I've always imagined/liked the idea of the very beginning of DA3 running parallel to Cassandra's interrogation, so by the time we, as the player, have gotten to know our new protagonist via the playable prologue Cass will have only just returned from her Kirkwall trip to witness things blowing up/whatever which is where her path finally crosses with our protagonist.

I still reckon that Cassandra's "Plan B" is the whole Inquisition reformed/being created thing.

This would also make sense to me, dovetailing it with the previous story like they did with DA2 beginning during the Blight. A nice way to add continuity to the storytelling for the fans while providing some extra exposition on the world state and how the heck we got there.

It would be funny if the (non-Chantry aligned) Inquisition were Cass's Plan B, when Plan B is supposed to be "in the hands of the Maker now." Heh.

I dunno if I imagined it but I could swear that Mark Darrah said DA3 will pickup straight after the events of Asunder.

No, MLaw said it would take place after Asunder. He didn't say when it would actually start... A shade of difference.

I was half right then... kinda, lol. Mind you, it could take place anytime between the very end of Asunder and 10+ years later! Still, that'll probably be something we find out at E3 or the following weeks after that.

Exactly. It could pick up any time thereafter, although personally, my money's on immediately after.

Yeah, the fact that they made a big deal about setting the Cass/Varric interrogation 3 years after Hawke left Kirkwall and had said interrogation be a result of the Asunder novel certainly sounds like DA3 will pick up from where the interrogation/Asunder left off, either running parallel to the end of it or occuring a few weeks/months after.

I typically lean to either a ranger, rogue, or warrior type when I make characters. I make female characters for all mage PCs. I don't think mage fits well for the gender male, IMO.

Cassandra seems like the kind of woman to meticulously plan ahead, she doesn't stike me someone who would just sit back and let fate decide, she's far too controlling to allow that!

So my bet is she went right back to the Divine and requested that she at least consider the idea of the Inquisition (or whatever)... to which the Divine probably just hand waved it off, until she gets her arse killed, which is where Cass will probably step in and be like "BULLSH!T! INQUISITION, NOW!" :lol::lol:

I would've had my Hawke as a rogue, but that would've meant losing Carver.

LOL My one male PC in DA2 was a mage, and I tried my hardest to find/use all the pantsuit versions of robes. LOL I kept him in the starter, Act 1 sleeveless ensemble for the longest time! LOL

That's something else we should do, take bets on what the opening of DA3 will involve and see how close we were to getting it right.

I started thinking that maybe the DA3 protag was around the corner at the end of DA2 waiting for Cass lol

It'd be interesting if the game picked up right after the interrogation, but that'd might be too sudden a presumptive push into the game if we just started out as "SO, HOW'D THAT INTERROGATION GO?"

As for Cullen's age, I take everything in the toolset with a grain of salt, so he could have a few years shaved off. Heck, even added.
I don't have a problem with 34, either way /shrug

LOL, imagine that! Or Cassandra runs into the new protagonist whilst leaving, like on the road after running into a spot of trouble, which is where our protagonist comes in to save the day... or tries to steal from her, thus being in her custody when sh!t hits the fan.

I absolutely loathe the armor designs for mages. None of them seem to be for male(or at least appealing to me as a male) so I tend to play female PCs on that class.

I do not like running around in a dunce cap with a dress on as a male. It would be nice to see DA3 make more appealing armor designs for both genders on all classes. The champion set looked great. I don't see why Bioware refuses to make more battle armor like that for mages. It doesn't seem realistic to me a mage is running around in robes all day especially on frontline combat. Sure, they might not be physically trained like a warrior but they can wear SOME armor. No excuse in DA3 if it is indeed a major war...

It's a cliche that absolutely kills immersion for me in fantasy RPGs. Casters always have the worst looking "armor".

Omg, that would totally work for the backgrounds too.

Maybe if you're a rogue then she catches you trying to steal from her and takes you into her custody to deal with you later, if you're a warrior then you help rescue her from a sh!t load of enemies and if you're a mage then maybe something similar to the warrior, or you're about to get killed and she comes to your aid instead *insert a bunch of different variations*.

*Cackles*

In DA:O my female mage Warden always ends up in full armour and carries a sword. I head canon that she's trying to play down the fact she's a mage as well as a Grey Warden because the group get enough sh!t as it is.

Y'know what else I'd like to see in DA3? The companions saving the protagonist every now and then. That's something ME3 done well with the DLCs. When Shepard got in trouble whoever you're romancing comes to your rescue automatically.

Agree. There were a few that were kickass, like the Champion armor. I also liked... urgh, I don't remember any of their names. This one.

The Fugitive's Mantle, but as DLC I don't know if that counts ;)

What we need is more mage pants. Or the option for the protagonist to be able to wear outfits from any class again.

So, I don't think I ever quite understood templar armor.

Are they wearing a... skirt/robe thing like the mages? Or is it more like a tabard covering their legs and they have pants on under that?

I mean come on, the templars have to have help getting in and out of that get up. There's no way a person could do that on their own.

Man, the graphics in SWTOR are crap, even with all the graphic setting set to high. I guess I'm getting picky in my old age.

I'm playing as a smuggler, but I'm stuck as a crappy human... I wanted to be a Twi'lek. *Sulks*

I think it's a long tabard with trousers/pants and massive boots, then the skirt thing wraps part way around the outside, then the upper armour goes over the top. Lots of layers from what I can tells.
