Thanks, I kind of got the consensus that people weren't that impressed. I think people were expecting more on the game front. Better off getting a new PC (or upgrading) methinks.

I think it's worth noting, guys, that even though we get a lot of crap on some other threads, there are also a lot of kind and rational posters who will interject every time they see one of those threads to say that we don't deserve half of the ribbing that we get. Which I think is pretty awesome.

I'm not that impressed with the new Xbox. It seems they have made it possible for it to run cooler, but with no backwards compatibility and no disk sharing...I'll pass.

My PS3 and Xbox360 have lasted a long time, I plan to keep them for as long as they'll let me. My PS3 really needs to be cleaned though...I can hear the fans going nuts.

Yeah... They are doing it with the PS4 as well; there are rumors they will eventually make it backwards compatable, but it's not a sure thing.

Without being able to run others' discs, how will we be able to play games with our friends at their homes? Or try a copy out to see if we want to buy it? Or rent from a video store?

I haven't a clue, m'dear, and it doesn't make sense to me either. That is what I got from the numerous articles I read. I share my games with a friend ALL the time - it's her way of trying out a game before she commits to buying it. The gaming industry just wants us to spend more money, I guess.

LOL No worries, Chanda. Sounds like you're in right place! You'll find most of us avoid the main threads as well, as there's often plenty DA3 news to be had here.

So keeping this Cullen-related, I'm really excited about the new Frostbite Engine that will be used for DA3. How do you think Cullen's character will look with it? I know the basic coloring (blonde hair, hazel eyes, etc) will be the same, but the changes just from DAO to DA2 were pretty significant in how he looked. So I'm curious how he'll turn out.

^^no opinion really since my experience with the engine is limited to watching my bf play battlefield. As far as graphics go released pics of the landscapes look pretty amazing so I have high hopes. I'd like Cullen to maintain high similarity if possible but hey I'll be happy if he plays major role in da3... I'm not picky ;]

Don't know much about engines in general so can't comment on that really....

But I think Cullen's big makeover happened in DA2. We aren't likely to see him evolve anymore, appearance wise. Just like I don't expect Isabela to show up with a totally new look. Or Alistair, or anyone.

If a minor character gets made major though (a la Isabela in DAO to DA2) then I would expect possible changes. Like if Lia or Charade became a companion.
