LOL, Demarco -- I LOVE how hilariously angry you can be as a city elf! You're like Bruce Banner -- angry all the time. It's hilarious how you can sass Duncan for being in the alienage and suggest to Soris that the two of you kill him. Then he tells you how scary you are sometimes. LMAO.

Danny, you are so right -- this kind of playthrough would be amazing to livestream! I really do need to get it on pc, because mods. And it's so cheap now.

You know, it's weird how we have these idealized versions of what it means to be a hero. I think part of my problem with my non-canon playthroughs is me fighting against the idea of the Warden being perfect. Because why can't someone shag everything and sell some elves and get Connor killed and lie to Morrigan about killing Flemeth and keep all Wynne's booze to herself and still slay the Archdemon that threatens the world? I think I need to wrap my brain around the idea that very flawed people can still accomplish amazing things.

/deepthoughts

I think I find it more difficult to play an evil character in BioWare games, simply because the npcs and particularly the companions feel like real people, so it's almost like you're hurting your friends, especially after a couple of playthroughs when you know the characters personalities inside out.

Exactly! Can't even add to it, perfectly said!

Random responses to the current conversations...

I love Riddick, first and second movie :P Did you know he's making a third movie?! I'm super excited. I love that character. Vin Diesel is pretty amazing.

About "bad" heroes... my canon Warden is a pretty good guy. I don't think he made any "evil" choices. But my Dalish Warden has an arc basically. He starts off hating shems and thinking of them as little more than animals. He shoots the three shems he and Tamlin find in the forest lol Boom, boom, boom! The last one squealing as it tries to escape. Heartless little elf lol He's rude to Cailin. I think he kills Dwyn (the dwarf in Redcliffe). And he kills Isolde to save Connor... or did he kill Connor? He killed one of them. Whereas the city elf (canon) Warden saved them both.

Hawke, it really depends. Some have no problem killing to get the job done; others have more of a conscience. I guess my RPG characters are like characters I write; they're not me so they can do whatever they want, so long as it stays true to their personality.

I really hope we'll get a chance to select our import choices. I can't always remember what my Warden did, and sometimes I made choices based on not knowing more about the game (like accidentally having to sleep with Morrigan b/c I didn't have enough persuasion to make Alistair do i).

I'd rather just check off what, say, a Dalish Warden did (killed this person and this person), then maybe design his face (in case he shows up in DA3), say he romanced Zevran, and voila.

Yeah, it's tricky to remember especially when you don't know what's going to be important or referenced in the next game.

... It's even trickier when the import flags don't pop correctly and you can't remember whether you made that certain decision, or if it's a glitch. Like when my DA2 codex told me I'd killed Connor and then another time it said I'd killed Isolde only to find her at the MotA garden party. I don't even get that added bit of codex in Cullen's entry about the rumours of him having a crush on my Amell anymore, even though I still get the scene where he remembers her fondly.

Speaking of codex entries, does anyone else feel they should've updated Cullen's codex after every act like they did with the companions and a few of the npcs? Cullen's outlook and thoughts on Meredith and the order clearly change throughout the course of 10 years, so it would've been interesting to see that reflected in his codex.

Wouldn't it be awkward and trollish of the devs to make something super-insignificant from DA:O or DAII end up being really important in DA3?

I'm talking something like Corff the bartender getting pissed the Hawke never spoke to him in DAII and setting Starkhaven on fire.

I think it would have been nice if that happened to every major character to be honest.

Also, in his DA2 codex entry it says Greagoir sent Cullen away to serve in Kirkwall hoping it would calm him. Nowhere does it mention that he went to Greenfell first. So does that mean that was retconned too? Or was he sent to Greenfell and then went back to the Ferelden Circle, then got sent to Kirkwall?

LOL, they pulled similar tricks in ME3! I totally wouldn't be surprised if they done it in DA3 too!

Well it says "After he returned to his duties." That could mean, after recooperating in Greenfell and returning to his duties...  It's too bad they didn't include that, but it is still consistent with the codex, technically.  Bah, who knows.

It's very obscure. Where is Greenfell supposed to be? Somewhere in Ferelden?

That's my guess. I don't think I've ever seen it on a map.

This would make me ridiculously happy! We find out that little elf boy Cammen from the Brecilian Forest's Dalish camp went postal after you failed to help him and his girl get together - raises a rebellion, puts a Dalish hit mark on all Wardens. lol

They don't really update for the conclusion of the Act 3 romance though, which always annoyed me. It was like Fenris was in a perpetual state of sadness and forever-alone-ness lol

Poor Fenris. If only they would have let us make him smile big just once.

Edit: ya know, they could take many liberties with DA2's story in the next round since it was Varric telling it. Technically, most of it could be BS and the only facts are 1) there was someone named Hawke 2) the Chantry was bombed by a crazy mage.

LOL, good point!

I bet the crazy-assed combat moves will turn out to be a fabrication on Varric's part!

Do you guys think some DA2 companions will cameo? Then we can know what happened to them, a wee bit.

It would be fun to see a few, wouldn't it? Like Isabela showing up with a baby. Posted Image

I reckon Varric will, and most likely Anders if you didn't kill him. I guess they've all got a reason to show up if the whole of Thedas is a risk. I could imagine Aveline and Donnic showing up to support to the peace gathering. Maybe Merrill will end up joining another Dalish clan if she didn't romance Hawke? I'm sure some of them will pop up!
