That's the only bad feeling I get...ick...

but I still hold firm that Cullen will be a Companion

There was a really good post I read on Tumblr (I think the face model for Kaidan linked it actually) about all the reasons not to buy a the new xbox one, and instead put your money towards a really good gaming PC or at least the PS4. I just can't believe how ridiculous some of the features for this new xbox are (you really expect me to pay you for tv services? Really? ) Plus the whole "kinect is ALWAYS listening" thing is just creepy as f*ck.

I'm fully planning on buying the next DA on PC this time around (I usually go for the console first, as I'm a lot more comfortable with the controls on a controller vs keyboard) The greed of these companies, and the way they are abusing their consumers (us!) is just plain aggrivating.

OK, going to stop before I start some console vs PC war. I still do love my xbox, though mainly for streaming Netflix these days...occasionally for Minecraft :P

Luckily I think you can use the xbox controller on the PC, so possibly problem fixed? I've always gotten my biogames for the PC, personally.

And man, do I wish I had come up with Minecraft... or Angry Birds. Those folks must be able to buy such awesome gaming PCs with the money they must be raking in from how well those two games have done.

I'm glad I got a new high end PC now! I'll buy it on Xbox first if its compatible on current gen consoles. Apparently Xbox One will cost about £600 (roughly $800 for you guys), which is absolutely ridiculous money!

Whaaaat?!? Aw hellz no <_< You could just go out and buy a really good graphics card that will run the game beautifully, and still not even spend half of that. Such bullsh*t...makes me so grouchy

I hear ya!

If the Xbox One and PS4 really are that expensive and ridiculous then I'm just gonna use the money to upgrade my PC further to make it even more of a beast!

Playing games on my laptop would just feel weird for me, so I will stick with consoles, as I grew up playing games on Sega, Nintendo, etc. Just used to the feel of that controller in my hand! But ditto on that effing Xbox One. Hey Xbox, been a loyal customer all my adult life, but screw you. I'm switching to PS4 unless you start singing a different song, pal!

I might even be able to overlook the ridiculous price if some of its other features were in order. This thing about the "no used games" is bull, so is not having backwards compatibility. And again the kinect thing is just bizarre. Its pretty obvious they aren't even focusing on improving the video game aspect of it, moreso making it an all around entertainment system. Which whatever, if thats the route you wanna take fine. I'll be cool using the freaking remote to switch between watching TV and using my old xbox, kay thanks. Have we really reached that point in our laziness that we demand that aspect to be hands free? "Xbox! Read my mind because it is too much of a hassle for me to form words!"

I feel like my love affair with my PS3 is still shiny and new, despite having it for 3 years now... I got rid of my XBox - which I still miss sometimes - and haven't come close to building half the game library I once had. I just don't see why I need to buy another console yet. But still, I plan on getting a nice new desktop or laptop that I can game on. I haven't played  games on PC since Doom and find the console easier to use but this ridiculousness with the consoles isn't worth it. I'd rather spend my money on a PC, which upgradeable and parts fixable. Plus I wanna try modding with any game I can! :D

LOL Xbox! Make me a sammich!

I really have no problem with it being an all around home entertainment system; in fact, I am all about that sort of thing; my sister has Apple TV and it's AWESOME. But no old games, no sharing of games, pay for this, pay for that, AND it's pretty much the same amount as my paycheck? FCUK YOU XBOX!

I still have yet to do a fully aggressive Hawke! I just get so distracted by how amusing I find sarcastic Hawke. I think the only times I ever go full out aggressive is when you go to rescue Leandra and... well... y-you know, and when Keran or whatever his name is reveals that your bro is kidnapped. You don't touch my Hawke's family, man. That's when Chuckles becomes unforgiving. BC

Which leads to a question!

How 'perfect' is the Hawke you're going to load in first to DA:I/is your canon Hawke?

I purposely went out of my way to mess some sh!t up in my canon Hawke, so poor Merrill's clan is dead and the like. My main Hawke boy wasn't quite as good at making decisions as his cousin was.

For sure go for a desktop vs a laptop. The laptop has portability, but you're going to pay out of the a** to get one that can run a graphically heavy game (which I'm thinking Inquistion is going to be) even at the lowest setting. Smarter to get a good desktop to start at, then gradually improve it over time. Even if you find one that doesn't have a good graphics card, but everything else is in order and is at a good price, go for it. I got mine refurbished, which knocked off a good $200, then bought a good graphics card and installed it myself. It's surprisingly easy to do, though totally nerve wracking. I must have looked up five different videos before even opening my tower up

I'm on the same page as you. I keep hearing how awesome b*tch femme Hawke is, but I just love having her with a bit of snark as well, which turns into complete snark by the end of Act I.

