Yeah, it would be problematic if you played as a gay protagonist who wanted to romance Dorian as a FTM, but couldn't because you'd be stuck with the MTF version based on the fact that you didn't role a female protagonist and visa versa. But, it would explain why in the leaked survey pictures, there's a male and female mage that looks incredibly alike. I thought they were either the protagonist, or for a long shot, brother and sister twins... But if that's "Dorian" and "Doriana" (lol) well holy crap. Talk about a twist.

True, though if they do run with a transgendered companion/LI then I'd hope it would be one that wouldn't change from FTM to MTF based on the protagonist's gender.

I still say that those two in the survey leak were the protagonist though, simply because they keep turning up in the lore book in a leadership position.

The video is of Boy George singing "The Crying Game", which was featured in the movie. I thought it was appropriate considering the "rumor", lol.

Because I think their relationship, and his inability to accept who she was, was really the heart of the film. He wanted with all his heart to accept her, but he couldn't. Broke my frigging heart.

He kinda did at the very end. I mean, he still loved her even though he couldn't get beyond her situation at first.

What I thought was cool was that they actually used a bloke instead of a woman, pretending to be a man, pretending to be a woman.

I think that would be pretty groundbreaking if Dorian was a transgender male/female companion that you could romance. Looking at the "twins" now, I guess I could see it:

Like recently I watched this fictional detective show where this guy has a sex change for his gay partner because he couldn't face being openly gay due to his reputation, but instead of using an androgynous male or MTF actor they used a real female who had a slightly deep voice.

The "twins" look a lot like Hawke's early concept art. I wonder if maybe they decided to use those two for the new protagonist instead?
