Sounds like the devs are getting pre-E3 nerves. I guess they must be a little worried at the reception the game will get.

I think that's a good thing. I'm sure they are very confident of their product, but it's gonna be the first time it's out there.
The reception of DA2 was good, wasn't it? It had great reviews.

Real world Fenris?!:huh: Not seeing that... But it's all good. I do like a manly man. Can't stand overly soft gents. But I guess to me, Tom and Benedict don't seem that girly. They do have a presence to them, a gravitas that I like. I'm not a dude's dude kind of girl but I like men with a bacbone. My husband is sometimes a jerk - not to me - but he's not one to back down from what he believes. I like that. I guess that's why Cullen was able to pull an eleventh hour "Oh hello!" from me. :D A good example of what I mean, I guess would be Eric Draven from The Crow. He had a great mix of manly attributes along with the long-haired rocker vibe. Shame Brandon Lee is gone... :( I don't adhere to a specific type really but I have noticed a trend.

And those poor boys! Got them gussied up and being catcalled!:lol::lol:

I would do bad things to Eric Draven! Brandon Lee was a ****ing babe! <3

^^I like DA2 and I like the fact that they were not afraid to play with different things. Sometimes you hit a jackpot, sometimes you don't. There are obvious annoyances but it did not make me hate the game. If anything I like it almost as much as DA:O for completely different things. I actually like the change of pace of DA2 after playing Origins.

I have to say that I found myself preferring DA2's art style in regards to characters. And I love its combat mechanics over DAO. Even though the waves of dropping enemies are annoying, the fluidity of the fighting was nice. I do like Hawke's story but DAO's just felt more epic. And I loved that you could tweak their tactics to great effect! Sometimes really made a difference in battle, unlike DA2's awesome button. That said... I'm having a b!tch of a time plodding through DAO again but I've replayed DA2 to death! :D So I love them both in different ways... but, for me, DA2 is more...

fun. *ducks tomatoes* DAO is more escapism du jour. :D

Yeah, after DA2's reception I'm sure they are really nervous. I actually LIKED DA2 even though it does have its problems. I'm keeping my expectations low, but at the same time I have faith DAI will be awesome.

I guess with that and the ME3 endings they're expecting people to kick off even if the reveal looks awesome.

Basically! For a while I was concerned about DAI after those endings we dare not speak of. But then I realized it's a different team working on it, so I chilled out.

The most recent annoyance I have forgotten about is I can't sleep with Isabela and then Fenris. <_< I have to start the game over again because I didn't have a save far back enough.

But the change of pace is very welcome after playing DAO for several weeks. DAO is lovely, but like the first ME it can be exhausting to play. XD

A manly man is nice to have. When Cullen pulled out his sword (finally got to see it up close :innocent:) to defend Hawke I swear...:wub::wub: But his awkward side still makes me want to smother him in kisses.

You aren't the only one. I'm not ashamed to say it was DA2 that turned me into a rabid fan. I also love the first one, but DA2 is where it blossomed for me. Different strokes and all.

The general consensus on DA2, however, seems to be that it was a mixed bag. I'm glad the devs have been able to see both the good and not so good from both games, tho, and look to mine the best of both. DA3's going to be awesome as a result!!

I prefer the DA2's artstyle too. I know Alistair and Zev came out looking a bit derpy but in general I thought it looked better.

I get where you're coming from. I love Origins a bit more for the sole reason of being able to play through different origins. I loved that aspect of the game. But overall I like that DA2 feels different in so many aspects, I like the less epic and more personal story, I like the pace of combat, though I admit having enemies spawning on pc's head is no fun.

I jump on the Benedict Cumberbatch bandwagon :] I liked his sinister character in Star Trek so much. For me he's got too unusual features to be considered girly, but I guess it is a matter of opinion. Chris Pine is more girly/pretty of the two, with his little nose, lush lips and blue eyes. I must admit I like guys with unusual face features, which might or might not be reflected by my real life choices

*now I'm wondering whether there is a celebrity husband material for me*

Mmmmm... so hard not to talk Star Trek, but won't spoil it for anyone (since I very much appreciated not being spoiled myself).  All I'll say is, mmmhmmm, yes, all this... once the action really got going and I really *saw* B.C.'s character... I wanted to stand up and yell, "daaaayaaam, y'all!" LOL

I saw Incubus in concert after their Make Yourself album; you would be so jealous; Brandon has his shirt off and was holding the bongo drum between his legs and beating it like a mad man B)

No fun at all. The tactics screen was greatly improved, at least for me. There was something added to the tactics that wasn't in DAO that made a huge difference in battles; I wish I could remember what it is - I change it every time I get Fenris...maybe it's a cross-class thing.

Anyway. I do find DA2 more fun when it comes to story...and being able to ****** my friends off. It brings me joy when I see the rivalry points.

That's why I like the thought of Cullen being older and more mature in DA3. Way more attractive than the stuttering little boy from Origins (even if his face were as pretty as it is in DA2). And for me that's why a man like Duncan is far and away hotter than most other characters in the whole series. I also am kind of developing a crush on Donnic, yeah, I KNOW, but he's just so sweet and cowed by Aveline, and yet very manly at the same time... my kind of guy :P

My b!tch!Hawke is gonna be rivaling everyone xD It's gonna be awesome  I start her playthrough tonight. I'm going to be cruel and not even let Aveline become guard-captain. I think this might be the first Hawke who kills dear Anders.

I think the thing that made DA:O superior for me was the option to play as different races, the playable origin stories and the amount of interaction with the companions that we were given.

I think it was cross-class combos that they did better in DA2. In DAO, you assigned the tactics you wanted in the sequence you wanted them and if Morrigan had frozen an enemy, you'd have to hope that Sten hadn't already used a Shattering Blow and that he was close enough to the frozen guy to go pulverize him. You could take direct control of Sten, if need be but if he was waaaaaay off field, you wouldn't get to the bad-guycicle in time. Same for thalent cool down. If it had been used by the time it was available again, ice cube would have thawed out. In DA2 you could assign specific tactics to certain other abilites being deployed so that the characters all worked together more seamlessly. One of my faves was having Aveline activate her Threaten and and then that earth shaking thing she does which drew threat to her. Then she'd switch to Immovable so that she could withstand the blows that came in. Once all the bad guys were focused on her, Fenris was set to do his lyrium ghost charge thing that cut large swaths through the pack - Bad Dudes flying everywhere! :o:D So I do think that was better.

I also do like the feeling you get from DA2 of them hanging out and having lives but having fun together too. I wish we had seen more of that. DAO was more epic and Love-Conquers-All (especially if romanced Alistair ran off to do warden-y things with him) and more moving and beautiful and all that. I guess DA2 was more like modern day and realistic.

That actually makes me wonder if they're gonna run with Alistair's original battle-hardened warrior thing for Cullen instead.
