Anyhoo, thanks for the comments, guys. Dunquixote, I just threw that little drabble together tonight. I finished it about 5 minutes before page 1800. LOL hence the mistakes.
Phew. Gotta take page 2000 more seriously. ! What were the theme ideas??

Probably something DA3 related mixed in with the Cullen-ness, since by then we'll have E3 info to work with.

I would feel guilty for taking up a spot because I'm not sure everyone realized we'd reach 1800 tonight o.o Though I can't really remember anyone else saying they would contribute. Maybe later if no one else requests a spot xD

Actually, MMG, can I ask your advice on capitalization?? Everytime I think/read about the rules, I start to jumble them up again in my head.motomotogirl wrote...

When Cullen and Mer are addressing each other as captain and commander... capitalize or not?? I typically capitalize, since I thought that was a formal title, like a proper noun, but I've seen it done differently. So, as you can see in my drabble, apparently I did it both ways! LOL
"You wanted to see me, Commander?"
“I see. That is all, captain.”
“Yes, ser.”
capitalize: commander, captain, ser???

Yes, they are capitalized when they are being used as forms of address. Similar to Mom and Dad.
"Hey, Mom!"
"Is that your mom?"
"Hello, Commander."
"Don't tell the commander I said that."

Thanks. Hmmm... but, in the last one, if she's the only commander, wouldn't it be capitalized? The Commander like the Queen? I mean she's the only queen of England, but there are queens elsewhere... See, this is where I start confusing myself!motomotogirl wrote...

No, I don't believe so. Only capitalize a title when it is used as a proper noun, with someone's name (also a proper noun).
"Presenting Queen Elizabeth II..."
"Have you met the queen of England?"
Also president... "The president of the United States of America addressed the UN today."
"Greetings, Mr. President." Etc.
I'm hardly a grammarian but I am pretty sure this is correct. We tend to overcapitalize (incorrectly) in English, maybe a throwover from German....

ALWAYS capitalize titles when used as forms of address ("Hello, Captain.")
Most of the time, do not capitalize titles that are by themselves without a proper name.
Capitalize or don't capitalize titles that are sans proper name but refer to specific persons, i.e. "The president/President" when referring specifically to President Obama (a specific person who is the only holder of that specific title; i.e. there are not other US presidents, just him). Simply be consistent within your document.
That's what I got for ya lol

I did do a bit of a crappy one based on Linda Jones 'Let me Come in' but I might tinker with it (I added a nug) and save it for another day!
MMG and R2 - love your stories. I really must do a playthrough with a female Hawke one day.

So mote it be! Thanks so much! Every time I read about it on internet grammar sources... it confuses me yet again. Don't even get me started on capitalizing chantry...motomotogirl wrote...

Newschmoo, it's never too late to add to page 1800. That's why we make sure to have placeholders for folks who didn't happen to be online. Anyhoo, if you've got something to add, lay it on us!! Lola and I can also copy it to 1800.Newschmoo wrote...
