I forgot to add, about Mark of the Assassin, when I met Teagan at the party and suddenly hear "Who is this woman, Teagan?" I literally yelled "GAAAH!!! What's SHE doing here?!" lol Poor Teagan just can't get rid of that woman.

Speaking of which, I wish there was a way to romance Teagan. I've always liked him.

LOL, I wished so hard that there was an option to throw a drink in her face!!!

I swear they're having an affair!

I had that impression in Origins, but then Teagan seems like such an honorable man... Maybe it's just because Isolde is Orlesian, she thinks all the men belong to her?

Woah, I totally didn't know that! So, if you rivalmance Anders Justice will randomly pop up to tell Hawke off? I wonder if I can find a vid of all those scenes on YouTube?

It's close to the end if I remember correctly, Anders suddenly turns into Justice and yells at you to leave Anders alone and you can back talk, when Anders turns back into Anders again he mentions that he's been blacking out more and more these days. I hope youtube has it, because I'm not sure if I ever saved my game before the dialogue. I could go check and copy out the dialogue if I've got it handy.

I always friendmanced him too, until I started siding more and more with Templars. I hate killing Anders (I actually always let a party member do it in the fight) and I had heard if you rivaled him he'd join the you with the Templars and you wouldn't have to kill him. The rivalmance is a bit darker, because Anders isn't in control of Justice at all and he black out every so often when you talk to him with Justice suddenly taking over and yelling at you. They really play up his possession in the rivalmance.

That's really interesting! I wonder if rivalmance Hawke's beliefs about mages and Justice make his condition worsen, whereas a friendmance Hawke's support gives him the strength to keep things under control? Or if a rival Hawke is just less blind to the warning signals and the story reflects that.

I can't seem to find that one on YouTube, I never realised how many variables there was in DA2.

That's in his skilltree, actually. If you are friends with him, he can keep Justice in check, but if you rival him, he has a harder time with it.

Well, in his specs thing if you friendmance him it says that with Hawke's support he is able to keep Justice under control, so I guess that he's just more sane if you're nice to him. His frustration and feelings of helplessness must just make things worse for his mental health if you rivalmance him.

I do have it saved! Give me some time and I'll copy out the dialogue. It's his last Questioning Beliefs conversation. I did help him with Chantry quest, so I think that gave me more Anders convos in the end. Going to off to copy words.

My god, he sounds mental as hell in that one!

"Being with you, loving you, I thought it would make a difference"
- Um, so you kinda got into a relationship with Hawke because you thought it would tame the beast? Cheers Anders, jerk.

They're both just so broody. Anders and Fenris, I mean. I'm sick of them both. And I don't want to mance Isabela or Merrill.

I hope Bioware gives us some good options in Inquisition. And if Cullen is one of them, I hope they don't change him and make him a nutjob.

In the rivalmance you can see that half the stuff coming out of Anders mouth is Justice's doing, the way he talks is completely different, I reckon even in the friendmance version blowing up the Chantry is Justice's doing, it's just that he has no reason to tell Hawke off because you're essentially on the same side. Anders even mentions that perhaps he's wrong and stuff, but it sounds like Justice convinces/stops him from preventing the Chantry blowing up.

Yep. And in Legacy, Anders also mentions how not only is he merged with Justice, but eventually as a Grey Warden he'll have to go through the taint sickening him and being drawn to the deep roads for his calling. He says, "You should find someone else, love. You don't want this much ugliness in your life."

Cullen probably won't be an easy romance, if he is one. I can imagine him being a bit of a pain in the arse at times, but I don't reckon he'd be a crazy nutjob... unless we do something to him/allow him to end up in a situation that could drive him loopy, I guess.

I wonder if it was the taint or his anger that corrupted Justice? It's a shame since it's not just one person who was changed by their ideal, but two... or three if you count Hawke, lol.

Both of them are so corrupted. You can tell it's not Anders talking even before Justice gives Hawke a bollocking.

wow. I wonder, does Justice pop out like that if you're not romancing him??  I'm realizing now that although I prefer rivalling Anders, I just can't bring myself to help him plant the bomb anymore. I can't stand the accusation from Sebastian that I 'knew about this'! LOL

Okkies, my playthrpough dialogue options were a bit different than the two you guys found, but I went the more antagonistic/sarcastic route. It's pretty much the same except after Justice tells you to leave you have the option to tell Justice to let Anders go to which he replies "I am Anders!" then it goes into the "You have given in to sloth! You would stand by while mages are abducted and tortured!" I got an agrier sounding dialogue b/c there was no reasoning bit inbetween or convincing Anders otherwise.

I'm terrible, I can't stand to see any of the companions in a bad way.

Which kinda sucks because it means I either lose Seb or Anders and since my Hawke romances Anders and knows that it's Justice that drove Anders to bomb the Chantry, I let him off and lose Seb.

Ha ha! I like to feign ignorance and pretend that my Hawke really truly believed he was working on a potion to seperate himself from Justice. Not so far off from my very first DA2 playthrough, b/c yeah, I really did believe his lie and I really did think the potion was going to kill him. Had no idea what he was really doing, even with the chantry. Sigh. Tam Hawke, so naive...Image IPB

Oh gawd, so by that point Justice now thinks he's Anders. I never fully realised how bad Anders situation could get.
