Well, there was that Qunari Isabela cosplay design that became "canon" in the comic. So I could imagine it a lot more with fan art. I honestly can't imagine DG ever, ever reading fanfic. Like, I see the concept being painful, like taking yucky medicine or avoiding a shot. Dunno what happened with Garrus, et al, but with DA I could see a discussion of a character planting an idea. But not real fiction. I just can't see them bothering.

The cosplayer who done the Qunari Isabela is pretty friendly with the devs, she and her friends have hung out with them a fair few times at conventions and stuff, so it stands to reason that DG would use her costume for the comics after the haters started giving her grief.

nevertheless, I still imagine the visualization of a character being different than someone writing that character... At least to the original writer. I can totally understand DG's uncertain relationship with DA fanfic.

Yeah, to be honest I got a right monk on the other day when I discovered one of my real life friends had started doing videos scarily similar to mine, when before he was doing Lets Plays and other stuff. So I can see why DG gets a bit funny about it, lol.

Still, I guess that shows that he's not adverse to giving the fans what they want. I just hope that counts for us too.

True, DG certainly didn't. Tonia did though, she said herself she'd been lurking for quite some time.

man, how much would you just sh!t if any of our ideas were to show up in game??

I would literally fill my pants, no doubt!

Either way, it seems reasonable to assume that DA fans as a collective are more likely to get their wishes fulfilled by being polite and respectful, rather than ranting and raving like a loon.

I guess so, but somehow I can't see them making Cullen a follower/LI because of his fans. Maybe a minor npc but that's all. I'd think that if he's in the DA:I with some major role, it would be due to earlier arrangements.

I can't really blame them, since topics in character forums (or everywhere for that matter) can often can get out of hand :D

well, yes and no. Ours was the only character thread that had no dev participation during the initial, oh probably, year following DA2's release. All the others had the writers chatting about the character. It wasn't til Tonia delurked -- over 400 pages in! -- that we got the little blue Bioware tag.

Absolutely, I don't think us Cullen fans could sway them to make him a companion/LI off our own steam. I do, however, think that by not ranting and raving we've increased the chances of him being in it. I mean, if we went in there all guns blazing calling the devs every name under the sun, then I'd fully expect him to not show up in the game at all... or at least for something horrible to be done to him LOL!

oh agree, which is what we've been saying all along. Heh... And at least DG said that if they WERE going to pander to fans, we'd be great fans to pander to. LMVAO

I love when writers join discussions/clarify things and so on. It is such a shame that there is so much crappy attitude displayed by many posters that really makes sick, and it's not me being attacked :/ I really hope they will make appearance a bit more often before DA:I release.

People take things too far. They'll even stalk the devs/writers around the forum when they're posting. Like when DG posted in here one or two followed him in and tried to cause a bit of trouble.

Okay randomly decided tonight that I will start three simultaneous playthroughs:

Aggressive warrior FemHawke, romancing Isabela, pro-Templar
Sarcastic rogue MaleHawke, romancing Fenris, don't give a shaaaat
Diplo mage FemHawke, romancing Merrill (first time for everything), pro-mage

And I will record in a Word file each decision Hawke makes so that I know which import to use on various DA3 playthroughs :D So I will write down if Merrill's clan are killed or what happens to Keran or Feynriel or Alain, etc.

Never know what tiny action could have a (however small) consequence.

I'M EXCITED!!! Get to play DA2 again :D

Apparently an aggressive pro-mage Hawke romancing Anders is even more hardcore and mental than Anders himself.

The things we do to have 'perfect' import saves  I haven't even started to think about this feature.

Times flown by, hasn't it! It's amazing to think how far our thread has come. From the smallest thread within this section of the forums, to one of the biggest. Cullen's gone from a relatively unknown character to one that can't be ignored now.

*Evil laugh*

Omg, DA:O and DA2 canon imports on the Xbox 360 are completionist playthroughs. The only quest I couldn't do (due to glitches) was the one where we rescue that girl from bandits, only to find that Feynriel has killed them with his mind for her.

I spent hours and hours doing those.

I'm anal when it comes to games, so my every playthrough is a completionist playthrough
