I have something that's probably already been seen before, but it's worth seeing again. And it might come to fruition for DA3! (I hope!)

I like ME's paragon/renegade voice acting/options. It always still sounded like Shepard and even the Paragon options had some sweet badassery in telling people off. It'd be nice to see that for DA instead of the 'good' protagonist always being a sainty-saint and borderline push over. We can still be nice but firm, but not not full out aggressive and/or rude.
Oh, I dunno, aggressive Hawke was a total jerk! He even tells Anders not to flatter himself because he's shagged better people in his time. He also punches a rock wraith right in the face!

Diplomatic Hawke can also sucker punch a rock wraith. I think you just need to be a warrior.
True, but it's funnier if you're just an angry Hawke all the time.

lol, I'm not sure how much of jerk renegade Shep was, but I know paragon Shep had some moments where I was pretty darn proud of the fierce attitude. I guess it didn't feel lacking or over the top goody-goody like playing 'good' Hawke did. I eventually switched my Hawke to sarcastic Hawke because the saintliness just seemed out of hand. And aggressive Hawke has a lot of jerk lines, someday, someday I'll be able to play a game aggressive to the bitter end.LolaLei wrote...

yeah, my brother told me about Petrice. He can play the games all ways without guilt or remorse! I live vicariously through his bad boy playthroughsLolaLei wrote...
You have to be 100% aggressive though, Anders and Carver will often apologise for Hawke's behaviour to npcs and stuff too. You can also side with Sister Petrice and keep her alive too.

I'm a little surprised at Anders outburst in the rivalmance about how he thought loving and getting into a relationship with Hawke would help him control Justice, makes it almost sound like he just latched onto the first person that showed interest in order to try and help himself. Sh!tty Anders.

Aveline is my straigh-man. I think my favourite is when you save Donnic during Aveline's first quest and you say something smart-assed and Aveline gives this no nonsense 'Not now, Hawke' like an annoyed parent!LolaLei wrote...
Sarcastic Hawke is my Hawke of choice, but sometimes he comes across as a bit of an insensitive douche, lol. He works well with Anders as an LI though because he's the straight-man to Hawke's silliness. Plus, I like to imagine that his lighthearted attitude helps keep Anders sane because it stops him from sinking too far into despair and reminds Anders of himself back in days before he joined with Justice and became a miserable sod.

I think the most sad scene is where she will actually leave right at the end if Hawke has been a complete dick all the way through with his/her choices. And you can see how much it hurts her, like she has been literally pushed to her utter limit, yet she refuses to kill him/her because she still feels a sense of loyalty to Hawke regardless.
I wouldn't mind seeing that sort of loyalty in Cullen, although I guess we did since he refused to turn on Hawke at the risk of his own life.

I've never done that. I can't bear not having full friendship with her. She is one of my most favourite characters. She's my Hawke's rock. *sniffs while wiping sentimental tear from eye*LolaLei wrote...
LOL, I love how Aveline will actually pull Hawke up on his silly attitude if you do a sarcastic play through.

I would KILL to have that loyalty from Cullen with a new protagonist. I always see Cullen as a sort of male (darker, haunted past) version of Aveline. Both have a very serious and strong sense of their jobs and duty.
But, on that note, it's time for me to bid adieu. Got to get some sleep before my kidlet wakes up at the crack of dawn.

Edit: I realize that he admits writing Quentin and helping him at the end of DA2, but still, it really makes me angry. He's a poor excuse for a First Enchanter and it makes me angry that I side with the mages when he does that. Maybe I should play through again and go pro-templar.

In the rivalmance you can see that half the stuff coming out of Anders mouth is Justice's doing, the way he talks is completely different, I reckon even in the friendmance version blowing up the Chantry is Justice's doing, it's just that he has no reason to tell Hawke off because you're essentially on the same side. Anders even mentions that perhaps he's wrong and stuff, but it sounds like Justice convinces/stops him from preventing the Chantry blowing up.
In the rivalmance, he tries to remove the bomb, but Justice wouldn't let him. It was more Justice's influence than his down that road. He's trying to break away from what Justice is trying to accomplish ("freeing" mages) but nuh-uh, he ain't having any of that. Forceful possession it must be!
Friendmance, however, is a totally different beast.
He does, however, expect Hawke to kill him for the deaths he caused when he set the bomb off. That's why he's so "I'll fight the templars... Damn right I will!" if you spare him. He's completely surprised he's still alive.
I mean, if my boyfriend just blew up a chantry, killed some people and triggered a massacre which may or may not kill myself and my friends plus many innocent people, I don't think I'd be wanting him to kiss me either and I think he wants to keep boundaries until futher notice.

This will probably sound corny but if Anders really loved Hawke he'd have grabbed that last kiss whether s/he wanted it or not. I always felt like Anders' romance was a sham in retrospect. Like he used Hawke from the get go for nookie, somewhere to crash and hide, someone to do his dirty work. A means to an end.Batteries wrote...

I think it is highly unlikely. I've actually recently browsed a thread (can't find it now, sorry:[) where someone asked DG about having non-follower LI and, in his opinion, it would be hard to make it work. Even if the amount of romantic content is comparable, there is always a lingering feeling that there is less content than with regular romances (I think he referenced Sam's and Steve's romances but I am not sure). In his opinion spending time together, even non-romantically, travelling and fighting along side of your LI creates the space where romance naturally develops and provides more content overall, giving you the feel you've got more interaction with the character (even though it is not neccessarily romantic one). To balance this out, romance with non follower would have to be richer, hence more resource consuming. This is how I remember his answer.motomotogirl wrote...
I'm also very curious about scribe girl. I think she will also be like TraynorWhich makes me sad because she won't be a full companion. Unless they make non-traveling companions and flesh their stories out as much as the traveling ones. I would not mind having a LI who does not travel with my PC, so long as the story is as deep and meaningful as the others.
I can understand where he's coming from, because I love to drag my character's LIs with her/him all the time just to have the ability to look at them and feel that they are hanging out with each other (with some backstage chats and cuddles...). From the roleplaying perspective, it might be interesting to be involved with someone out of the party, living their every day lives (it kind of worked in Skyrim, but that game had overall lacking relashionships with characters, so I wasn't missing on anything). On the other hand, I wonder how plausible it would be, having a character that travels a lot over the course of time and has a major death wish. Who would want to be romantically involved with such person?
