Just got through reading that hate thread and was crafting a rationilzed response for that one BSNr and her "facts" but it was locked. Gotta love how they're ignoring the qualifiers of their fellows regarding how much they're "hearing about Cullen lately". Lately? Uh, lately we haven't started threads for him. Sure, there are a lot of Cullen threads started by fans from when he first reappeared in DA2 but recently? Most of the threads bearing the name "Cullen" - and even a few that don't - have all been started by someone whose goal is to bash the character and/or his fans. That poster's "facts" conveniently ignore that recent complaints are about supposed recent activity of which there is none. Furthermore, many of those "neutral threads" are blatantly not neutral but, of course the wording doesn't seem hostile or biased to Facts Person because she sees them with the same biased lenses. >=[

I thought what you said regarding the "facts" was downright perfect. I'd hug you if I could.

It IS always like this, unfortunately. But the good news is that there are a lot more people out there who couldn't care less about our interest in Cullen or who stick up for us when the hate gets crazy than there are haters. They're just so freaking loud.

I was reading a case for Cullen to be in DA3 that someone has up on a tumblr and saw this interesting part that they got from an interview with David Gaider (you guys have probably already seen this but it's new to me) where they say:

"Also, good news—[Gaider] mentioned an interest in maybe revisiting
Cullen!! He described Cullen as someone who has had his good faith
broken twice—once by the mages in the circle, who he trusted, and then
by Meredith, who he also trusted. Gaider expects “angst” in his future,
which we may see in the series. I hope so!"

So how do you think "angsty" Cullen will be? And do you think it will be Cullen that is angsty, or do you think it will be more his situation that is angsty? I'm hoping for the latter.

Can't say I recall the Kaiden thread but since DA2 ended, I've noticed an uptick on the anger management issues re:Cullen. Maybe it just that there's no one else to sling insults at yet. If it continues after they announce more new companions then we'll have to hire Sten as our bouncer.

Cullen threads on the DA3 forum usually turn into that, yes. Even when started with good intentions.

Only thing I remember about Kaidan was chilling in his ME2 thread before and after it came out. As far as I knew, everybody hated Kaidan and then all of a sudden ME3 came out and he seems rather popular to the point you can say you like him without getting laughed at.

What the hell was going on in the ME3 character forums that got the whole bloody thing closed down?

You get a warning for what? 

Cullen fans get attacked constantly. I'm okay with people constantly make comments like hoping to be able to gut him which clearly just to get a rise out of his fans. It starts to get ridiculous when people attack his fans and call them shallower than a puddle of water or portray them as constantly making threads to gawk over him. They're sick of hearing about Cullen, but guess what, so are we? We're sick of people constantly making threads talking about him. Most of the Cullen fans have been very civil in our response to those Cullen threads, but for some reasons, the insults just won't stop. Seeing as how I am an Alistair-Kaidan-Anders fan, I'm used to it. I must have a need for punishment for keep choosing the most hated LIs.
