Is this where he's talking about the "young ladies" of the brothel?

No. He's complaining that the recruits are no better than a weaving circle with their rumors about the vows ceremony.

LOL! I think he'd probably have some quite amusing analogies and oneliners if he was a companion, but I think it would be completely unintentional on his part.

I bet you're right. I also imagine him being the target of a few jokes like Sebastian was.

Did you catch the new question I asked on the previous page? What are your thoughts/ideas?

Ok, here's a new question for you all:

All we know about Cullen is what we've seen of him so far. We know he can be shy around a woman he likes, he becomes a little tongue tied about sexual subjects (like brothels) and we know he is sensible and appears to be a "thinker" but aside from that we know very little else.

Regarding his personality and like 'n' dislikes, what sorts of things would you like to find out/see/learn about him, what would you like DG & co to surprise you with surrounding Cullen and his backstory/personality?

I want to see his room. :P I wrote a little scene in my fic where Hawke wakes up alone in his room but doesn't give  herself time to poke around. I was always sad I didn't get a chance to imagine it further since I just think that would tell you so much about him. How tidy are his drawers? Does he use his desk or pile stuff on it? Does he even own casual wear? Are there any plants? Are they alive? Does he have a bookshelf in his room? If so, what's on it? Anything on his bedside table? THAT's what I want to see.

Then there are all those getting to know you, awkward date questions. Any tattoos? Can I see them? :innocent:Brothers and sisters? Interested in having kids? How does he take his coffee? Prefer red or white? Cat or dog person?

Oh dear... now it seems I'm on a roll...

Oooo! Wouldn't it be cool to snoop around our companions belongings! Especially if our home base is an Inn or something! Potentially you could even get quests through it. For example, you've been snooping around Cullen's underwear draw and underneath all his pants and socks you find an ominous scroll/letter from Lambert blackmailing him OR if you wanted to be dramatic you could find out that he's a double agent and is supposed to screw you over, by this point perhaps you're in a relationship with him, to which he catches you going through his stuff and you have it out with him.

Ooooo!!! (I've just had another scene idea!) Picture this:

You've become friendly with Cullen enough that he trusts you (perhaps you're even romantically pursuing him at this point) and you and he are sitting by the fire (or whatever) and some how the conversation leads to how he became a Templar and his life before the Chantry. After the usual Templar Order talk you manage to get him to open up and he tells you that he doesn't remember much about his past prior to the chantry as he was very young when his family died/abandoned him. He then goes on to tell you that the only thing he really remembers about his childhood was hiding under a dusty bed away from the other Chantry boys in his sleeping quarters to silently play pretend with his little rusty tin knight by candle light (that Cullen had witnessed some rich noble child discard after throwing a tantrum, whilst he's out doing duties for the Chantry sisters.) He'd then tell you that they weren't allowed toys within the Chantry as they were expected to grow up quickly, so he would hide it away under a loose floor board so the other boys wouldn't steal it/break it, and that he wasn't sure what posessed him to keep the toy as he knew he'd be in trouble if he was caught, but he felt sorry for it being thrown away and abandoned all alone just like he had been and that ever since that day he knew he wanted to be a knight (in reference to when he mentioned that he just wanted to be a knight during the Broken Circle quest if you weren't a female mage.) Finally our protagonist asks him what happened to his little tin knight and he tells her that it either got taken away by the sisters/stolen/broken/whatever. (Perhaps all this would be shown in a cutscene for added heartbreak!)

Later on you find a little tin knight in a shop or something, which you can give to him as a gift (leading to approval/sexy time.)

... If anyone wants to turn that into a story, feel free. Can't promise I won't cry when I read it though!

Hey all... don't know how long I'll be able to chime in tonight. (Still sick. 2nd round of anti-biotics. Go team!)

Anyway, Lola asked what we'd like to find out about Cullen. I think it'd be interesting to find out he's got some secret pet he takes care of. Not a Sir-Pounce-a-lot but maybe like a bird or something. It doesn't stay with him as a pet would but visits of it's own accord. Or maybe find out he's quietly mentoring some orphan on the sly.

Ooooor, we find out he's got some deviant vise. Like he drinks or smokes when no one's looking or he's a kinky bastage in the sack or he's a pro knitter who's won competitions under a false identity. lol

Hehe!   Funny that we don't even know answers to most of above for the existing companions.

What I'd like to know:  Is it true that Cullen has a nice singing voice? Did he sing in the Chantry choir? Does he sing in the bath? (Can I join him in the bath while he sings?)  ^_^

General character development questions:  What was his childhood like? How did he feel about becoming a templar when that option was presented to him?  How does he feel about it now (after Kirkwall's chantry-boom)? If there is one prior event in his life that he would like to change, what is it? How does he interpret the teachings of Andraste (this would be a long series of responses, sort of like Sebastian's banter with Fenris and others)? What, in his opinion, is the biggest problem in the templar order? What, in his opinion, is the biggest problem with the circles of magi? What is his happiest memory?

Specific "explain this to me please" questions aimed directly at Cullen:
- Why did you let Hawke (especially mage!Hawke) remain a free person?

- Ser Alrik was grossly abusing his authority and there is strong evidence that he was a violent preditor. As knight-captain, you should have known about this. Did you? If you did, why didn't you do anything about him?

- Were you aware of Ser Thrask's mage-templar revolutionary experiment? If yes, what were your opinions of it then? Either way, what are your opinions now?

- For someone who showed many symptoms of severe PTSD during your first year as Knight-Captain in Kirkwall, you seem to have managed okay over the years. Was it merely a matter of time (taking time to heal) or was there something else that helped you manage your anxieties?

- Ferelden's Circle appears to have been run well whereas Kirkwall's Circle appeared to be a mess. Comment?

I don't recall any smokers in the DA world either. I'd laugh to tears to see him light up Andraste's Hookah of Infinite Wisdom in the tub though.Posted Image

Bahaha! I just realised when I mentioned in that post about Cullen playing pretend with his "little rusty tin knight" it totally sounded like a euphemism for him having a ******!

Gah. I missed this. Is this only for the male mage because I don't remember getting this line for my Dalish Warden?

I'm trying to collect *every* line Cullen has ever said and this is one I need to hunt down!

I'm not sure, I've never played a mage Mage all the way through, but I've seen him say it on YouTube. Lemme see if I can find it again.

What did you think of my little scene idea?

Indeed, we never really got a chance to know any of them really well, when you think about it. Except maybe Alistair. But then... I don't think I'd want to snoop around Fenris's mansion... ewwwwww....

I don't recall this either, but still haven't done the male mage playthrough .. or a whole Amell or Surana playthrough, for that matter. He does say something like that during a convo from Karma's companions, but of course, it's not voiced or canon or anything.

Oooo here we go, I found his Knight comment with the mage Warden too. I don't know if it was a removed response that was put back in, or added from the other Wardens responses to this one... Anyway, here it is:

*Edit* It sounds as though he wasn't a full Templar knight at that point, maybe the Harrowing he had to do with our Mage Warden was his initation into becoming one?
