I might mod it so that everyone has Cullen's head, even the women. Then I'll take screenshots!

I never really got into WoW serious hardcore either, but it passed the time

I never played more than a couple hours at a time at the most. Just.. Could not do it. I've done a few raids using Looking For Raid but that usually ends up as a headache from the sirens coming off the whambulance.

This... Makes me wonder how DA3 multiplayer will work. ME3 multiplayer is fun, but I remember playing a game before and heard nothing but"GAWD STOP TAKING ALL MY KILLS YOU ALL SUCK GAWD YOU SHOULD JUST KILL YOURSELF" the whole game ;D

I wasn't hardcore when it came to WoW, but I did spend a lot of time learning fights and gearing up for raids, rather than just pvping (I hate pvp).

I am not that excited about the multiplayer aspect of DA3; I haven't tried ME3, but I've watched my fiance play it on both single player and coop.  If that's what coop is like in ME, then I think I might as well as stay away from it.  People do that in WoW too--and not just kills--resources like ore, same faction or not, and it pissed me off. ><

He'd face palm and back away slowly, I suspect. I'll test it out one day!

So apparently Jessica Merizan is making a DA3 related costume for something. I wonder if she'll wear it at E3? Or if the devs have something else planned for us shortly after?

Hm, there's a strange Cullen confession on the DA confessions Tumblr right now. Probably hasn't done much for our rep, lol.

... Why would anyone want to eat a crow anyway? Weird.

Ooh, sweet. She's been so focused on *cough*cough*ASUNDER*cough* that I'm going to guess... um... Evangeline?  Or... if it's someone we know, it's gotta be whoever the cameo is, right?  Cassandra?

Oooo, good point!

I bet it's either the new protagonist, Cassandra or, like you said, Evangeline. I wonder if anyone has ever made a Shale costume?

LOL "eating crow" is an expression for having to take something back that you said because you were wrong.

"Eating crow is an American colloquial idiom,  meaning humiliation by admitting wrongness or having been proved wrong after taking a strong position. "

edit: I never realized before it was a uniquely american saying!

R2: Omg that's amazing! It's a pity it's not possible to get all the best DA character cosplayers together for a photoshoot!

Ah darn, sorry I missed you getting to play SWTOR finally Lola, had to work until close tonight. MMOs are hard to get in to if you don't have a buddy, or better yet a whole group/guild to play along with. That's the main reason I played WoW for as long as I did, had an awesome guild with a bunch of awesome people who went on vent (voice chat) and joked around with each other. When I got thrown into guilds that took the game too seriously, that's when it became not so fun anymore and I quit.

Let me know which server you're on, and I can make a new character to level up with you!

Edit: Ohh! They finally added the Cathar race, Ima gonna go make me a kitty! :P

I just reviewed SWTOR's F2P formula. I'm not really sure I want to play it now lol. They make it seem like you're a second-class citizen. I don't really understand how you can lock things like hotkey bars without sub. That's something critical to gameplay, why would you restrict that?

Planetside 2 has a fantastic F2P formula that gives you access to the entire game without spending a dime. The only things you don't have available to you is cosmetic upgrades. All those cost money. Everything else you can buy with certs you earn in the game or you can spend real money to unlock it faster. I was kinda hoping SWTOR was sorta like that. Seems like it would segment the community the way their formula is setup unless you immediately sub.

In all honesty, it really is a suck-y game if you don't subscribe. My bf bought me a six month sub, so I still find it somewhat enjoyable. Not sure if I'll keep playing it once that runs out, and I would have to purchase my own subscription. I guess they have to make the money somehow!

I can't be anything but a human, a cyborg and something else. Everything else is locked and that's annoying.

Just finished saving the galaxy from the Collecters :D

Damn that felt good :D

I gotta tell ya, no game ending ever makes me feel the way an ME game ending makes me feel. I hope DA3 can rise that occasion. DA2 made me think, Wow, that was cool... but that's about it.

I can understand they need to make money but they could go about doing it in better ways. Some of the restrictions really make no sense. Like the hotkey bar one. What happens when you reach lvl 30 and you need an extra bar for your abilities? That's something that would really degrade a player's experience. I see they have a credit cap too. Can't imagine the impact on that for economy. Must suck for players putting items up but F2P players have no chance at buying because they can't pass a credit cap. So, that limits the audience of who you can sell items to. Just a lot of little things like that.

