LOL Good point. I suppose it could get worse than now... but not by much. Pfft. As it is, it's already pretty ridiculous that we fear mentioning his name anywhere outside this thread.SamaraDraven wrote...

Be prepared though, regardless of what part he plays in DA3 we're still gonna get some degree of hate.
There will be people coming into the thread being smug and rude because we didn't get our wish of Cullen as a companion and then directly attacking his fans because "how can you like him when he did this/that/etc, you're all a bunch of psycho fangirls". OR there will be people attacking us from all corners because "the devs pandered to the fangirls and made Cullen a companion/LI" etc.
Either way we're screwed, so let's just hope that we get him as a companion/LI so that it'll be worth the hassle lol.
For that, I say "Bring it." At least we'll have something worthwhile or can at least rest easy, knowing he wasn't villified. If Cullen is a companion and or LI, I ain't gonna care!
No doubt there will be a short story or inccident in-game that will encourage a *certain* BSN individual to come in here, be a sarcastic **** and then post it on his Tumblr for us to be ridiculed. <_<

That would be cool if they did the companion short stories again. It was a nice touch with DA2.LolaLei wrote...

It would be a good way to give us a bit of background history on each companion, especially if (for some unknown reason) they aren't planning on having the companions talk much about their past in-game.

Most of them. I know I've read one for Fenris, Anders, Sebastian, Varric... Not immediately recalling the others.LolaLei wrote...

Did they do it with all the companions for DA2? I know they did one for Anders, just to explain how Justice ended up merging with him.

LOL and looking again, I have read them all. Huh. Funny the others didn't stick with me. Although, seeing how Aveline met Wesley was nice.

I don't own the comics... *shifty eyes* but I read them! =D It's a neat touch, I think.

Maybe we should have our own little contest / drinking game once the game comes out where you get a point for every correct random theory or idea someone here has had, they get a point. We should at least keep a tally just for kicks.

One of us had to have hit on something at some point. It's that infinite number of monkeys coming up with Shakespeare idea. Us being the monkeys! LOL

I'm just excited that we'll finally get to see something next month. I hope it's something meaty that will tie us over for a while. Feels like we've been walking the Sahara for a year now.

I'd love for it to be a super amazing game trailer with more than just obscure flashes of combat and then maybe reveal one companion to give us speculation fodder. Then in 2 months give us another companion or something. That way we have ample time to debate the hell out of each.... only to find out in the end how off we all were. lolLolaLei wrote...

If it wasn't for that survey leak (real or not) this place would've been dead on it's arse months ago. Hopefully, if they're still aiming for a Fall release the wait shouldn't be too hard.
I wonder if maybe they'll give us the full sha-bang at E3 and say "there you go, here are all the details you'll need to make an informed decision on whether DA3 is for you, have fun!" Or if they'll give us a small little taster and then continue to slowly reveal little bits and pieces over the next few months until it ships. I'm not sure which I'd prefer really, but I hope they don't just reveal the bare minimum and then keep us in the dark until the last two weeks before it hits the shops.

He says that early on (I think) when Hawke is trying to defend mages. Forget which quest (or if it's just in talking with him in the Gallows).
I feel it would be a mighty leap in character to have Cullen ever be pro-mage, 100%. He was so ruthlessly tortured by mages that he could never completely trust them, I don't think, not as a whole group. He's like the abused woman who tells everyone you can't trust a man, any man. You may feel and know differently, but you just smile and nod and agree with her because, god, she's been through hell and back, and you're not going to be the one to contradict her.