I still have yet to finish even one playthrough of DA II on PC, but I'm close. The import from Origins was a Dalish elf that stayed a Warden w/ Alistair, and made overall good choices for each of the main quests (saved Isolde and Conner, crowned Harrowmont, helped Dalish and Werewolves) For Hawke, she's a pro mage mage, that is going to run away w/ Anders. I'd like to get my Amell Warden playthrough finished, and do a playthrough of a Rogue Hawke that romances either Sebastian or Isabela (though it'll probably be Anders...the b*stard) With my reluctance to stick with any of my current playthroughs though, it's not likely.

Diregun: With my canon Hawke I ballsed up a couple of things, like accidentally letting Karras live 'n' stuff, but hopefully it'll make for an interesting import.

Actually I am busy creating four canons right now! And carefully writing down in Word all the improtant things they do, such as save or kill Merrill's clan. That way if, say, something occurs if you DO save the clan, versus something that occurs if you DON'T, I'll know I'll have at least two different imports to cover that.

But in my heart, my canon Hawke's (I have two) are Nemanja Hawke and Eirik Hawke. The sad thing is, I can't remember all the choices they made. I just know Nemanja was a caring soul who was the rock of his family and likely did everything "right," but he was one of my firsts, so I may have done something without knowing I could get around it (like killing Merrill's clan). Eirik is a sarcastic guy who is kind of on the templar's side but also wasn't down with, ya know, outride genocide at the end of the game there lol He definitely made some more questionable calls.

I'd love to go this route, ideally. But since I'm a trucker, I klind of need portability to play anything! lol! :D But I was looking at some micro size towers. None of them were really powerful enough for a highend game though. So I may just shell out the extrafor a topend lappy. I won't know whicvh way I'm going on that though until I know if it appears I'll still be trucking when games start coming out. I'm hoping to go to school by next summer. So, we'll see.

Yea I figured the portability would be an important deciding factor for you. I hope you can find one at a good price that lets you enjoy it! I got a laptop for around $650 that let me run Origins, though it just recently broke after 3 years of frequent use.

I really would recommend looking at refurbished products. Most of the time they are brand new, or pretty close, for a much more reasonable price. And they come w/ good warranties on the off chance something happens.

Seriously? That's got to be a rumor. The PS3 retailed at $600+ here and it was absolute suicide for Sony. They struggled until it dropped in price. I would have to think Sony/M$ aren't dumb enough to price their consoles over $500 in this terrible economy. That's crazy. A really high end PC costs about $1000 if you build it yourself. That would blow away an X1.

I will seriously ****** my pants if that's true and pretty much write off any chance at buying an X1 anytime soon LOL!

Exactly. The no used games thing...major money grab. Kiss My Ass Mircorsoft. They are going down a path where ppl are gonna be so pissed they'll have to resort to changing it. Again. Sheesh...

The entire console is just plain weird and creepy. The graphics on my 360 are just fine ty vm. I don't need to feel like I'm in the game. I know it's a game. I want to know it's a game. Double sheesh...

I don't mind. :) I've been a gamer all my life. I went into trucking last year to help support my family when my husband's company he worked for went bankrupt and folded. If I had my way, I'd have been working on games years ago but I've never had the resources to teach myself and college has always been a just-out-of-reach dream. We were beginning to save up for it when our plans tanked. Again. So my husband is in school to become a pharmacy tech.I hope to go for my degree when he has a stable career. I'm 32. :D

I have a Cullen centric question for you all. I'm having trouble with this part of my fic. I have plenty for after this point but I'm stuck on something and maybe you all can help.

Ok: What kind of idea do you think Cullen might come up with to keep a mage Hawke under closer supervision - strictly his, the Order doesn't know - without resorting to arresting her? I thought maybe she could come to the Gallows every so often under the guise of "training" so that new recruits could learn basic forms from her - she does fight, shes a rogue - since the templars lost several knights here and there... But then I was worried that it was too unrealistic for Hawke and how she likes to traipse about everywhere and Cullen can't just follow her around. So I'm stumped. Any ideas?
