LOL Jessica is so funny. She said the same sort of thing during the PAX panel, like four times, encouraging everyone to read Asunder. Hmm... let me guess... DA:I starts right after Asunder??? LMVAOLolaLei wrote...

Now Cullen, I feel takes his vows very seriously just like Jon does. I think it may have some kind of connection to his past. I've always theorised that he was an orphan who was taken in by the Chantry, and thus that is why he has such a reverence and loyalty to it as well as his vows.

Then Cullen could be her long lost brother.

Ser Thrask's mage daughter is a bit of a problem in my theory, but there are a number of explanations. Like perhaps she was adopted (C.S. Lewis was adopted by a Catholic priest), or maybe Thrask became a Templar after his wife died in order to keep food on the table.
Just my thoughts.

Loved the new video - that Bubble girl game just looks weird!
I am also incredibly jealous of those watching the new season of Game of Thrones. I can't watch it as I don't have Sky anymore :-(
The Thrask situation was never fully explained. I kind of thought he was a templar, got married, had a mage child (there has been discussions that templars may be more susceptible to this) and kept her hidden to protect her (I think she was an apostate mage).

David Gaider should write a character like Daenerys Targaryen in DA3.

If Cullen was her brother he'd be 1000 times better than Viserys! He was an awful character.

EA is really hurting. I read an article not too long ago that said they will likely be bankrupt within the next 5 years if they continue on their current course. That's grim to think about. I feel bad for all the families struggling now.
I read a post on Reddit where one mother's husband got the boot from EA and she said they were in such financial trouble. They had to move because EA required it where the new studio was placed. The problem is that she had surgery several months ago and has a pile of medical bills plus a child with an immune disease. Just really sad to read...

Yea, he treated his sister like doo doo...
Daenerys is one of my favorite characters in the books/show.

Yea, they have a rumor the EA Partners is shutting down too. That's what they used to gain publishing agreements with many indie devs.

These are tough times indeed. Sad story:(. I hope that EA doesn't go bankrupt as that would be bad news for Bioware.
It is odd that people have received the WoT at different times. I think most people in the UK got their copy a week ago! I thought it would have been released at the same time. I wonder what will happen when the game is released?!

Would the appeal be the same romancing Cullen as a warrior or a rogue, or is much of the tension invested in the mage-templar relationship?

My pleasure! I go with blond these days, too.
On celibacy, it was implied in DA:O, although in retrospect those were really limitations on fraternization and having a family. My suspicion is that, with the addition of Wesley Vallen, they added some caveats, like templars can marry under certain circumstances. You can see what DG had to say on templar chastity on the templar wiki page.
I knew I wasn't the only one wondering..!

I think the mage-templar thing certainly brings its own built-in drama, some of it perhaps insurmountable given his PTSD, but for myself, I think the character is interesting enough in his own right that he'd be an interesting romance with any class. In fact, I'm personally kind of over the whole Cullen x mage thing, so I tend to write my Hawkes at other classes these days.Commander Kurt wrote...
LolaLei, I agree about the "warrior priest" thing. But I have a question (since I seem to gravitate to this place);
Would the appeal be the same romancing Cullen as a warrior or a rogue, or is much of the tension invested in the mage-templar relationship?
But, then, DA3 will bring a completely new dynamic. I don't see Cullen ever really being ok with getting involved with a Circle mage under his care, since there are so many icky problems involved in that power differential independent of the blatant rule-breaking for a rule follower. In DA3, however, there are no Circles. It isn't even clear if magic is officially illegal then, or what, so I think that could bring a range of interesting NEW conflicts for a DA3!Cullen x mage interaction.
LOL Thanks so much! It was a hoot to write.I knew I wasn't the only one wondering..!R2s Muse wrote...
