I don't think anyone needs to be sorry about anything. As we've said before, everyone is entitled to have an opinion and express it. We're a friendly fan thread, not a guild -- there are no rules. We don't have bro-code.


Essentially, I think our only standard is kindness and respect on those occasions that we DO disagree or think a complaint to the right person could be ultimately healthier for the DA community. Danny, Newschmoo, I'm part of this Cullen democracy and I vote that you both consistently pass.


Let's all have a Cullen. Because he's awesome. And we love him. And that's what this thread is!

I believe the mod herself was generalising about people being rude on threads (within the BSN in general, about any confession that some people MAY find insulting). And if she was aiming it at us then I suggest you tell her to check this thread out herself, she'll find no **** s are given about the DA confession Tumblr posts in here.

I feel that you need to think before you post, this is the upteenth time you've got on your high horse and starting getting soap boxy and abrasive with people in here when there's no need. No one in here attacked or is being rude about your mod friend, hell, no one cares about the Cullen confession itself. It wasn't even offensive. 

I also think you need to be careful with your "my way or the high way" attitude, not everyone is going to have the same opinion as you. Danny has every right to be offended by the post, just as your have every right to feel that he is wrong. However, attacking him for it isn't cool.

I just don't understand why you get so argumentative when you could clearly see that no one was trying to cause a fight or offend.

2.) I've been thinking about playing Dark Souls after your recommendation, but it seems creepy. And I don't do creepy. I like, pee my pants. When I got to the broodmother part of DA:O, I had to play all night so I could get to a happier place in the game before I could sleep.

How does that work, with other characters thinking you're a d-bag? How is the play interactive like that?

People just don't appriciate rp these days... which is why I don't go online in Dark Souls. I have a horrible habit of rping characters that are thieving douchbags when there's no companions that flesh out the world more for me. I brought my house and all it's fancy crap just by pickpocketing people in Skyrim.

It's kinda hard to explain. The Souls universe is based just on that, souls and humanity. You can use humanity to regain *gasp* you guessed it, human form back. If you die, you go hollow. Which is basically undead. You can only be invaded while you're human. Players who need humanity or a lot of souls might invade your world and take the risk of stealing your souls/humanity.

It's actually a very unique experience but like I said, the game can be brutally punishing. Example, if you have a bunch of souls/humanity, each time you die it creates a blood splatter in that spot. You can retrieve all those souls/humanity if you make it back to the exact spot where you died. If you die again BEFORE retrieving your body, you lose all the souls/humanity permanently. As you can imagine, that's painful later in the game when you have 1 million unspent souls and 99 humanity. Ugh.

The game is very hard but also very rewarding. So as you can imagine, sometimes I invade worlds where I kill people and steal their souls/humanity. That's where most of the hate messages come from. They still have the opportunity to retrieve them when I kill them though. They just have to retrieve their body without dying.

Well, I accidentally killed one of the towns-folk and then they all started attacking me... So I killed them all. Then they wanted to make me pay money or go to jail, but I didn't want to... So I started killing the guards too. Then I tried to kill the kids, cos they were being rude and annoying me...

... It all spiralled out of control really quickly!

That would be so fun! But I play on pc or xbox 360.

The game sounds complex -- but sometimes I really really like complex. The whole "fetching your body thing" brings me back to long hours of playing WoW in college, and if it's anything like that in Dark Souls I could see my people might get pissed about it. But that's the chance you take with online play, right? It is what it is!

Seriously, though, if it's a creepy as it looks I may need a buddy to play it. I'm a super wimp when it comes to anything remotely horror. Like, I cry. LOL. Anyone else playing Dark Souls on xbox?

Now Red Dead is a game with some..... uh... unique characters...

I remember that one quest where you have to find this guy's 'love/wife/girl' and rescue 'em or whatever..... and... she... ends up being a horse.

Have you played Dark Souls? I don't think I've played any game quite like it. Well, except for the first game Demon's Souls.

Dark Souls is on PC too. I'd imagine the console community is bigger though. Actually, the retrieve body is similar to WoW only more hardcore and you can actually do actions like killing. You might want to watch a few videos on it and see if it's your thing.

It is very complex. The game is also incredibly vague on their mechanics without looking at a guide/wiki. It's designed like that because they don't want to hold your hand at all(unlike most games today).

Um...I have had a nice private discussion via PM with Danny.    He knew I didn't say anything offensive and I know HE didn't say anything offensive either.  Its been straightened out. We agreed to keep in touch via  PM.   \\

I'd likely be terribad at it, I have a horribly short fuse with games that are super hard. I get awful gamer rage, this one time I actually sold my original Xbox because that Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the earth game crashed on me at a certain point after it had taken me about 200 + tries to beat the escape from the hotel section, LOL!
