I blame Tevinter blood sacrifices and Corypheus.

Definitely could of added in a quest where we actually went inside the Gallows and saw first hand what some of the templars think is ok to do to the mages.

Remember when "Cullen is Wynne's son" was a theory? :P

*collapses into thread* I'm here! Oh my goodness, this night did just not want to end. Closing is the absolute worst <_<

Just skimmed over the last page, I'll try to to a more extensive catch up tomorrow.

I thought Wynne's lover was Gregoir? Didn't it say that in Asunder? I might have interjected that in when I was reading that Rhy's father was a templar.

No, just that he was a templar. She was specifically cagey about it. (but I could totally see it being Greagoir, too!)

Even if they say it's someone else, or just some random templar, I'll still totally believe it was Greagoir. They don't even have any interaction in the game (that I can remember) so I'm sure this stubborness is completely unfounded....but I believe it!

That woulda been so awesome. Oh.

I remember after one quest where they kidnap your fam/li. With Thrask and Grace. At any rate, I choose kill ''em all usually..cuz reasons.

Point is, I remember going back to the gallows and asking Cullen abt Thrask's men. And he said, "didn't you see them when you came into the gallows..." . Meredith was making an example outta them.

Idk...what exactly happened. I'm assuming they were executed in a horrific manner and strung up sum kinda way for all to see.

That woulda made quite an impact on me to actually see the grissly repercussions of that particular choice. Instead of just hearing abt it.

Unless I missed it. Lol! Did I walk right by it somewhere?

But yeah, Kirkwall was definitely sitting on a vortex of crazy. All the crazy stuff was happening there. Corypheus. The whole Bone Pit juju which thinned the veil incredibly from all the..horrors.

It's not a good place to relocate to.

Bah! My iPad sucks for replying! It won't let me scroll down.
@rapscallioness, I kill them all on that quest too, and yes, the first time I talked to Cullen afterwards about it, I did run back to the Gallows entrance and looked up to see if I'd missed bodies. There was nothing. Even when approaching the gallows by boat during the end battle I looked for bodies and again, nothing.

Man, I would've loved to have gotten a quick cutscene as we entered the Gallows and seen them all strung up with the birds pecking around them... maybe they thought it would be too graphic and that's why they didn't?

Tried doing a quoted reply from my phone once....it was awful.

See, that's something that annoys me a bit. I'm supposed to believe that throughout the entire time that Hawke lives there, Kirkwall doesn't change in the slightest? I mean, throw some new stray barrels or something into the mix at the very least! A cheesewheel, anything!

Originally they said that Kirkwall would change over time and that the choices you made would have a big effect on the environment, but it didn't. We did get that statue, but it looked more like Aveline standing on the Arishoks head.

That was a total cop out. Even Fable 2 was able to make the statue look like your protagonist AND they done the changing environment thing really well.

I imagine they coulda done a milder version. I wished they had. And without their helmets, or whatever face covering. So that you see real ppl there. All the face covering depersonalizes the enemies.

Maybe that's the point? Or, maybe its just a resource saver to cover alot of faces.

But if they had done a quick scene w/them strung up, I'd wanna see their faces.

Nothing like seeing it.

Wait!? A statue!? I completely missed that on all 80 of my playthroughs! Where is it?
It bothered me that my gang never changed their clothes in seven years unless you slept with them.

I know! Omg...I love Fable 2 so much. I mean, the female Hero always looked cross eyed, and I hated how she pretty much turned into she-Hulk if I put any points in her strength, but still, great game that gave me so many feels (I save my dog every damn time)

I remember participating in a Q&A livestream with Laidlaw, and I asked that question (if the world will change over time depending on our choices) but it got passed over for the same 'ol "who can we romance?" crapola that he would just answer with a look. Yea....I'm still a bit bitter, don't judge me!

@Twice It shows up at the Docks after Act II. It has a flaming sword at night if you still can't spot it.

Oh gawd, um... it's somewhere in Lowtown. You definitely see it right at the end when you battle your way to the Gallows, there's a bunch of templars surrounding this one female mage right in front of the statue, she turns into an abomination and summons a sh!t load of demons.

Oh! That statue! I never noticed it was new or that it was supposed to be Hawke. Now I'm slightly disappointed that I've seen it and was completely oblivious as to what it was. <_<

See, I always thought---and it may be my head canon---that the statue was propaganda. Especially if I'm playing a fem mage.  Well, they wouldn't want sum mage statue up there for all to see that saved the city.

I took a double take tho, I was like wait..is that supposed to be me? It looks like a friggin' Templar. Maaaybe if I tilt my head a certain way I can make out sum fem curves, but....

And heck, if that's what they did to Hawke's image--in her lifetime--I can only imagine how much Andraste's statue have been "tweaked" over time.

But, that's head canon. Lol!

I didn't realise either, until someone pointed it out in here. I just presumed it was supposed to symbolise "Kirkwall" defeating the Qunari in general lol.

And furthermore, why isn't that statue in Hightown? What an insult to Hawke! The Champion gets a crumby statue in Lowtown.

Lol! I know, right? Friggin' Lowtown. That statue wasn't begrudging, was it?

Ah, it's time for me to sleep.  Good night all! :kissing:

Perfect! I like the way you think. I am going to adopt this head cannon so that I can quell my disappointment in the statue and my obliviousness to it.

Lol, she was all, "Put it in Lowtown and make sure it resembles nothing of Hawke...Heck, just to be sure, I'll carve the damn thing myself!"

Sooo... Cullen. What will his role be in DA3? Any ideas? Will he go to Orlais on his own, or be summoned there as someone who was witness to the downfall of Kirkwall's circle, Kirkwall's templars, and the destruction of the cathedral? Will he be assigned to the protagonist like Alistair was assigned to the Warden? Or will we pick him up in our travels, like we did with Oghren or Zevran?

I believe this the perfect moment to plug my Cullen speculation video:

Sorry for being such a terrible correspondent. I am really ashamed of myself.
As a (probably inadequate) apology, I come bearing a morsel of pseudo-info. Kinda... if you squint. Metacritic has posted an entry for DA:I, and it includes cover art that looks a lot like Morrigan. Also, it shows a release date of 2013 and it's shown for the PS3, X360, and PC platforms, so maybe we won't all have to go out and buy new gaming rigs. The PS3 one is the only one that has cover art posted.

This is an awesome find! Thanks.

I'm so far behind this thread right now. Ya'll moving too fast for me to keep up anymore. :(
