It's so difficult trying to gauge what our expectation levels should be when some of the devs are really excited and others are... less so.

Well, expectations had gotten pretty high. Their 'show not tell, don't worry' message sorta dug them in a hole. Folks may be disappointed no matter what they show at this point.

And, just to manage expectations a bit, I am not sure where "4 videos" came from, but if that is the 4 videos mentioned by the LA video crew, they are not all Dragon Age related. They work on many EA games. Temper expectation accordingly.

Wow, this is disheartening. Not the less than 4 videos thing, but as you guys are saying, "temper expectation." That's like encountering a fanfic with a note from the author at the top, "This is my first fanfic; please be gentle..."

I mean, yeah, I'm sure it's going to be really cool. But it is hard to have any kind of expectation if we don't know even have a notion of what kind of a thing it is.

I'd say a 'making of' video would be the way to go, chuck in a few bits of in-game footage, tell us the basic plot and the name of the protagonist and we're all good.

Yeah, I also think that it's a disconnect with some of the messaging. We've seen lots of tweets like that, suggesting how hard they've worked on "it" and how totally fraking awesome "it" is. So, I believe them... whatever "it" is, I bet we'll love it. But will it be a trailer...? Will it show us story or "just" environment? Will we see characters? Lots of  ???s

My bet is that it'll either be a CGI trailer, which will ****** the BSN off because they've been moaning about it anyway, or something in the video is going to irritate some people... like Cullen plastered across the screen LOL!

Precisely. it's fun to speculate but, realistically, we probably aren't going to get much. There will probably some scenery shots, some combat shots and an ominous monologue, Flemeth's for DA2, that'll be vague and only hint at what's going on. "Rise to power" was Hawke's tagline. We may see a version of the default protag... This is the limit of what I expect to see. I know it doesn't sound like much but the devs have to keep a lot of secrets for now and still "sell" the game, even as they want to show what they've been working on. They've been working hard and investing in it and probably wish they could show more and may even have been rushing to finish a little bit of content so it's exhibition ready.

Were I in their shoes, I'd be uneasy about what's coming because the fans seem to have all these high hopes and nothing less than meeting them will appease them. Yet they're doing their best to prove to us that it's awesome within the limits of disclosure that their bosses say they can use. I'm ostensibly not trying to think too hard about what may be revealed because I know they're not going to share any really juicy tidbits at this point. If I'm wrong about this, then that'll be awesome!

It won't matter what or how much they show at the reveal. There are always going to be people who are disappointed and those people tend to be the loudest on the Internet. There are people determined to hate this franchise no matter what BioWare puts out. I find it infuriating, because I'd be happy with a teeny, tiny teaser trailer at this point, or even a release date, but from the sounds of things, we may be getting more.

I think people sometimes forget that making games and the PR blah, blah that follows is a lot of hard work, and should be appreciated for that alone. I can't help but think of Cullen's 'The people expect too much of her' speech with this.

I am excited to see what has the devs excited. Obviously they are proud of their work, and frankly, I will be too.
