Sorry, I'm creating a total mess with my posts but I'm still catching up...

Mmmmmmm I'm all for tall, dark and suave...after I rom the hell out of Cullen every which way but and loose! I'm actually really out of the loop, I haven't got my copy of the WOT yet, I haven't read any of the comics or the books. I have no idea who half these characters are that people talk about. 'Cept for what I pick up on here.
I feel you... I'm a bit lost here myself. I've only read "The stolen throne" and even though it adds to the story I was never particularly engrossed by the plot so I skipped the following books. Now I've picked up "The calling" and absolutely love it, it adds so much to Grey Wardens lore. I haven't read Asunder and the comics (I'm still uncertain about the latter) and I haven't watch the movie. I've got the the WOT but so far I was more " woah, nice pictures... I like" and never got to read much. For some reason I decided to fill my gaps before E3, at the same time replaying both games. DA overload much?

I find that I, myself am quite adaptable to what BioWare brings to the table in terms of their character progressions and changes. Do I hate Anders for blowing up the chantry? No. I either run away with him as a glorious mage Bonnie & Clyde or heartsick, I follow after him to keep saving him from himself. Was I heartbroken that adorable Cullen was tortured to the point of hating all mages enough to want the Right of Annullment in Origins? Yes, but that didn't make me hate the character or feel disappointed in him. It made my heart ache with pity and sorrow for him. And when he returned in DA2 and we watched him change over the course of the game back to a fair and honest man? Of course I loved it! Am I worried about what will happen to him in DAI? No. Because given time and many playthroughs I can come
to understand the motivations of a character and why they behaved/acted/said what they did. To me, It's all about shifting perspectives, and that is what I love most about BioWare games. Even the villians have reason for why they do what they do. And I love both the heros and the villians.
Ahh, I love you for saying this because it beautifully sums up my feelings about BW games. I feel like such a fangirl

It is amazing how much I care about their characters, regardless of whether I applaud their actions or despise them. Usually different playthroughs reveal more and more, and I manage to gain different perspective on the situation. Sometimes I need to be in a right frame of mind to appreciate the character or, as I found out with Morrigan or Jack, I need a particular playthrough with a specific PC, where exploring her/his motivations and experiences "helps" me to understand the others. I don't think that there is a villain in their games that I truly hate and the hero that I see as completely pure and perfect. And I love it. The fact that they tackle mature subjects in their games and then they use different means to challenge us on our opinions, and that everything is not as straightforward as it seems, oh the joy.
