David Gaider: More early morning auditions! Why can't England be on the east coast or something? Would make this easier.
Man, what I wouldn't give to be a voice actor in a Bioware game... **** knows how people go about auditioning, I've never seen them advertising.

I guess this was what I was starting to imagine after reading the Pockets wiki page... I was just remembering the historical Williamsburg doll I bought my nieces who had a "pocket" on her skirt which was really a separate piece of clothing, like a pouch, tied at her waist and worn inside her skirt.LolaLei wrote...

Oh man, I think I just wrote myself into a small anachronism hole. So... pockets. Probably don't have 'em in Dragon Age, right? Argh. Although, there's mention of them. Robe of Hidden Pockets. Coat Lining with Concealed Pockets. Pick pocketing. Anyone else ever deal with this?
Coin purses and little leather baggy things attached to their belts.
Hmm... then there's the fact that the bugger is probably wearing armor. Blast and damnation.

Naw, I used to do performing arts when I was younger but I kinda drifted from the idea. I doubt anyone would hire me with all these tattoos anyway, unless I spent a small fortune covering them up with stage makeup lol.
I'd give voice acting a go though, it doesn't matter what you look like with that kinda of thing lol.

I don't know about UK casting but here is one of the US trade papers that lists many auditions:
http://www.backstage.com/bso/index.jsp
Maybe you can do a search on casting auditions on your side of the pond.
I'd also like to point out that tattoos are not a big deal because they just cover it up. (Angelina Jolie is an example) There are many roles that actually could require tats... it just depends. And with VA it totally doesn't matter.

I'll look into it, it's probably too late for auditions for DA3 now anyway, plus I'd probably need some sort of demo reel or some sort of acting experience to be able to physically show them.

It depends. Many times the call for extras doesn't go out until the last minute. Sometimes (for film) you don't need anything but your person to show up and be in a crowd scene, etc. Nothing fancy but it's a foot in. In the way of VA, I'm not super familiar. I imagine they cast the prinicples first at any rate. Yes, it would help to have a demo but not necessarily experience.

Ah well, I guess I'd have to do what Felicia Day did and become an internet celebrity LOL.
,,, Where did she spring up from anyway? Was she famous prior to all this Dragon Age stuff, or was she an internet nerd that became popular?

On a side note, I've just read a few articles talking about Bioware cutting DA Legends as well as the entire Austin crew getting laid off. (Austin is the Star Wars crew I believe.) Wonder if there will be any more corporate 'shaving'...

I never played DA: Legends cos I don't have facebook, was it any good? It's worrying about this whole Bioware thing, the Edmonton lot are the most important though, what with Mass Effect as well as Dragon Age... So long as they all stay then things should be fine.
... ****, I hope we at least get DA3 before they go down the pan.

LOL yeah, Felicia Day became internet famous after being an actor. She's probably best known for being in the Joss Whedon stable, like playing a slayer on the last season of Buffy and playing the female lead in Dr Horribles Singalong Blog, plus of course the Guild, which also wrote, produced, etc.meanieweenie wrote...

I hadn't heard that about the BW cuts. Interesting. Did any of you play DA legends? I tried during the beta, and honestly ... didn't get it. Half the time I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do. LOL

I tried playing DA Legends, but just couldn't get into it. Seems kinda like a kid game, but that's just IMO. Now I gotta go hit the Deep Roads in my latest play through. I was going to ask a question in a different thread, but man, they are fussing over there, so I didn't jump in. I'm glad people here get along well. Makes it pleasant to visit! OH! R2, loved your screenies! Smelling her hair! LOL
Oooo what was the question?

It was a Fenris romance question. He's just so touchy!
Y'know what? In all the times I've played DA2, I've never been able to successfully romance him with male or female Hawke, not even a rivalmance. He's a tough bugger.

I just finished Mark the Assassin and I really like Tallis. :] I was sad that she was only a temporary companion.
It's much prettier than the rest of the game isn't it, the fight encounters were better too. Did you play it as a sarcastic male Hawke? He totally nails those lines!

... Granted, he could be recording for some other game or something else, but given the timing what with Bioware holding auditions in England at the moment, it's a high possibility he was back for something Bioware related. My prediction: Anders will show up for a cameo in DA3 (if you didn't kill him) meaning it will probably be set not too long after DA2 and it will involve the Mage/Templar rebellion.

I think Adam Howden (Anders VA) has been recording lines or auditioning for DA3. His twitter said something about how nice it was to see the SIDEuk guys again (SIDEuk is where Bioware have their English VA's record their lines.)

I read an article in Forbes today about the request for input from Bioware, and someone in the comments kept mentioning that it's EA that only allows 18 months to develop a game, without fail. Of course, this was said without any evidence, so I have no idea if that's true or not... but another accelerated development timeframe would explain why they ditched the DLC and moved right on to the new game. I kept thinking they were trying to be ahead of the game...

And as for Anders... I wouldn't be shocked if he did make an appearance in the next game even if you did knife him and leave him for dead. We all know that in the land of make-believe anything is possible. Justice can always make some voodoo to keep him alive. We never actually saw a corpse. What if he healed himself up enough to run off or something? It'll just give me another chance to kill him again! LOL

Well that fade spirit saved Wynne didn't it, so in theory Anders could have been saved by Justice as repayment for letting him co-inhabit his body. LOL it would be pretty funny if he came back a 3rd time!
I checked in on Greg Ellis but there's no word from him on twitter yet, I think he'd keep tight lipped until nearer the time, I think Adam was just trying to be cheeky, thinking no one would cotton on about SIDEuk... the only reason I knew is because I was trying to find out where Bioware advertise their auditions.
