Usually I play as a warrior or rogue first, this time I'm gonna play as a mage first just to see how one would be introduced into the Inquisition or whatever.

LOL Perhaps I'm the only one, but I always play a warrior first. I think because it usually takes the least finesse for my first PT. I know I can hack and slash my way through anything as I figure out the specialiAtions and whatnot. Then rogue becomes my canon.

lol Yeah that's why I always pick "soldier" for ME. That other stuff looks complicated.

Stupid question, but do we know precisely how long Hawke was in Kirkwall for? Was it 10 years or less?

10 years.

I was under the impression that it was approximately 7 years. The first year doing dirty deeds to secure their place in Kirkwall, by Act 2 another 3 years has past, which equals 4 years. Then by Act 2 another 3 years has pasted which brings us in at 7 years.

Then 3 years after that Cassandra interrogates Varric, but by that point Hawke 'n' co have been gone for years. The game took place over 10 years, but Hawke was only there for 7 years... or so I thought.

Which means Cullen will be about 34 years old, give or take a year or two if they've shaved a few years off like they appeared to with his appearance in DA2, and depending on when DA3 takes place.

Cullen is only 34?? That's disappointing for some reason, perhaps because I myself am about to be 33 in three months lol

How big is the download? I remember it was 30GBs in beta, which is ridiculous. 30GBs is like 15% of my monthly bandwidth cap from ISP...

LOL Naw. Just slap up a pic if you run into too many posts. It's too bad there's no way to delete your own.

Thanks for letting me know.  I was having problems with my tablet this morning, so ended up with lots of stupid double posts!  I shall have to start playing DA2 on the pc soon, so I can take lots of Cullen screenshots to fill them in!

MMG your Inquisitor doll does look like Jon Snow.  All he needs is a beard and gruff northern accent and he'd be perfect!

Re DA2, from playing the game, I thought it was seven years too that Hawke had been in Kirkwall (I remember adding up the years) and the WoT confirms this.

So Cullen (if he was 24 in 9:30) would be 34 if the DA3 starts in 9:40.  Still young and in his prime!

Aww, I can't watch season 3 of GoT as I don't have Sky anymore .   I will have to start reading the books.

I've always imagined/liked the idea of the very beginning of DA3 running parallel to Cassandra's interrogation, so by the time we, as the player, have gotten to know our new protagonist via the playable prologue Cass will have only just returned from her Kirkwall trip to witness things blowing up/whatever which is where her path finally crosses with our protagonist.

I still reckon that Cassandra's "Plan B" is the whole Inquisition reformed/being created thing.

No, MLaw said it would take place after Asunder. He didn't say when it would actually start... A shade of difference.

I was half right then... kinda, lol. Mind you, it could take place anytime between the very end of Asunder and 10+ years later! Still, that'll probably be something we find out at E3 or the following weeks after that.

No, this is correct. Hawke arrives in Kirkwall during the Blight in 9:30, a year later (9:31) is Act 1 and the Deep Roads, three years later she kills the Arishok in Act 2 in 9:34 (you can see this in the Champion of Kirkwall codex) and in Act 3, she kills Meredith in "Year 7" in 9:37. Three years after that  is when the framing story takes place and Cassandra is interrogating Varric, 9:40. That's where the ten years comes from. So, Hawke split Kirkwall in 9:37, altho of course we don't know where she went after that, or if she came back, yadda yadda.

Exactly. It could pick up any time thereafter, although personally, my money's on immediately after.
