thought this one really stuck out

LOL, make no excuses for playing a Pro-Templar Mage! That is actually my game of choice! In my rivalmance, I'm hell bent on saving Anders from himself and Justice. By keeping him alive I feel like I'm helping him atone for what he's done, plus you get that sweet kiss at the end (always found his friendship romance lacking when he doesn't kiss you before the final battle, the other LI's I've played do). My head cannon always reverts to Hawke abandoning her viscount post to search for Anders in Tevinter (where I think he goes) and continue trying to save him. She's a tenacious sort of gal!Avorous wrote...

I'll never know, since I'm the 0.01% that has Anders die in my canon playthrough. *cough* Everyone will just have to tell me what happens if this situation arises in DA:I .
I killed Anders all of once and I will never do it again. Seriously traumatized me. I have done some horrendous things on my many playthroughs, but I will never kill Anders again. If I go pro-Templar and haven't had a rivalry with him to convince him to join the Templar side, I run and hide and let one of my party members kill him for me when you meet him battle. I'm sure I'm one of the few that likes DA2 Anders better than Awakenings Anders, though!
I love Anders to pieces actually, so much so that said playthrough is the very same one where he was in a Rivalmance with my Pro-Templar Hawke. Who was also a mage....
Yeah she had some issues. In my defence though, with the Rivalmance he's pretty much begging you at the end to kill him. Saying stuff about how he can't control Vengeance anymore and how he's a danger to everyone. I headcanon it as more of a mercy killing than an all out 'I'm angry with you so I'm going to kill you!' kind of thing. It's really depressing.
Tore me up inside after it was done but, it just made sense for that Hawke, you know?
Hnnnggg and all these quest ideas ya'll are throwing out, my next run I'll spare him and see what happens.
I've never cared that they were Bi. I always saw it as an option to let all gender and sexual orientation of players choose who they want to romance for their playthrough. It doesn't affect my chosen playthrough, because during that playthrough I see the character how my protag does. To me, Cullen will always be a straight male and that is how I'd play him, to someone else it may be different. Still doesn't change the way I'd play or how I see the character. I think DA2 did it right by not having the characters have dialogue indicating they were bi. If you played a straight game, the character was straight, if you played a gay game, the character was gay...except Anders, I think? I've never played a Male Hawke, so I don't know, but I've heard things.Dunquixote wrote...
Just out of curiosity, I think we might have discussed it at one point or another, but since we have more posters here, I want to bring it up again: if Cullen is a love interest in Dragon Age 3, would you want him to be straight or bi?
I personally don't see Cullen as being bi or gay (unless you mean gay as in happy)...but that's just me.
I didn't care for the fact that most of the companions in Dragon Age II could be romanced by either gender. I don't have anything against the option of romancing a character that's the same gender as yours, but I thought the number of characters that could romance both was "overdoing it." I don't know if that's the right way to put it. My apologies if I offended anyone.

I don't mind if Cullen is bisexual.
What I'd like to see is different/special dialogue and scenes for both Cullen x F!protagonist and Cullen x M!protagonist so that both romances feel unique and special to both genders, rather than having the same generic thing just with the "he" switched to "she" and visa-versa. .

Maker, YES! I so agree with this. I also felt that even the love scenes for rivalmances were odd. Sure they had a bit of different dialogue but the final jump-me scenes were the same and it felt odd considering the rivalry. In fact if they keep the rival romance for the next game, a completely different set of dialogue from the friend romance would be nice as well, sometimes it just didin't seem to mesh.LolaLei wrote...

The only real problem I'll have if he is bisexual/player-sexual is that I'd have a hell of a job making myself romance anyone else. If it wasn't for the fact that Alistair was straight I would've had to YouTube all the other romance options, LOL.
It didn't come off as disrespectful at all to me. I took it for what you meant it be.Dunquixote wrote...
Great points, everyone!
Oh! I didn't mean to sound disrespectful. To each their own. Err, anyways, nm. Sorry for bringing it up. I felt like I was boring and had nothing to contribute, so I tried to start a conversation. My apologies ><. I'm getting rusty at interacting with people online too, I guess.

It's a boring answer, but for my first playthrough (and the majority after) I always try to make my protagonist a prettier version of me. I tend to play through as a goody two shoes for the first playthrough, but for Inquisition I will do whatever it takes to nail Cullen in a pretty, lovely, romancy light.Avorous wrote...
Hmm, here's a question that is sort of Cullen related.
Assuming that Cullen is a romancable companion in DA:I, have you thought of what your protaganist is going to be lke when the game comes out? Whether it be personality, apperances, or affiliations? With those in mind, how do you think that Cullen will react, or interact with your character because of those things?
I feel like I just released an essay question. LOL

I actually would prefer gender to not make a difference ... I want the LI to treat my PC the same whether s/he is a guy or a girl.
That was not the case in DA2, which had gender specific dialogue. ANNOYING!!!
