OK... don't get mad... but I don't see why this is so newsworthy...? Frostbite 2 vs 3 vs 10,000... I mean, we already knew it was Frostbite and therefore awesome, right? There must be some subtlety lost on me...
Cos now we know, we should start getting a little more info!

"Designers are also able to make changes to console and PC versions of a game simultaneously, which could ensure more consistency between platforms." As a minority PC gamer, yay.
If they were waiting for the FB3 reveal, then that would be great! it looks like the BF4 trailer on that article is a "gameplay trailer." Do you think that's what they have in mind for DA3?

I think that's probably more realistic looking than DA3 will be, but I dare say it won't be too far off! Maybe that's why they've been so quiet, since they couldn't really show us anything all the time the upgraded/new engine hadn't been announced.

Ok. Frostbite 3 is nerdgasm news. Please take my word for it. There is no limit. Well, tools are limit, but that's it. It's a powerhouse. It's like strapping Marric up and performing blood magic on him with a freaky device. I think we can expect MOAR.

Yeah, I don't think it'll look as realistic as BF4 because that's obviously supposed to look like "real life" whereas Dragon Age games are supposed to be fantasy and have a distinct art style.

Exactly! But also you can cram so many computations in this thing so there's going to be room for LOTS of stuff on all kinds of levels. Sound, light, animation, world and all kinds of elements in the world. Then gameplay, fighting, rules, etc (this is super dummed down btw). Great potential!LolaLei wrote...

Also, I'm playing Bioshock Infinite right now and one of the first voices I heard was Greg Ellis, lol.

The BF4 trailer was amazing looking. I agree with Scr0ll, I think graphics will look more alive than realistic. Like the elements such as fire and water. And lovely flowing hair that moves in the breeze ... (I will stop before I get carried away).

That sounds epic! Now, all we need is Cullen as a companion/LI and the game will be perfect!

No.Developer.Excuses.
Seriously, if we have empty environments and robotic pc's, I'll know now it's simply because the team didn't care to go there. They've got every possible tool available to them, as long as they've been given time. But if EA's shelling out this kind of tech for DAIII, it sounds like they mean srs bsns on this franchise (which: hallelujah!)

Perhaps EA are finally learning their lesson and are giving them the time and resources they need to make DA3 something truly amazing. I've got high hopes for this game.

Scr0ll, you went to that Dice Frostbite 3 reveal event thingy. What else can you tell us about it?
Also one thing that I mentioned. Remember that the developers need to create the tools to work with Frostbite3. So there's that. That's the only obstacle really.

Yeah, that's probably gonna take some time to do.
Lol, those events are always sausage fests. Sadly it's still very much male orientated at present. Did you get anyone making crude remarks towards you or anything?

It was a very nice event. Everyone was really sweet. Gamers are usually also geeks, and the one they'd brought in where the dedicated, active in community. So no random ****wads or anything. Also loads of journalists, writers, bloggers and that kind of people.
Oh yeah, it was for people in the industry wasn't it. I'd forgotten about that.
