Basically it said that there is little known about the Inquisition and some speculate that they were a group that dealt with the mage problem back in the day etc, but in actual fact the Inquisition were the Seekers and that they brought on an "inquisition" of the situation (thus the nickname forming, I guess).

At the end of this diary entry (or whatever it was) it said that IF there was an Inquisition around the time of the original mage problem then it was likely formed by a small group of people completely separate from the whole Chantry/Seeker/Mage/Templar thing. However, the "writer" of said entry seemed skeptical that the Inquisition was anything more than a nickname for the Seekers.

OMG, that's so interesting!  Hmm. The latter totally fits with my Inquisition as Militia idea... It's very cool to allow the conspiracy theory angle on the Inquisition... except that I want answers!  Gah.

So, maybe the Seekers were always around, just called the Inquisition in the past?  Or maybe the Inquisition was a private group running around... protecting people from evil mages? Interesting. You'd think someone like Lambert would know his own organization's history...

It certainly fits with the idea of this "new group" forming from the ashes of an explosion. I guess they decided to use the name because as far as they are aware it's never been used before. I'm wondering if maybe they've done a little hand waving of the Inquisition thing in DA2 and written it off as whoever wrote it chose to believe the alternative tale that they Inquisition were the group that came before Seekers and Templars, rather than the Inquisition actually just being a nickname for the Seekers.

Weelll, but we believe it was the Seeker/Templar predecessor because DG told us so. Not that he's never wrong or misleading... but what little we had to go on seemed pretty clear, as in it wasn't a 'hearysay' codex entry but a DG interview and  an official BW blog.

Bah, I didn't think they'd just end up confusing us more! Indeed, it could be a little retconning. "Well, we said the Seekers used to be known as the Inquisition... see, nickname!" LOL Or maybe, given that the former Inquisition had a bad rep, the Seekers just gave themselves an image makeover when they went to work for the Chantry. "No, really, we're not the Inquisition! Heavens no! We're good now. See! We removed the sword piercing the eye in our logo and everything!"

LOL! Good point!

I guess it could've been done so that we'd stop presuming that we're going to be forced to be affiliated with the Chantry/Templars, lol.

I'll bet anything that's true! LOL "Don't worry so much, DA Faithful. The Inquisition can be anything you want it to be! There there, now." *pats head, but snatches back hand from snapping jaws*

Wow, first a wonderful Cullen visual feast. Now sum interesting bits abt the Seekers/Inquisitors.

The Seekers are rather..inquisitive.

But I'm confused w/ the WoT entry. Soooo were there ppl running around hunting mages, etc, and the Seekers were merely investigating the situation way back then? And somehow they're now associated w/tht history? Like ppl think it was the Seekers that were having a reign of terror when it was another group?

Or....?

I do like the idea of a super, super secret org w/secret knowledge and....stuff. A group that existed before the Chantry. Above the Chantry and Templars.

Hey guys, good to see a lot of you got your World of Thedas books! I still have to read over the last few pages to get all the juicy details.

Lola, I tried clicking on your link to subscribe but it keeps bringing me to the BSN "Page not Found" thing. I'm going to try just finding your channel on YouTube the old fashioned way, and I will for sure subscribe!

Finally have some time between work, and this huge storm/flood rolling over my area, to settle in and catch up on this thread. Driving home on the express way was scary as hell!

Really? That's odd. Copy and paste this, I won't make the link live this time:

Did that work?

Yep I got it! It's been doing that error a lot w/ other links people post, so it might just be something w/ my computer settings.

I know we already did the Dark and Stormy theme, but it's been raining for 2 straight days over here so I got in the mood to do a sad and rainy Cullen screenshot edit.

*sigh* Time to satisfy my pangs for Inquisition news with Origins. Gotta say, I'm pretty jealous of those of you that have that pretty new book to keep you distracted!

Awesome work! I shot it around to a few people in the office. My thoughts:

Didn’t get to sympathize with the family until 5-6 play throughs! Wow talk about commitment
You want to see a shank up the ass coming :)
I liked your thoughts on the fade[/list]
Keep doing these, they are really good to see.

LOL, that's my cat Riker. I'm surprised my other cat Dweezil didn't come and jump on the desk like he normally does.
