So, I've been downloading a few DA2 tracks for videos 'n' stuff and I've come to the conclusion that despite DA2's music supposedly being rushed there are a few really good pieces. I really like the romance theme as well as a few others.

I think it'll be a shame if Ion Zur doesn't compose the music for DA3 since he has such a distinct style that I've come to recognise with the DA franchise.

I loved the transition music, I don't know the name of the song, but it's REALLY soothing.

I have a question for you guys.

Aside from Cullen, Cassandra and the Divine who else is there from the DA games that may play a relevant part in DA3 for sure? Is there anyone else I'm forgetting?

(Excluding all past companions, Flemeth, the Warden, Hawke and Empress Celene).

Oh dear, just read through all the DG controversy on tumblr. Poor guy can't get a break. I guess his trepidation at taking such a bold step for inclusivity was warranted. I'm still glad he did, tho.

I just don't understand why people have to pick apart his every word like that. Makes me sad 

I know. Especially given that he's a writer and probably already chooses his words with particular care. Even the champions aren't champion enough. I hope he's not discouraged.

There is always the bad with the good, so it's at least nice that so many people actually thanked him for speaking out and constantly bringing light to the issue at hand. 

I'm sure he's built a thick skin over internet comments by now, but still, it's gotta be disheartening for even a brief moment. I'd say he'd need a hug, but that would probably burn his skin  Maybe we can send him some fangirl tears for his coffee instead?

OMG this made me laugh... and think of things we could actually do. Like... heh, nikki, what do you (and everyone else) think about this??  Pick out one of those graveyard shots from DA:O and on one of the gravestones put:

I don't know if Rhys and Evangeline will pop up in some capacity, particularly relating to the tranquil aspect and their part (well Rhys) in the mages breaking away.

I also feel Corypheus will pop up too. I don't think he is dead looking at Larius.

Other than who has been listed already, I'm not sure I can think of anyone else who is 'important for possibly certain' off the top of my head, except maybe Leliana... and there's the likelihood we'll see Talis again. I could do without her, though. I didn't particularly like her or the lack of ways we were allowed to discuss the Qun with her. (You'd think Hawke could mention how the Qun treats mages or something.)

I also didn't like how there was no option to say 'I'm not a prejudice prig' without calling Talis the awesomeness. Alright, Falicia Day. I get it. You think you're character is the bee's knees. That's cool. I just don't care.

(I might be a little sore about the sneaking part of Mark of the Assassin too, I guess, because while it was awesome fun, Talis having a jerk comment the times I was caught didn't endear me to her. "Alright, then, little miss jerk face. Why don't YOU sneak ahead with your stealth and knock everyone out? You're the Rogue here. Hawke's a damned Mage." )

In Haven, after you finish the whole Sacred Ashes plot line, you can go read the tombstones behind one of the houses. There's some pretty hilarious lines on them, and some of the Bioware staff even have tombstones there for giggles.

Interesting things to note-

- Set in Orlais. Empress Celene I appears to be the protagonist.

- Centers on the Mage/Templar conflict and beginnings of an elven uprising.

- Others characters of note include Grand Duke Gaspard who appears to intially follow Celene I but begins to doubt that her approach to dealing with the issues Orlais faces is the right one. Seems to be set to go head to head with her for leadership of Orlais. There's also Celene's elven handmaiden (&spymaster&lover), Briala, who also appears to play a big role.

- April 2014 release (might hint at DA3 being released around the same time or soon after?)

- First DA novel to not be penned by David Gaider. Patrick Weekes, who seems to have exclusively worked with the Mass Effect franchise in the past, is taking over. I'm interested to see how well he does but am curious as to why Gaider isn't continuing to write. I'd hazard a guess that DA3 and other side projects are taking up most of his attention. It could be something entirely different. In any case, it's gonna take some adjusting.

Bringing news from the DA3 boards, because this place is a lot nicer than there. 

And holy crap this book will be written by Patrick Weekes! I loved his The Palace Job and the fact he's been moved to the Dragon Age team makes me so happy. He wrote my favourite parts of Mass Effect 3. *flaily hands and fangirl squealing*

(I'm also pretty sure he wrote the Garrusmance, so if he writes any of the love interests in DA:I... hot damn!)

They seem to have brought in a couple folks from the Mass Effect teams so I think they really are pulling out all the stops for this one.

The Palace Job is fantastic, or at least I think so. It's right up there in my favourite book pile with Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I love me some clever humour.

If he's not writing any of the companions/a main NPC and is instead writing mostly plot/quest lines, I imagine it will still be very awesome. If I remember right, I think he wrote a lot of Tuchanka and Rannoch in ME3? And those were some of my favourite plot points -- especially going into the Geth mainframe!
