people - elf, dwarf and human alike - to make up for what she/he did. and the reason she's/he's been disappearing is because she's/he's focusing more on her/his current life than her/his past.

so the warden disappeared because she/he became hawke, and hawke disappeared because she's/he's becoming the inquisitor. that's my headcanon until it's explained why the heroes disappear, anyhow.

It's dumb, and mary-sue, and destroys the plot, but idk i like coming up with backstories like that, do you guys do it too? be honest i feel like a huge dork right now.

also sorry for the long post i hope it doesn't destroy your brain cells too much

Sorta like Doctor Who? ... Or Flemeth lol.

I like to pretend that Varric was actually Hawke and that all the companions in DA2 were just the names of his weapons he used to kill the Qunari/Meredith/etc during the 10 years he was in Kirkwall lol.

lmao! Wouldn't that be a treat? At the end of the series, to find out it was all just one huge elaborate story by Varric. Image IPB

Not as involved as that no, but it's interesting :D

I always come up with some happily ever after story for my characters. My Warden and Morrigan are off raising their son whereas Hawke is off with Isabela maxing and relaxing since he's "getting to old for this shizz" and I felt like he even more than my Warden needed a break,

It's not even that I try to give them happy endings because I truly believe they enjoy adventuring to a certain degree, but I just try to give them a break in between the game they appear in and when we next see them.

I also quite like the idea that Cullen was actually Hawke and that he just came up with the name as a way to get things done in Kirkwall behind Meredith's and the Templar Orders back. Sorta like the whole Bruce Wayne/Batman thing.

"By day he's a mild mannered, seemingly oblivious Knight Captain of the Templar Order. But by night he's "Hawke", Champion of Kirkwall and vigilante of righteousness!"

oh thank goodness, at least you have headcanons, that's a start c:

also i've never really watched Doctor Who-- agraghrgafe but the idea of Varric making everything up is hilarious. And plausible.

Maybe Varric is the Maker and he just makes stuff happen for a good story. Can we get a verification from the devs on that please?

It wouldn't be the first time it was revealed that a story-teller is actually god (i'm looking at you, Supernatural.) I hope that the inquisitor has a happy ending, or at least the choice to get a happy ending. With no sudden disappearance.

Varric

please

I don't have any crazy shenanigan headcanons. I just headcanon what my canon Hawke is like around the home, or what he did during those mystery years we didn't get to see. I liked to headcanon that he helped Fenris finally clean up his pad -- possibly with dancing around the place involved, and that he lost every single game of cards he played with Isabella but still went back for more 'cause he's a glutton for punishment, and he totally loitered around the guard's place just to bother his favourite Guard Captain...

And he helped out around Ander's clinic, because he's a Spirit Healer and someone needs to be the Spirit Healer since Anders lost those spells...

I, personally, don't mind the disappearances and am actually quite interested in what kind of plot point they're leading to. I think what Leliana said at the end of DA II made it obvious the disappearances 'can't be just a coincidence' and that strange things are afoot!

I BET IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH FLEMETH THAT SLY FOX

I'm just a sucker for happy endings, obviously not ending with like, sunshine and double rainbows, but at least something that shows that the protagonist/companions are alive and that they still keep in contact. Even a little bit. D:

Something about going through a whole adventure with a group of people only to be separated at the end of it all makes me depressed. then opens the floodgates of fan tears

AGH EVERY DAY THAT GOES BY THAT DA:I ISN'T IN MY LIFE FEELS LIKE A WEEK. I HATE WAITING FOR GAMES I'M A REALLY IMPATIENT PERSON, MAN D;

Flemeth... she can steal my protagonists whenever she wants, so long as I get to learn more about her plot. I find her so ridiculously facinating and awesome.

As for fan tears... the writer's pit feeds on those, you know!

A happy ending for me is my protagonist being with his or her LI and other companions, if s/he can't be with all the companions then just the LI will do, and that seems to be what I got even if they disappeared. I think the Awakening slides mention the LI disappearing with the Warden? And Varric mentions the LI never left Hawke's side. So I'm good.

Looks like it's going to be revolving around Mass Effect for the most part. Saturday will be the day to watch for anything Dragon Age related it seems. Wish I was going, either way.

Yeah seems like the only thing that might be promising is that "Unlocking Thedas" ... which I assume is just gonna be promo stuff for the World of Thedas.

It's all about the money, Lebowski ... with BW lately. Who here is tired of them talking about their comics, t-shirts, and other paraphernalia...?

I'm a little late to the discussion, so I might be taking the thread back to an old topic, but...

http://blog.bioware....inal-Cover.jpg

It actually looks like Morrigan is getting a proper top/bra here? That's definitely not the little string thing she had before, anyway. It just happens to be white... I think, if they're changing her string thing to a bra for real, I'd like it in a darker colour. White doesn't seem like Morrigan, I guess?

(And please tell me mages will get a flaming hand spell. That looks kind of badarse.)

The artist was saying that he drew the spell that way originally before he was even working on DA as a way to visually represent that magic isn't something that mages can completely control. So I don't think we'll get a fire-hand spell. Image IPB

Though I agree that that would be awesome. Can you imagine sicing your opponents with a bunch of flamedy ghost-hands from the fade? I would pee myself and never cross a mage again as long as I lived!!!

On protagonist customization: it'll be a lady, and she'll probably have red hair. For some reason I can never manage to make a protagonist that doesn't have red hair. Thank goodness Bioware gives us 3-4 different shades of ginger or I'd never be able to tell my Hawke's apart! (downside to the voiced protagonist: once I played through DAII the first time I couldn't handle playing Hawke again with a different face. I had to go into the Black Emporium and snap cell-phone pictures of my customization sliders to copy for every new playthrough).

Honestly I haven't really had to use Headcanon on hardly anything until ME3. Up until that point most of what was done was sufficient enough for me to be happy with the endings of each protaganist. The Warden and Alistair went on to have lots o'babies and well Hawke...I just pictured doing viscount shenanigans with her companions still checking in once in a while. The ending of DA2 kinda screwed with my headcanon a little but that is ok, I can always work around it.
ME1 and ME2 were fine, no need for headcanon, but ME3.... there was no way in the world I was going to allow such an ending to be canon, I had to fix it with my own imagination because it was just too bad. Such a good series.

I honestly can't think of how the Warden and Hawke will be used in the next one, since that cliffhanger was pretty brutal. I hope they don't kill them off or something because it just wouldn't help with replayability in my own opinion. It would definitely make me whince and then get sad because I have no control over something like that, it would suck if they killed them off. But honestly I have no idea, I probably know the least amount of information about DA3 compared to these guys in the forum :)

I might be misunderstanding this but are you saying that if you buy the World of Thedas it will unlock game content? Like with Legends and stuff for DA2?

I think she's just talking about the "Unlocking Thedas" portion of the Bioware activities at PAX (which Wiedzmin posted) and how it will focus on promo stuff for the "World of Thedas". Because Bio wants, you know, for the book to be...  $ucce$$ful. Image IPB

Yes lol That's what I meant. To be fair if I wrote a book I'd want it to earn oodles, too lol

My headcanons are boring. The Warden and Zevran go off to have adventures (screw you, Awakening). Hawke and Fenris retire to live in a cabin somewhere in the woods and adopt an elf mage child. As for ME, Shepard awakens and is reunited with Kaiden, la la la, happily ever after.

See, boring :P
