Agreed, it'll only turn into another flame thread and/or people attacking each other for listing a companion someone wants to murder who they consider to be their favourite.

I just think we should let the dust settle for a while, soon enough there will be another wave of Cullen hate for you to post your thoughts in... and then we'll go in there, do the usual and get it closed down, LOL.

Yes, I have to ask that Samara not post her thread because it purports to speak for all Cullen fans, and I don't feel comfortable with that.

Regarding Templar Hugh: If I can't have Cullen, I'd happily do Hugh.

Sorry this made me chuckleImage IPB!  Hugh is quite cute but he is also spoke up against Meredith (had to check the wiki)

I totally forgot about Hugh, he never died either so maybe he'll show up with Cullen in DA2?

I'm laughing because mentioned Hugh totally offhand and now we're talking about doing him lol I don't even know which one he is. I thought he was the fugly one with the moustache. I guess he's the other one, but I can't remember what that one looks like.

Come to think of it, I'm fully expecting Cullen to show up (be it a cameo or just before recruiting) with a small bunch of his Kirkwall templar recruits with him.

Nikki totally beat me to it  Cullen never goes anywhere with his bad a-s-s b!tches...

He's kinda cute... no where near Cullen's caliber of hawtness, but definitely one of the better looking npcs.

Deuce that was an interesting piece on female gamers. Brushyourteeth knows some good reports on this area. I do find the subject interesting. The industry needs to take account of female gamers more. Link here to ESA game data

www.theesa.com/facts/gameplayer.asp

47% of all players are female. Also states that "adult females represent a greater portion of the gamer-playing population (30%) than boys aged 17 years or younger (18%). I don't know why guys have an issue playing a female character like Lara Croft. She's a tough character.

That is why I love Bioware games so much, because I can play a character that I want.

BTW I had totally forgotten about Templar Hugh. I did like Lia though, sweet and compassionate.

Edit - trying to do a link on a tablet is a pain!

I forgot to tell you guys that I DID finish my research project on attitudes toward females in gaming. It's only bachelor's level work, but if anyone's ever bored enough to read all 18 (?) pages of it I could find a way to link it (trust me when I say it's not worth it) though I'd probably do better to just put up some of the highlights sometime.

Long story very short: you can't necessarily say that the majority of male gamers are sexist, but you can safely say that every time a female gamer is in a situation where she's revealed as female, she has a statistically significant chance of being responded to in a gender-specific manner (whether sexually or aggressively).

I didn't get the chance to get very deep into the "why," although I did include some studies on voice tonality and how they effect non-visual communication. Giving guys the benefit of the doubt, it does seem that lower female voices are naturally grating to the male psyche, while high female voices naturally trigger arousal. Of course that still doesn't excuse this kind of behavior, (NSFW) but hey. Image IPB

I would have liked to also include interactions between female gamers and other female gamers, and whether there was an "Oh hi, another girl! *girl-fist of unity*" effect, but alas, in all my hours of gathering data I never encountered another female player who was willing to reveal herself.

Looking up this picture of Hugh totally reminded me of the big problem I had with all the DAII ear-hair. Image IPB

Also, did anyone else feel like we needed more eyebrow options in the last few games? No? Just me? I'm the only eyebrow person? Image IPB

I'm still not ok with the MP idea...why is it, that MP is always getting shoved down our throats? "you can't get full experience unless you play MP"... Total BS lol. I'm not the biggest fan of 'people' per say, why do I have to play with them? When all I really want to do, is play, privately, by myself with a bunch of NPCs and random mobs.

That's my issue with it...just saying...

There's many other MMORPGs I play. When I feel like it. I don't like the idea of any of my fave solo RPGs having to go MP on me. And then have to get a live account...or pay for an account to play...or blah blah blah blah blah. I hear or see MP, what I really see is "MORE MONEY" . I stick out my tongue at that. The end.

End rant

I've never been really down with MP either. I just don't care much for sharing my game with others. When I play, it's my 'me time' -my character decisions, my playthrough, my experience. Call me selfish, but I feel like it's invading my personal space having to play online with a bunch of strangers.
i know someone mentioned ME3 MP a few pages back about needing the MP to get all ending options before the EC was released and I completely, 100% agree with their livid emotions towards that.

Can't agree more. I go to a game to get away from RL. LOL

In general I agree with this completely too -- but then (hypocrite that I am) I ended up completely LOVING ME3's MP. So if it's going to happen, I'll keep an open mind. I just hope it doesn't take anything away from the single-player experience. Otherwise it's harmless and might even turn out to be kinda cool.

No, you are right. The eyebrow options were pretty much hideous, save for one set.

Eyebrows and hair. I also didn't like that everyone had huge pores. But that's me projecting my own self loathing. lol

I'd love to get a decent set of bangs for a female.

You mean thick straight edge bangs don't do it for you? Even Charade couldn't quite pull that off. That saying, if Charade returns, please give the poor girl a decent haircut for crying out loud.

Ha ha, like the Aveline reference. And Fenris did need some pore minimizing mattifying primer!

My hope for DA3 is good hair (it's my bug bear) and good beards (ones that don't suck the face in when you apply them). I am hoping that the Frostbite engine makes a difference.

Brushyourteeth I would be interested to read your paper.

If you don't mind sharing I would love to have a peak. That would be a treat :] And I don't mind going through 18 pages, since I'm used to reading psych articles/reports.

No idea why they felt the need to add this bit of "realism", when the overall art style was on the cartoon-y side. Personally, I want more lip shapes, distinctive ones, so there is noticeable difference... And support more brows, since I used one style all the time.

Oooo that too! I think more customisation in the CC would be preferable all round. I like my protagonist's to look as individual as the companions, but often that's not possible unless you use the default models.

@Brush & Deuce: Sad to head about the expansion to DD, I was planning on getting it but now I'll have to see. Good to know everyone playing aren't total creeps though, I just had a male mage wearing nothing but leather straps and boots.

The cc could use some work overall, but I would focus on the hair if I were bioware. It just looks like plastic. I did manage to make a better looking male hawke than my male Shep, but I put that down to custom hawke being a very pretty man.

Oooo intriguing:

Cameron Lee: "Looking at a scene with a returning character. Attractive! #DA3"

I bet it's Leliana or Cassandra.
