Ok, here's a really exciting exchange between Allan Schumacher and David Gaider in one of the DA3 import threads:

Allan:
"We're exploring ways to enable "import" decisions in a way that is a bit more accommodating for fans.

An issue with our current import process is that small, often unobservable bugs, or even just design decisions, in the original game that don't affect that game can cause issues with a genuine save game import in the new game.  This came up with DA2 (and probably ME2/3 as well).  So we're exploring other solutions and seeing if there's a better way of doing things.

What we come up with will be revealed in more detail when it's been locked down and we start ramping up with DA3 news (which I know people are anxious for hahaha.

I'm a jerk."

Random BSN user: "Can't wait for that burst of information about DA3."

Allan: "Me neither to be honest. I think we have some stuff that will make a whole heck of a lot of people squee."

David Gaider: "There are some people I really don't need to see squeeing. But squee they shall, yeah. :)"

Gosh, I hope DG is refering to us squeeing lol. I'm pretty sure no one would wanna see us go into full squee-mode if Cullen was announced as a romanceable companion LOL!

HOLY-- SHEHGHHGEAAEGHAGEH

I'm excited just from that conversation i'll probably die when they start to announce stuff.

then i'll die, be resurrected with blood magic and die again if they announce Cullen as a romance option.

oh, do they actually announce romance options before the game? if so, i didn't know they did that

also, thanks you gaiz c: i love this thread almost as much as i love bacon. and Cullen. Cullen and bacon. This thread is like, DA heaven, because at least one of us finds something about DA:I  i think when information finally comes out, this thread will be the first to jump onto it

Lol, if there's news to be had you can bet your arse that it's us who finds out first. There's information in here that the rest of the forum aren't even aware of! They'll never find it though, the Cullen-ness puts them all off (mwahahaha!)

For DA2 apparently they released a couple (if not all) the romanceable companions on Valentines Day, which was a month or so before the actual games release. I dunno if they'll do that again this time round, given all the crap that went with DA2 'n' stuff. They seem to be doing it differently this time round.

Yes, I do look fwd to getting to know him better.

And hopefully he's been off the lyrium sauce for a few years (end of DA2..there abts?).

I'm hoping he's still on it, or maybe is in the process of trying to come off it/can't get hold of any. I mean, he's a Templar so the lyrium addiction and subsquent outcome of taking it for years is something that the protagonist will need to be prepared to take on-board if he/she plans to romance him. Plus, it's added drama/angst/layer to his character.

There's part of me that hopes Cullen stopped taking it years ago.  If he is still taking it then he would have been taking it for an awfully long time (if he's in is mid 30s in DA3).  Lyrium withdrawal would be very unpleasant.
I remember that Templar in Howe's dungeon (Irminric) and he was in a bad state of withdrawal, almost to the point of insanity.

In the Asunder novel, Evangeline said she'd only last about a week or two without lyrium if she were to run out, and then she'd be useless or something. (I can't remember her precise words).

Ok, here's another DG post from the same thread:

how long do they gonna wait? until it becomes june or what?

"Possibly, or even longer. That's the problem with mentioning even a vague date-- some people think that's a promise. Back when it was mentioned, that may have even been the idea... but things change. And when we say "the earliest you'll hear more", we do for honest to goodness certain mean "the earliest."

You could be waiting a while. Or it could be right around the corner. We're not saying."

Also, Allan Schumacher says that he's passed on a lot of ideas that he considers to be good or interesting to Mike Laidlaw to consider etc. It's good to know that they do listen to BSN users that actually have decent ideas, I always thought that the good stuff got lost in the torrents of **** that gets posted daily.

Well, we've got just over a week until April. At least the months are flying by relatively quickly. I guess.

... We'll get a reveal at some point lol.

Maybe if we all do some yoga or breathing exercises .... perhaps some kind of zen moment and chant "it will come when it comes".  I'll reserve the Dropkick Murpheys and bottle throwing for the actual reveal. lol

I'm so tempted to pour over all the leaked survey information, obscure Sprint Review Day tweets and Cullen fan vids/fics/art again, but I know if I do it then I'll end up getting all excited about DA3 and then really impatient because we have to wait for info.

I'm also pretty sure we'll be at 2000 by the time there's a reveal.

I wouldn't be surprised if, by the time DA3 roles around, Cullen is pretty much living solely to do whatever his cause is and putting his own life at risk in order to do so (for the Divine or whatever) and not really caring if he gets mortally injured in the process. So his mindset would be like "this is my only goal, I have nothing else to live for so I'm going to put everything into it and if I die then I die". Then (hopefully) we'd be able to gradually break through his defenses and soften him up again, enough to give him another cause and purpose (via the Inquisitors mission) and then a personal reason to live for (the romantic relationship with the protagonist).

I love this idea!!  What a fun story this would be to explore, because he doesn't live for himself, he lives for his cause. Then, what happens when he falls for protagonist...? What does he have to share with someone when he has nothing left of himself??  (hmm, starting to sound a bit like Anders... no *wonder* that never worked out! LOL).

Anyhoo, that would be an interesting transformation, for him to finally accept that he cares about the protagonist which means he has to give up his kamikaze attitude since now he has something else to live for.

Hmm.... /plotbunny ... frak...<_<

Bwahahaha!  Bets?? How many pages do we do in a month now?? It took us 3 months to go about 400 pages. So... that's probably too close to call, LOL. I could very well see the reveal not happening until June.

Mwahaha, I gave you another plot bunny!

Yeah, I guess if they went that route they'd have to avoid it being too much like Anders... Or Seb if he's dedicated his life to the Chantry etc. I think it's do-able though as it would be in a hardened veteran kinda way and he'd actually have his defenses up, rather than being all "I like you, but you must not like me" "I love you, but I'll break your heart, run whilst you can" "I'm trouble, but please shag me, declare your love for me and then let me move in straight after!!"

R2: This past week or so we've been moving up a good 7 or 8 pages a day. On really slow days we'll move up 1 or 2, but we're constantly moving either way. It's not taken us long to get to almost 1600, so I guess it really depends on how quiet this next month or so is.

Either way, we'll be pretty close to 2000 by the time we get news, if not past it.

If he is a romance option and a companion, I think it's safe to say he won't be too much like Anders, Seb, or Alistair. The Devs have said before that they find little point in writing companions and romances that are too similar, because that's not interesting to them and they don't want to write two characters that are exactly the same. He might have similarities (possibly being sweet and gentlemanly?) but he won't be so similar that he'll be verginal chantry boy 2.0 or something.

I reckon they won't even mention whether or not he's still a virgin, they'll just leave it to us to head canon I think... If he's a companion/LI at all.

Yeah...

Even if he is a virgin, it doesn't mean he'll be awkward adorable like Alistair. When in an actual relationship, he could be more forward than we expect and totally surprise us.

Lol, yeah he could totally be like "I've been waiting bloody years to do this!" *Pounces* Or he could be very sweet about it but feel confident enough to be worried about being all hands and stuff lol (bless Alistair, too adorable for his own good!)

It's hard to believe that DA3 is still currently on target for a late 2013 release, with the lack of info I keep forgetting that it's not really that far off. Hell even early 2014 isn't that far either.

From what I can tell we'll be getting a reveal of what's in-game etc before we get a trailer, so when they do finally tell us something it should be a decent chunk of info for us to mull over for a few months. That survey leak kept us going until recently so it'll be good for the threads growth lol.

Urgh, it's crap knowing that there isn't going to be any sort reveal happening this month.