It would probably be smart if Bioware put a lot of cosmetic items overpriced like Planetside 2 in the game. I'm not sure if they do that now or not. I see guys running around in Planetside 2 with 10 different camos on each vehicle. A decal by itself cost $5. Each camo does too. Sony made $55 bucks that quick off a player. PS2 is the only F2P game I've liked and actually stuck with because it doesn't give you a bad user experience as a F2P player. You don't feel like you're second-class. Eventually, I ended up spending money in the game. That's better than giving me a bad first impression and pushing me away from the game forever.

But what do I know, I'm just a simple person. Not sure what Bioware/EA's economics are behind the game. Maybe they have no choice but to go about it this way due to the insane cost. I liked it in beta though. :crying:

ANYWAYS...how about dat Cullen?

I still liked the original endings in ME3 because it left a lot up to my imagination. I saw that ending as saying you can't make one ending that satisfies every player. Especially a game where you craft your story and personality. So...why not leave a few plot holes in there so you can imagine the ending exactly how you want? I don't believe every ending needs visual closure. Only in my head is what matters. I kinda like how David never really explained what happened to Hawke/Warden and I hope he never touches on it again. It should be left up to the player on what happened to our PCs beyond that.

Yes, all that is true, and DG is great, but I'm talking about how these endings make me FEEL, man! They're freaking amazing. Towards the end of the final scene, I'm inevitably jumping out of my chair like a moron and shouting, "YEAH! Shepard!" even though I'm the only one in the house (perhaps thankfully so). Then the credits roll, and the adrenaline is still pumping through me, and I'm just moved, and dazed, and of course in the case of ME3, overcome with emotion.

Just hasn't happened in DA yet, and I hope it will. I mean in ME2 just now Tali (whom I never particularly cared for) almost rolled off the platform, and Shepard was rushing towards her, and I literally cried out (again, like a moron), "Tali, NO!"

I have never cried out for a DA character lol

Which isn't to say I don't love the DA characters; in fact, I love most of them more than any ME character. There is just some magic taking place in that franchise that I hope the DA team (not just writers, also composers, artists, VA's, etc.) can tap into.

MMG, I have never cried from playing a video game like I did playing DA:O's ending for the first time. I literally couldn't get myself under control for an hour afterward.

Mass Effect was amazing, but it never elicited even remotely similar emotions from me. Just goes to show -- different strokes, right? :)

I actually shed manly tears at the end of ME3 and I'm not afraid to admit that. I never cry in games/movies either. For a game to invoke that kind of emotion in me is pretty incredible I would say.

The thing that made ME so emotional is it's the same characters through three games. It's a long journey you share together and that made it more personal for me. I prefer ME's method of storytelling over DA because of that. On the other hand, DA's storytelling keeps it fresh. You'll always see new cultures, new characters, new motives, etc. So they both have their positives/negatives to the way they tell stories. I do not think DA tests my emotions because I haven't devoted 6 years of my life with those characters. I still feel a lot for DA universe, just not like ME. Get what I'm saying?

Also, nice to see you're alive BYT :D

haha, THANKS!! I decided to go back to college this year and finish up late, and me being gone for the last three weeks or so was me completing all my final projects and graduating. Whew!! Missed you guys, though -- glad to be back!!

I think... that for me (this obviously isn't going to be universal) DA:O did the better job of hitting you hard with the cost, the sacrifice involved in saving the world and keeping your loved ones alive. Of course that all depends on the kind of ending that you chose, but Alistair sacrificed himself for me and I was NOT expecting that. As someone who has seen a lot of death in real life, it brought to the surface a lot of buried emotions, and then I had to suffer the indignity of being congratulated on my heroism for the last ten minutes of the game.

<--- cue BYT sobbing like a two year old with no birthday cake

ME3 almost got me there with the extended control ending. But I'm also super weird about that stuff -- the ending of the Notebook actually made me laugh. Like, hard. I've heard that that's an inappropriate response to that movie and it makes me utterly heartless, so don't anyone take my opinions too seriously.  Image IPB
