I had a good chuckle at your "hive-mind" comment, Lola. It's amazing to me how very quickly that thread became "RAWR! You're all crazy / stupid / suck / fangirly / pervs. " Meh. Good for them. I'm glad we could help them ease some of their rage issues. LOL
I do wonder if the screamers that flame so hard realize the irony in their righteous rants.
I don't know why they're all getting so up tight about it, it's a ****ing game.
It needs a "punch" button.

The ones that say something like "what other fans think I do," "what the developers think I do," "what David Gaider thinks I do," "what I think I do," "what I actually do" with a picture by it. like this one:

The "what non-Cullen fans think I do" part should totally be this.

I can't attest for the first two accusations (though originality did not cross my mind when I posted the thread), but I certainly did not target anyone.
I do not frequent the boards often, and found something that puzzled me. Apparently it's a sin to ask about it.

OK so I did come here, as you suggested, only to learn that I'm unoriginal (but apparently think I am), not classy, and that I target the fans.

We weren't aiming those posts at you, we were talking about how frequent the fan hate happens in general (which is a lot).
I know your thread wasn't meant to be offensive or derogatory, it's just that from experience they always devolve into a bash at the fans. That's not your fault though, it's just something that happens to most/all character related threads. Perhaps we've become cynical after the near-constant flow of hate we've gotten over the years. but please don't feel like we were attacking/insulting you because that's certainly not our intent.

Listen, we're not haters -- but you're part of a long line of fans who start these threads every 3-6 weeks and it takes weeks again for them to die down. And they are directed at the fans, say what you will. Spend 10 minutes googling Cullen and you'll see that for every fan site or positive comment there are two more calling us immature, delusional idiots. We can't just enjoy the game in peace. Do you realize that there are posters who literally DO NOT LEAVE THE CULLEN THREAD because every time they're seen with a Cullen banner at the bottom of their posts, they're harassed?
So no, I can't speak for anyone else in this thread but I am personally not amused. I'm not mad, but I don't approve of the way that was handled, or the way that instead of engaging in intelligent give-and-take discussion, you made every response a flat "No. it's not in the game" response.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by. That's actually quite something, and it's appreciated! As has been said, the thread topic is one in a very long line of identical ones that focus on why "people" like Cullen, more often phrased "why do fangirls like Cullen?", as opposed to just focusing on the character. As you saw, the very first response was for folks to start talking about US here and generalizing why WE like him, those crazy, hive-minded fangirls. I even saw folks starting to talk lore about mage-templar war, but say they should get back on-topic and talk about the fans. Once folks are invited to talk about the fans, particularly a fan group made of primarily of women... it devolves quickly.Kallimachus wrote...

Anyhoo, a good character discussion is always welcome, and I have no doubt your original intent was to talk character. It often starts that way...

You come across as extremely belligerent. From your pic to your tone, everything about you says you're on a war path. And frankly, that makes me defensive, and when I do I will sometimes say things I do not mean. I shouldn't have written the "wishful thinking" comment, and I apologize if it offended you, but I still must say I do not know where you got those assertions (and I played the game many times, I'm one of those weirdos who actually loved DA2, and that should be sufficient evidence that I know what it is to be attacked regularly on the forum, and why I seldom frequent it. I also lobbied long long ago for more gay LIs, you can guess how that went).
I certainly did not rebuff every comment with "No. That's not in the game" I only said it once, (and then repeated it when you accused me of being closed minded - which I certainly hope I am not). And I think your attacks on me were less than fair.
That said, I'm still interested in hearing why you think my assessment of Cullen is wrong.

Brushyourteeth, I first meant to tell you this in private but I don't know how to do it so I'll say this here, and hope you'll forgive me (especially as you seem to not mind analyzing me incorrectly in public).

LOL - okay, fair enough. I've sent you a private message (you'll see an alert for it on the top-left corner of the page or a little 1 next to the gray bar on the left under "messages") and we can talk this out.
I seriously chuckled out loud about the picture part because we frequently laugh about how b*tchy she looks.
