Another guilty pleasure of mine is to stand in their way. I remember this turian dude in ME3 who was pushing my Shep for quite a distance. Most of them stop though, weirdos.
On a serious note I would like if at least several main npcs had some sort of simple daily routine. So you can find them in different places.

I'm hoping they have a more 'natural' feeling day / night cycle, rather than what they had for DA2. (I hate to say 'like Skyrim's' again but there it is.) NPCs having a daily routine would be great! Knowing that Joe Bob's store is open from 8-5 and then he'll be at the pub before heading home at night. Maybe you can catch him walking to and from these places.

This would be great. Though I know it can get tedious at times if you can't find the npc you need. Anyway, it is difficult to avoid the comparison with other games, I can't resist the urge. This whole npc ai and stalking reminds me one episode of Elder Strolls, where the protagonist is 'following' a potential LI to find out whether he's got a house.

Hell, if Fable can have a bloody day/night cycle then you can bet your arse that DA3 can!

You know they'd absolutely have to do that thing where towards the end of the dance the two of them are like a hairs breathe from each other and linger just that moment too long before they're interupted by the music stopping or some drunkard barging in the way. (R2, you need to write this!)

She's done something similar here - Knight's Bloom, Ch. 11 : http://www.fanfictio.../Knight-s-Bloom

With Cullen and Hawke dancing out on the balcony, right? She could write another with the new protagonist, but as a one off short drabble about the dancing scene only.

LOL I was just thinking, "hmm, I already wrote that!" Probably too similar for me to actually do something new and improved instead of clone myself (altho, admittedly, the original was far from perfect).  I just started a new scene in a new fic that takes place at a masked ball. I haven't decided if Hawke and Cullen will dance at it yet, or not. *sigh* who am I kidding? I suppose it's a moral imperative!

Meanie, your commission check's in the mail, my dear!  ;)

All this talk of day and night cycles reminds of The Witcher 2 when I stumbled across the Visionary's hut during sunrise (or was it sunset) anyway, the hut is next to this massive lake and surrounded by hundreds of candles, I think it was probably the prettiest environment I've seen in a game so far.

Oooo, come Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday next week (delete as appropriate) we might finally know the name of the new protagonist! I'm really looking forward to referring to him/her as something other than protagonist/PC/main character etc.

Here's to hope that DG and co are secret lovers of R2 fanfics and subconsciously got programmed with her ideas :wizard:

bless you for this! LOL Honestly, the thought of one of the real writers reading my stuff gives me hot and cold flashes, mostly of panic!

I wonder if they do look at the fans fanfic/art and theories/ideas for ideas, even if it's just to see if our stuff matches up with theirs?

I mean, they must take some fans ideas into consideration at least, because that's how we ended up getting Garrus and Tali as romanceable companions in Mass Effect.

I also wonder about it. I know that DG says he never reads fanfics but you never know. It could be his secret pleasure :]

Well DG says he definitely doesn't read fanfic, though he gives it his blessing.

I could see some of the more curious DA writers checking out fanfic, if only for a laugh.

It could be due to repeated demands on forum boards *shrug* It's hard to miss whether character is popular or not ;)

I certainly wonder if the devs ever lurk in here and/or the other threads to see if any of our theories (either regarding Cullen or DA3) are correct, or to laugh at how far off the mark we are... or to laugh because they know we're gonna be crying into our ice cream when we don't get Cullen as a companion/he dies/*insert horrible thing here*.

Well, there was that Qunari Isabela cosplay design that became "canon" in the comic. So I could imagine it a lot more with fan art. I honestly can't imagine DG ever, ever reading fanfic. Like, I see the concept being painful, like taking yucky medicine or avoiding a shot. Dunno what happened with Garrus, et al, but with DA I could see a discussion of a character planting an idea. But not real fiction. I just can't see them bothering.

LOL, I think it all depends on how loud you shout. They didn't even realise Cullen had much of a following to begin with, even after DA2.. It's only really last year that they really started to notice us. Can't speak for the other characters though.

The cosplayer who done the Qunari Isabela is pretty friendly with the devs, she and her friends have hung out with them a fair few times at conventions and stuff, so it stands to reason that DG would use her costume for the comics after the haters started giving her grief.

i think from our early interactions with the devs, it was clear they never really came here. Later... Not so clear. :D

Either way, it seems reasonable to assume that DA fans as a collective are more likely to get their wishes fulfilled by being polite and respectful, rather than ranting and raving like a loon.

True, DG certainly didn't. Tonia did though, she said herself she'd been lurking for quite some time.

I can't really blame them, since topics in character forums (or everywhere for that matter) can often can get out of hand :D

nevertheless, I still imagine the visualization of a character being different than someone writing that character... At least to the original writer. I can totally understand DG's uncertain relationship with DA fanfic.
