@R2^pre-ec if you wanted "the best" outcome, you needed to play the multiplayer, I.e. sp campaign was dependant on mp :/

Yes, basically, to get the best outcome, indeed, to get ALL THREE choices (not even including the "special ending" ... don't want to spoil too much in case you haven't played), you had to have a VERY high readiness score. That "readiness" score is basically how "prepared" the galaxy is to combat the bad guys. In ME3, you run around convincing people to join your fight to save the galaxy... the more people who join you, the higher your score.
Unfortunately, if you didn't import an ME1 and 2 game, you were simply NOT given certain choices that would allow your readiness score to be at optimal level. The game assumed that certain people died, etc. and so could not join your team. (Or basically assumed that if you had played the previous two games, you would have been a complete JERK and gotten half your friggin squad killed...).
Additionally, and inexplicably in regards to the storyline, you could play MP and thus increase your readiness score. What does playing MP have to do with whether or not your Shepard successfully gathers forces to defeat the reapers. ABSO-FCUKING-LUTELY NOTHING. Just a ploy to get, nay force, people to play MP.
So essentially you could spend 60 dollars on this game, do every mission and every quest, be 100% paragon, do everything perfect, and still fail utterly at the end.
So, yeah. Let's not do that DA team. PLEASE!

What's worse is that ME3 team promised that multiplayer would be optional only. To be honest, I don't see the DA team doing something that stupid, especially since all eyes are now on them. People are expecting them (and wanting them) to fail... which is why I think they've been so careful and tight lipped with DA3, they didn't want to show us anything until they knew for certain that they were ready.

This was my biggest pet peeve, that you could make all the crappy decisions, ignore all the side quests and still get all the endings. Way to keep immersion. uhh, I hope its as Lola says, and theyvwill find a different way to promote mp.motomotogirl wrote...

I'm wondering if it'll be like an online multiplayer arena, dungeon crawling or simple hack 'n' slash against waves of enemies, or something like that. I'd prefer to keep multiplayer away from the single player campaign itself though, like I wouldn't want it to be like Fable where other heroes can come in and start messing with your game etc.

To me, true MP is straight up kicking a-s-s. You hunt and find and kill your friends and then talk sh!t to them lol Or you and some friends join a group of strangers and hunt and find and kill the other team.
This fighting waves of AI is just... soulless, IMO

Yeah, those were just the only things I can think of that seem like obvious choices. Personally I'd much rather keep Dragon Age as single player only.

Btw, the 1900 mark probably will be reached even before E3. And then the "mayhem" will begin...

Dear Maker, indeed, do NOT want MP interfering with my SP game. no way. I could see stand-alone dungeon crawls if they're totally separate and parallel... Like Legacy DLC, but obviously smaller dungeons. I could also see arena PVP... Not that I'd participate in it. (Ugh, hate PVP)motomotogirl wrote...

Of course, a Hanged Man tavern where the Cullen thread could converge and hang out would be awesome!

I guess it can be a "speculation fatigue". It is a common condition that develops when you have no new info about a game and go in circles over the little tidbits you actually know...LolaLei wrote...
Hm, I seem to have gone full circle again. After discussing whether or not Cullen will be a companion/LI and the high possibility that he won't be I've lost interest in the bloody game again.

I guess if they HAD to kill my gaming experience and force some MP, they could stick it into something like Orzamar's proving arena. You have to fight someone.... may as well lose my butt to one of you guys. lolR2s Muse wrote...

We'd probably get to play as different races and just change the colours of their skin/hair/clothes etc, again like ME3 multiplayer.

This is why MP and RPGs just... don't seem to go together to me. The RPG is all about the amazing story and characters... you spend hours creating your own character, then get emotionally swept away as you go through the narrative, making crucial choices that result in either wonderful or terrible things.
MP is about having fun with friends... you don't need a narrative at all. Seriously, who played Halo for the narrative. Gimme a break.

I could totally see something like that. Like, one of those Tervinter "test your might" in the pit against monsters and enemies etc. They had something similar in Jade Empire actually, except it wasn't multiplayer.

Come to think of it, if we really are part of the Inquisition then chances are the "characters" we play as in multiplayer would be agents of our Inquisitor carrying out objectives for coin/info/"readiness" *shudders*, then anything we earn/find/etc during multiplayer gets sent straight back to our protagonist in the single player campaign and unlocks a bunch of weapon sh!te we won't even use.
