Samara: Is it gonna be a Cullen fic, where he kicks seven shades of sh!t out of some rapey Templars?
It will be but Cullen is a bit traumatized at first.

I like that idea. Knowing that you had a quantifiable effect on him, as opposed to the vague sense that you *might* have influenced Cullen, if you squint and turn your head just the right way.LolaLei wrote...
I wonder if DA3 will re-introduce the "hardening" option from DA:O, I quite like the idea though I think it should take more than one incident to make the said companion "toughen up," I also think it would be kinda cool to be able to "soften" a companion. So, for example, Cullen is still being a bit hard faced towards mages and over the course of the game you can encourage him to change his mind or perhaps his general outlook on life is quite sensible and he restricts himself, throughout the game you could encourage him to lighten up, relax a little and learn to have fun.

Hey everyone. I'm still around. Sorry for not posting for awhile. My fiance is still at my house, so I've been playing other games and still attending my summer class at college. I haven't worked on my drawing or much of my fan fiction; I did just update it by merging another chapter with the third chapter on fanfiction.net.

Yeah. It's been hard to get here all the time the past few days. =/ I'm nearly done with that bunny that bit me yesterday. Still can't believe I've written it. I'm about to get to the badass!Cullen part, so I'm excited about that. How are you?

Hm, just found this comment in the "Templar for DA3 companion" thread:
DA3 is supposedly going to occur after the events of Origins and DA2. So therefore Cullen is old and out of shape to be a teammate."
Do you suppose this guy could be right? Has DG or one of the other devs mentioned something about when the game is supposed to be set that I don't know about?

Awesome, I've been looking forward to reading it!
I'm good, kinda bored it's been a slow weekend. How's yours going?

Do you suppose Cullen will be too old? At least to old for a love interest? Even if he was something stupid like 18 in DA:O he'd still be getting on a bit if it is set 5 years after DA2.

Naaaah! If he was 18 in DAO, thus being about 28 in DA2, and the wait is five years (or hell even 10 years) he'd be still in a good range. Look at Loghain! Many still found him hot and he was in his 40s. I think. If Cullen were 32-42, I would still hit that. But I'm hardly one totalk: my husband is 18 years older than me...
And Cullen will be hot for some time to come. This is fact.

True, and Kaidan in ME3 is in his early 30's in ME1 and is about 35-36 in ME3 'n' he's still kicking arse and looks good doing it! I reckon it'll be set a year or two after Kirkwall, enough time for things to get bad war wise but not so long into it that we miss all the good stuff.

Agree with the above. Unless DA3 is set decades in the future, Cullen will only be in his 30s - 40s. And that's all fine by me. Even if the new PC is a 20-something ingenue, I think it's fine. Anders was older than Hawke, and that didn't seem to be a problem for the fandom.
EDIT: I used to have a problem with this, in the sense that as of Act 3 he's like a level 25-ish character. So for DA3, they'd have to reset him somehow. But they also did that with Anders.

Speaking of which, did I imagine it or did David Gaider or one of the others mention that the art style of DA3 would be similar if not the same as DA2?
... I feel like I saw it somewhere, but it could have just been on here in one of the speculation threads?
