Not much to go on, but sounds like a quest set-up to me. I just don't think they would invent such an obviously-meant-to-be-mysterious place and then not use it. :D

I don't think I noticed that one.

For those without the book, it was the home of an early human tribe of tevinters. It says "Not much is known about this kingdom, which is said to have completely disappeared after losing favor with the Old God Dumat. All that remains is a path and bare rock."

Yea, I just looked at that part. I could totally see it being a big quest where you find those lost ruins either on purpose or by accident. Possibly discovering the entire lost kingdom itself. That would be pretty cool.

I really can't wait to see what Bioware has done with Frostbite. They've never really been known as a big graphics dev. Could you imagine seeing ruins you never thought possible? Minus the cheese wheels too.

I wanna see those fiery skeletons come out of the water in the Fade. Apparently they aren't monsters, just sleeping dreamers wandering around.

I've found myself growing more and more curious about the dwarves lately than anything else

I reaaallly want to see wtf happened to Kal-Sharok. And the Stone. I kept getting the impression the Stone may actually be some sort of living entity? Apparently "under Orlais".

It is referred to as "She", maybe Flemeth is the Stone too. :P

If some of the DAI artwork is in the book, then I maybe we are going to go to Nevarra. The artwork on p54 of the book is of the Nevarran crypts. There also appears to be what looks like a female Qunari as one of the characters (or my eyesight is failing).

I am sooo looking forward to visiting new places.

Oh god! What if what's under the stone is another powerful demon that made a deal with one of the ancient Dwarves to always worship her/him/it and that's what they've been doing for centuries and the reason they are mostly immune to pure lyrium.

Here's something else I thought was interesting: (R2 will laugh at me -- she thinks I'm insane!) Posted Image

This is a portrait of Endrin Stonehammer, the original paragon Aeducan, who was alive at least 900 years before the birth of Andraste. Now, someone care to tell me what that is painted on his midsection?

oooh.

Maybe members of the original Inquisition knew of something we don't and we'll be seeking hidden clues all throughout Thedas to figure out what they're trying to warn us about and how to stop it? :o
I'd love a death defying scavenger hunt.

/e-cliffs self

it just... sounds like an inquisition-y thing to do...

i'm bored.

He looks like Doctor Robotnik!

... That's the Chantry symbol! Or possibly half the Inquisition symbol. Maybe the Chantry was based on some previous religion, so it sorta evolved or something?

Funny, since Dwarves don't see the sun unless they go top-side. Which means its something he pick up whilst above ground. Maybe he converted or whoever made it thought it would look regal?

Endrin Stonehammer: The second king of Orzammar after Garal and the most famous of the dwarven Paragons. He is called as First Paragon probably because he was the first dwarf who ever was elevated in that position. He is credited with having built Stonehammer Hall. He has also forged a strong alliance with the Imperium as well as attended the first match of the Grand Proving arena in Tevinter.
-DAWiki

He definitely went outside if he forged an alliance with Tevinter, unless the Tevinter people lived underground too :?

that's the sort of thing I'm thinking too. That symbol definitely meant something pre-Andraste and the Chantry just picked it up hundreds of years later. Posted Image

There's a legacy to the Andrastian religion that probably most Chantry folk don't eve know about unless they're really high up. It's like the illuminati!

It's half the sun symbol. Perhaps that was the Seekers/Inquisition's insignia first? (Since they are rumoured to have once been one and the same), then the Chantry adapted it and added it to there's.

Well, they could have. But that's an extremely stylized sun. With the wavedy arms and everything? And dwarves, even dwarves who have been to the surface, aren't fond of it. They like their stone, they like their deep roads, and anyone who would willingly live on the surface is crazy. So the only explanations I can come up with are

1.) the artists just made a very curious visual mistake (unlikely, in my humble opinion)
2.) Stonehammer really liked the sun (also unlikely, in my humble opinion)
3.) The sun meant something important even back then
4.) it was a gift from someone in Tevinter, plus #3
5.) The Chantry took it from Stonehammer (again, I think that's unlikely)

I'm sure everything that might sound bad or iffy was probably covered and buried waaaay back when the chantry was first formed. Maybe if we find information such as this out, we can choose whether or not to reveal it and thus, boom goes any reign the chantry had left?

Can't have anything to cause major doubt now, can we?

Heck, could be as simple as "lol Andraste was a mage."

Well, that was #1.  Posted Image

But I really don't think they'd do that. For one, they were really deliberate about the artwork they included in the book. For another, who accidentally paints a human religious symbol from 900+ years in the future on a dwarven lord? That takes way too much effort to be a mistake. These artists know more about the lore than even we do.

I really like the sound of this. Like piecing together parts of an ancient puzzle relating to the big bad (or whatever it will be). Sounds quite epic. I really must go to work!

I hope this "singing" thing is explained too

Sing the Chant of Light at all corner of the world

Lyrium sings

Archdemons sing

"Why dance? Why not sing!" Flemeth comment

that's assuming that the Chantry even knows that Stonehammer ever wore the symbol. All the records of him would be kept by the Shaperate rather than humans, and even the Shaperate would likely either ignore the symbol or comment on how strange it was that it was non-traditional. They may have not even known it was the sun.

But the point is that it meant something to somebody way before Andraste was even born. And if Stonehammer war it, he probably wasn't the only one it meant something to. So what on earth could that mean?

If Andraste was a mage, I wonder what Cullen would say/do?
