I am sure it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things but just wanted to clarify that I did not submit my wedding mod video to Dragon Age confessions. I know the type of drama that goes on in fandom confession blogs and honestly wouldn't choose to have my work put in that type of context or environment.

However, I do appreciate the feedback even if some of the comments are not very positive. As R2s muse has pointed out - internet anonymity can bring out the worst in people. However if it weren't for the internet I'd not have a toolset to create cutscenes with nor a means to share what I have done with those who may enjoy it.. I think - even with a few people not liking the work- it is still worth doing for those who do appreciate it. :)

Ah, man, Allacia, I'm so sorry that happened. Argh. I do sorta wonder what the thinking was about it being submitted and posted in that way... Didn't mean to imply that you did yourself... which I realize it sounded like!

Anyway, don't let the turkeys get you down... and it sounds like you aren't!

Allacia: well I thought it was beautifully done, it wouldn't have mattered if the Warden was marrying Arl Howe it was still very impressive!

Allacia , If you ever make that into a mod, I am SO nabbing it! Beautiful work!
I don't even go to the confessions site because of how ugly people get.I take gaming serious, but I really want to have fun.
On a lighter note, have you ever trotted your Hawke over beside Cullen to get a screenie? I can't be the only one...

Image IPB

I can't get the pic to look right, but in my head I'm like ' he's checking her out! Look!'

Edit because I can't spell today! :):P

He checks me out.

Don't worry I know you were talking in general terms and not aiming the comments at anyone in particular (least of all me).  I like to think that the person who submitted the video to DA confessions was doing so out of good intentions - I doubt anyone can predict the reactions of the internet to these things. Even posts intended to be light-hearted can easily be misinterpreted and cause a argument. :?

Edit: Thank you Lolalei, ladyshaman and R2s Muse for your support.

I would get a screen cap if I could. :D I didn't immediately see his look as checking her out, but rather as she was putting herself between someone and Cullen and he's looking at Hawke thinking, "She really is something. Glad I have her on my side."

@Allacia I think you do wonderful work! And it's a shame someone else posted your video. That pesky internet annonymity thing again... <_< I applaud you for being so cool about it. I think I'd be a little more bothered, especially if I hadn't wanted my work revealed that way. But it's the internet so... :? What gets me the most is that none of them stop to think about the work that must go into making a mod function seemlessly. If it was something they liked, they'd be applauding your skill. The double-standard is annoying.

For instance,  Bethany is far from being a character I like but I don't rage against people who pair her with Cullen. It's not my cup of tea but everyone is allowed to like what they like.

@Lola I know you were being cheeky but the saying goes that there's truth in every joke. :D Therefore some fans got their dander up because someone out there was saying she has Beth dying in every PT and was unrepentent about it -even announcing it! I mean "Oh no she didn't!" levels of reaction here. Because how DARE anyone not like Bethany and kill her off without feeling at least a little sorry? Because your reason was a uniquely personal one, they find it easier to brand you, forgetting that their own reverence for Beth is also a personal preference instead of fact. In that mentality, they'd expect you to come up with a better, more logical reason (something deserving of Beth's sacrifice) because they can't handle that she's being killed off by someone, somewhere without a good reason. They want you to pander to them, to apologize for doing it. The fact that you don't just gets them foaming at the mouth because you assert that what you like to do comes first over their sensibilities. Which is basically a rejection of their own canon and, therefore, a rejection of their self-imposed reality. They're just as guilty of making their own fantasy life. The difference is that you acknowledge it and embrace it for the fun it is. The ones the most butthurt are the ones who are probably the most guilty of living in their canon the way they accuse you of doing. I wouldn't worry about them. Just keep doing what you do.
 :D

Edit: Wow. Got a bit ranty...

Sooo.... speaking of Cullen/Bethany pairings... there's a particularly saucy one that just got a big update by Defira on AO3, if anyone's interested. I'll stress that it's very NSFW, with lotso smuttysmutsmut, and not quite finished yet. But, it's got some fun Cullen moments, which may be fun even for the anti-Bethany contingent. It had me in stitches repeatedly.:o No need to have read the previous story as so far it seems pretty standalone.

So here's an interesting Cullen related Dragon Age Confession:

Image IPB

What do you make of that? Gotta say, I really like the choice of picture.

I wonder just how many of those people twho currently hate him will go all weak at the knees and start ferociously defending him the minute he's made into a companion/love interest (if he is made one, that is.)

It's dead all over the DA2 forum. I seriously can't think of any good questions for you guys to reignite things... it's probably gonna be quiet until the DA team release more information about DA3, hopefully at E3 in 2 weeks.

Well that would suck. Having to wait until more news is announced to get things running again. :/ I hope there is news, though. No news is worse than bad news. I wanna know the fate of DA3!!!! :c

Well they've closed that thread they made for us to give them feedback on things we'd like to find out in DA3 so I guess they're gonna have a look through that then give us more announcements at E3.

Hopefully it hasn't been postphoned for that Star Wars game.

Let's hope not. Do you really think they asked us what we hoped to learn in DA3 in order to maximize what they reveal at E3? Or that they were gathering ideas for what to do in DA3? (Despite their claim to the contrary...)

Edit: Well, goodnight. I have to get some sleep now. Body is protesting the mere 4 hours I got last night. See you later.

I really have no idea, I was actually having this conversation earlier with one of the other forumites lol.

I'd like to think they are doing it to gather at least a few ideas for DA3, even if it's just to fill up the codex page, but then again this could just be damage control, what with the fall out DA2 and the ME3 endings caused. I mean, surely they already know what people want to learn about/discover/see in DA3 and other DA related stuff?

Could this just be type of publicity stunt? Or did they do this with DA2/other Bioware games?

Hmm, you know, I really just get the impression from everything they've said that they just want our feedback so the fans aren't pissed again when DA3 comes out. I'd be surprised if it's a publicity stunt, since that would just anger people even more. To me, they seem genuinely interested in hearing from us and are doing it to show that they're listening. They didn't need to do it with DA2 because there was no fan discontent at that time.

After all, the Bioware blog question they just closed is the just the first in a monthly series. I'd like to give them the benefit fo the doubt that they want to do well by the fans, as they have always demonstrated in the past.

That vid by VampOrchid I think just reflects what they said in that recent blog entry. I don't think there's any need to worry unless they say something new.

Hopefully that'll put a stop to the rumours that it's been postphoned at least. I hope they show us some more concept art or give us a few more hints soon I'm rubbish at waiting lol.

LOL It would be nice for them to address the 'postponed' rumors. But, honestly, since they never gave us a release date in the first place, I doubt if we'd ever have any idea if it was postponed or not anyway. It seems they're being extremely careful with expectation management this time... and of course, I don't blame them for that. :D

That's true. Still we know they've been holding VA auditions (presumably for DA3 lol) and they've got their concept armor and desire to set it in Orlais, so that's something at least.

Oh man, I think I just wrote myself into a small anachronism hole. So... pockets. Probably don't have 'em in Dragon Age, right? Argh. Although, there's mention of them. Robe of Hidden Pockets. Coat Lining with Concealed Pockets. Pick pocketing. Anyone else ever deal with this?

I would assume they have pockets in the DA universe. I''d be shocked and alarmed if they did not. Hawke gets pick pocketd in the beginning when she first runs into Varric. I don't recall he/r having any bags with he/r so it would seem natural that the pilfered bag of coins came from a pocket. Pockets - make it so! Image IPB

Coin purses and little leather baggy things attached to their belts.
