Okay, I honestly have to tell someone how much this shot creeps me out every time I see it. It's like Anders has hijacked poor Cullen's face. And I always felt like this moment was Anders trying to convince himself that he was really in love rather than him actually reveling in the fact that he was truly in love.LolaLei wrote...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels like this.
When I body swapped Cullen for Anders and video captured all of the Anders personal quests and romance scenes, I ended up laughing far too much. Anders' facial expressions always feel theatrical and Cullen looks ridiculous making over the top facial expressions that are completely out of character for him.
That said, I give bioware credit for animating each companion with unique body language and facial expressions that portray their personalities.

Well ladies, this thread has officially passed both the Varric, Aveline and Sebastian thread in page numbers. We're also only approximately 100 pages away (give or take) from being on par with the Isabela thread. Not bad for a non-romanceable NPC eh!
... At this rate the DA team are bound to notice eventually, I know the other forumites are starting to!
Wow! Adding in 76 pages in the original thread, Cullen is on par with Isabela's thread. Pretty amazing for an NPC. (it's all Greg Ellis' fault

Yeah, that was the thing that first struck me when I started doing these swaps, is how uniquely expressive each character was. For example:vieralynn wrote...

Anders, heart on on his sleeve:

Fenris, smolder, passive aggressive:

Then, later, this one just made me laugh at HOW non-Cullen it was -- Donnic, dopey puppy:

Ironically, I think the most in character swap I've done was... Aveline!

So, I know how to swap models on companions by editing save files. How did you swap on an NPC like Donnic?
EDIT: Oh, never mind. I just found some answers on Nexusmods!

Yeah, I pretty much followed this one: http://forums.nexusm...ng-npc-models/ which also references this for the heads:
http://www.thenexusf...ing-faces-mode/
But, in the end, I wasn't completely successful. I could never figure out what Donnic's armor model inside apr_base.gda was in order to replace it. Donnic doesn't have his own, so I tried replacing the general guard one(s), but it never worked. So, essentially all I really did was extract the Cullen mor, rename it to Donnic, repack it as an erf and put it in override.
Anyhoo, if you ever figure it out, please let me know!

Those the pages Google found for me.
Given how crazy the first half of the summer will be for me, it might be a while before I have a chance to play around with modding but if I ever figure out how to replace NPC armor models the "correct" way, I'll post about it.
Even when creating additional new followers with customized stats, I had to monkey around a good deal to get armor to work correctly.

HAHA! Preditory Cullen is the most OOC Cullen I've seen yet. It makes Anders-in-a-Cullen-suit believable.
I almost believe the look on sarcastic, patronizing, seductive Cullen's face. Almost. But only almost.
On the other hand, satisfied shirtless Cullen looks very believably satisfied in a Culleny sort of way. His emotions are always expressed through his eyes while his mouth is either neutral, a slight half-smile, or a frown.

Ooo! Speculation time! If they were to have a child, would it be a boy or a girl. And do you think the child would be a Mage like his/her Mother?

Agree, of all these, I've always thought the last one seems most feasibly Culleny... esp for that post-coital glow moment.vieralynn wrote...

Cool. Swapping the character-specific body models seems to be straightforward. But, for characters that use a generic body, like guards (including Donnic) and templars (Cullen included), I can't figure out what code is being used so that I can replace it. The generic ones in apr_base.gda are usu. full body, head included, and anyway, replacing those doesn't seem to do anything. *sigh* So much of this is still trial and error, for all the "tutorials" out there.vieralynn wrote...
