Agree. I see it sorta... sneaking up on him. I like the notion of him feeling unworthy of love. So somehow the PC has to break through that idea. Some crisis makes him realize that he can't live without the PC, blah blah.neonmoth wrote...
^^ I must admit that however I like the thought, I can't see Cullen be the first one to strike. Furthermore, I can imagine him going for a "pure" relationship if the pc does not make a push for a more physical aspect... This might be laborious, gosh I hope he won't be too resentful so my pc become a desperate pursuer :]

Ah, Scr0ll... the fact that you, of all people, say this now totally bums me out. This was the sense I was getting from the reading the twitter thread last night.Scr0ll wrote...
About E3, I'm getting a really bad feeling about a lot of things. I now don't believe we will get anything but a s cinematic trailer and some combat talk. I don't think they will get into the PC role, story and companions yet. There are other things I "figured out" that I can't talk about. All in all but I'm loosing hope in us getting a spectacular E3 reveal.

I'm not sure what ONS is, but I don't see them setting us up for failure. I think either he'll have a way of 'completing' the romance despite these obstacles, or you won't get to go there at all. Like, you'll get an initial heart option, like with Aveline, but it'll be clear he's off limits romantically.Scr0ll wrote...
Or Cullen could be into ONS and then say he can't commit because he has duty, honour and is committed to being a Templar. Or he won't touch the PC because they are a Mage... Or blood Mage. So love is never going to sway him...

ONS = One Night Stand. I also think they'd give us something to create a happy-ish ending. David Gaider does not equal that, so lets hope they keep him far, far away.
As you, my negativity is based on the fact that some of the people that should be going aren't. I don't care that they say E3 isn't a community/fan convention. Actually since it IS industry only and the place will crawl with journalists means its a perfect time for a good extensive reveal.
Anyhoo, we have been promised something, even if small, at E3. Then they mentioned something's being revealed after. So there's that.
I am taking a wild guess, but I hope they are giving us a web page like they did for Origins and DA2. With a FAQ, concept art and some tidbits of information. The one for DAO was great. (I also hope they update the BSN soon. But that's another matter.)

E3. Ah well. At least they did promise more info after it, too. Maybe the faucet will now open, even if it's just a trickle at first.
I'm also curious about the new BSN. From evil!Chris's comments during the last SprintReview, and his now diminished presence on the existing forums, I'm hoping that means the new platform is just around the corner. I always sorta figured it would come out in tandem with their big DA3 marketing ramp up.

Don't worry about it, Cam will be there he's got enough charm to pull off the reveal by himself and still have the crowds cheering.

Plus, they keep gushing about how "wonderful" the stuff they've put together for E3 is, so it's gotta be better than just a quick flash or CGI trailer. They had a whole team working on it, so it's definitely something they've put together themselves.

Me too! But I like when the LI's take initiative, or at least show some interest first. When they don't I kind of get the feeling that they aren't all that interested in you and have a 'Meh. I'm good either way' sort of attitude. It's half the reason I can never seem to romance Jacob in Mass Effect. He just didn't seem to care.Newschmoo wrote...
People are strange. I have to admit that when Anders/Isabela openly flirted with my Hawkes, they felt quite flattered!
i felt this way with my Merrill romance at first too. She wasn't all, 'meh.' But she was pretty oblivious for awhile and I found that through most of the game I kept forgetting we were even together!

One Night Stand! Aha! Gotcha! LOL yeah, I could see Cullen having a, um, lapse in judgment like that that he then flogs himself over for a while. So long as they give you a way to overcome it!Ahem, and it doesn't take THREE years.
Lol, I didn't know ONS either! I rather like the idea of his passions getting away from him and jumping the gun, but yes, a way to get past it into a proper relationship is key.
And yes, the 3 years did seem a bit much, but on the plus, at least Fen admitted to longing for the protagonist that entire 3 years. Still, it was a jarring bit of time frame.

Yeah, it was a little annoying not knowing if you were in a relationship or not. It would be nice if you could tell from their banter/actions as opposed to requiring, literally, a "red flag." LOLLolaLei wrote...
When I first played DA2 I accidentally let Anders kill that mage girl we tried to save, after that he was like super emo and for a while there I thought he'd actually dumped my female Hawke because he was all like "I'll only break your heart, I dunno if I can do this blah blah", then when I clicked on him again he was like "I think we're better off focusing on the task at hand" etc. It was until right at the end after he blew up the Chantry that I realised they hadn't broken up at all LOL!

True. It also gives the player a lot of room to imagine what happened during those three years. I was/am reading this really nice fic showing the game from Fenris's perspective. I don't think it's finished yet (still!), but it's done a really nice way of motivating his relationship with Hawke and what her life was probably like during those three year gaps.Twice a Lady wrote...

lol that's the exact opposite of my first Anders romance! I honestly didn't think any of my flirting was working at all, because he always closed himself off and shut down the flirting. When he pounced my Hawke in the clinic, I was like 'Where the eff did this come from?' B/c I seriously didn't think I was getting anywhere with him. With Origins, I thought the romances were much easier to navigate, you built up the flirty repertoire and knew where you stood. DA2 had muddier waters in that respect.R2s Muse wrote...

It'd be murder on me to have Cullen as an LI and be questioning whether we were flirting along nicely, or not. Or in your case broken up or not. The banter is very important to establishing relationships.

I definitely felt it flowed better in DA:O in regards to the flirting because you had to get to know them enough first before you could start trying to flirt with them, whereas in DA2 Hawke was like "heeeey guuuuurl" the minute you met them.
I will say that the pacing was mental in DA:O though, I managed to fully romance Alistair before even leaving Lothering once LOL!

Nothing will beat Hawke's horrid, uncomfortably awkward 'sooooo that explains your whole sexy tortured look.' comment to Anders pretty much upon meeting him. *shudders* I was so embarrassed for Hawke and everyone who had to hear that line. Such a bizarre, out of place thing to say after hearing his tragic past/plight.neonmoth wrote...
