I'm not sure. The survey leak says 12 but the devs said that there wouldn't be that many, they didn't confirm how many we'd get though. DG also said that we shouldn't pin our hopes on those characters being companions otherwise we'd be disappointed... whether that counts for all, or just some I've no idea.

It's interesting that he just says that's incorrect. He doesn't say whether there will be more or less than ten.

E3 needs to get here now. We need information.

What's great is that they're gonna tell us some more info after E3 too, probably a few weeks after once we've thoroughly dissected the E3 info.

yeah, it's one of the few times I've seen a dev directly address the survey leak... and even then it's not direct! LOL It reminds of Joe vs. the Volcano "Who said that? I didn't say that. If I said that... I woulda been wrong..."

and, I dunno. Everyone worries about that being so many... but DA:O had 10, and DA2  had 9 + dog+Tallis, if you include DLC companions.

Looking again at the companions from the survey, and the fact that the survey was just testing the waters, I don't expect all those companions to make it into the game. I would love, love, love for Sebastian to be a companion again... but interestingly no one ever talks about him, despite Starkhaven featuring in the cancelled expansion.

LOL Maker, I wonder how bad the forums will be if Seb were announced as a follower... I wonder if it would be worse then the vitriol Cullen receives.

At first I thought she looked like one of those dress up doll creators, which was what initally made me think that the survey leak was a fake, lol. I don't think she'd be a companion though, she kinda looks like she'd be someone that would work closely with the protagonist behind the scenes... kinda like Traynor in ME3.

Trident guy is curious too, I wonder if maybe he was just an example of an npc we'd encounter in/around Thedas. I wish I could get a decent close up view of the two supposed protagonists.

Yeah, those two are curious. I was just realizing that I'm not sure if Trident guy is the same as Dorian. And, that's a good point about the scribe lady. She does look like a paper doll! LOL My first thought was a cigarette girl.  It sure would be interesting if she were some kind of beurocrat, like a female Seneschal Bran. Lots of "you expect me to fight/sleep outdoors/get dirty?" LOL

Isn't trident guy "Dorian"?

I'm also very curious about scribe girl. I think she will also be like Traynor  Which makes me sad because she won't be a full companion. Unless they make non-traveling companions and flesh their stories out as much as the traveling ones. I would not mind having a LI who does not travel with my PC, so long as the story is as deep and meaningful as the others.

She just doesn't strike me as someone who could fight. Which is silly since Merrill didn't exactly look like a battle hardened veteran, but she could certainly hold her own.  

I dunno, it's just that you can kinda tell who's companion material based on how the characters concept art looks. They all have a certain "something" about them that she didn't.

This would be so interesting! Did they do that in ME3...? I wonder what it would be like to, like, date the butcher back home. Then half of your issues are long distance relationship ones. Hmm... ok, maybe not so interesting...

They did with Traynor and Cortez. They also kinda did with Engineers Adams and Donnelly, but to a much lesser extent (you couldn't romance them).
