Neonmoth: I thought the movie was fun, but it doesn't add much to the canon because it happened so far in the past (9:22). More than that, it's a little confusing due to some probs with their own canon as they developed it. BUT it fills in Cass's background which is cool.

also second the Asunder rec. I think it was the best book of the 3, with Calling second, IMO. It's also more intrinsically linked with main story than the other books.

Yeah, that's my general impression from what I've picked up in this thread :] As for the movie, I might watch it then, since I like Cass and there is a major chance for her being a follower/important npc, so it always adds something extra to consider when thinking about her character. Thanks R2!

Yeah, it'll be useful for perspective if she does turn out to be a companion.

Quickly going back to Tallis a minute, I just found a really good article about the whole Mary Sue thing with MotA:
http://ladygeekgirl....m/tag/mary-sue/
I think the writer sums up exactly why people didn't warm to Tallis in the same way that they warmed to Kasumi in ME2 who's quest was very similar to MotA's.

I liked the read, thanks Lola. Funnily enough I don't have this dlc, cause I was meh about the plot, but now I'm quite tempted to meet the infamous Tallis. You can call me oblivious since I had no idea that she was based on some celeb. Ha, that explains her weird looks (I mean her chin, oh shallow me)... Yep, I laughed when I've read about DG's reaction to your comment, but overall  Even if she was attractive, why would anyone feel threatened? Nvm. I guess it was just a defensive reaction on his part, since it doesn't make sense.

And to stop digging "old" stuff, I'm concluding with angelic Cullen:

hmm I hope it doesn't foreshadow his early departure :o

Overall it's not a bad dlc, it's very light hearted for most part and all the compaions you take along seem in good spirits, there's also some hilarious scenes with a sarcastic male Hawke.

Lol, honestly I think he was just defensive because she's his friend. It's just pissed me off at the time because I and the others in that thread were being respectful to Felicia Day herself, we just didn't like her character. That has no basis for our thoughts of the woman herself.

I didn't know that she's his friend. Then it is very probable that he felt personally involved in whole Tallis lack of popularity.

You're advertising sarcastic male Hawke that it makes me want to play as one. I am ashamed to admit I only played femHawkes. It doesn't help that you can romance all available LIs with one gender. I suspect that if I create a good looking male character I might be quite possessive :] I love the male Hawke from Destiny trailer

Noted!

And for entirely innocent reasons, i.e. cause it makes me laugh so much, I'm bringing this again. I promise it's the last time.

...not because I want to "encourage" you to make LotR version

Yeah, I only made one male character, using the sarcastic options, and I had a right crush on him! LOL Boy, Destiny trailer Hawke was just yummy. Too bad he aged, like 15 years between trailer and game. LOL

Yeah, I ended up with a bit of a crush on my Hawke too.

I rented it at my local Family Video. Don't know if you have one near you but it worked out great for me! There was a LOT of interesting info in the special features, if nothing else. :)

^^Healthy reaction :] Thankfully they look nothing like my dad...

Edit: Now I wish there was a Morriganesque male mage follower in DAI. I don't know Dorian yet, but the way you portrayed him few pages back.... I approve

Adorable grumpy goth boy mage companion? Yes please :D

Holy crapples... perhaps you could summarize it for me?  That article was so poorly written I couldn't get through it. Like reading freshmen papers or something. Maybe she is just not a native English speaker.

I hadn't noticed, but my grammar is ****** poor at the best of times.

Basically at the end she says that Tallis was essentially straight out of FD's fan-fic and that where the usual quirky "adorable" girly characters she plays work via other mediums, she's got herself type-cast and it just didn't work in a setting like Dragon Age. She also said that although she wouldn't consider Tallis to be a Mary Sue, she does come dangerously close to it.

No local videos unfortunately but since the price of the new one stands at £4 I guess it's probably worth it. Didn't think about specials. Extra bonus always appreciated :]

DG: ""What's she dying of?" "Death." "Err... she's dying of death?" "Everybody dies of death." #truth #WritersPit"

Wouldn't it be fun if we got a dying companion in DA3... mind you, that's a little too similar to the Thane thing in Mass Effect.

The things you say Lola, really make me want to give you a hug, or maybe some cookies

It'd be something, heartbreaking most likely if the Thane thing is something to go by. I'm taking solace that it's a "she" they are talking about, and not possibly Cullen deteriorating from lyrium sickness or something :crying:

His gender has been retconned, she is now Knight-Captain Coleen.

Maybe it's part of the backgrounds? Protagonist mum is dying of something, or one of the potential LI's or non-romanceable companions has a dying wife or whatever.

Yeeeees sadness and depression, my preeeeciooooous! The blackness, the darkness... the horror! :lol::lol:
