My bad!
Exactly! It doesn't really matter where they take his story, so long as it's done well. And if he is a companion/LI it really isn't important if he doesn't behave how we've come to imagine him, I'd just be happy that we finally got him!
Besides, the main characteristics we've treated as head canon so far are attributes he's displayed in both games already, like his slight flustered awkwardness when it comes to topics of a sexual nature or his own feelings for someone, his PTSD, his constant struggle to do what's right etc, those are all traits the writers gave him themselves so its not like we've pulled this stuff out of thin air.
I know right?! We didn't conjure up Cullen's core set of characteristics out of wishful thinking! lol!

All the pontificating we do about his life before, is he the child of a mage, did he have a family, etc. is all wild speculation on our part. Here's the Big Shocker: We. Know. This. That's stuff that we all have our own stories for - and many of us have multiple backstories - but that's also the stuff that the writers needn't fear overriding. We KNOW we can't have our headcanons. We can't all be right! LMAO! If the writers keep Cullen's core personality, the one THEY came up with, and give him a decent story - even an evil one, I'll be happy. As far as I know we'll all be happy! There's a difference between a fan and a psycophant.
