Could be, since they talk about alliances crumbling. But, the above quote is VO for Varric's scene, suggesting that all the dead dudes are due to the "war" and were presumably touched "by the fires above."

But I was also thinking for the purposes of our E3 pool. I think Veil rip wins. They didn't even focus on Inquisition... only Aaron Flynn said that word.

Yeah, I'd say that probably the situation too. Hopefully we won't be chucked right into the heart of the big bad straight away, I wanna see what things are like before everything gets a million times worse.

And Varric and the random body.. I think it could be any random soldier's body, he's probably just mourning the events being unfolded. He knew a lot of people besides Hawke 'n Co. too.

Yeah, I figured maybe there'd be little opportunity to appreciate the beautiful scenery if everything's gone to sh!t.

Was also wondering if the probable masquerade could even happen in such a setting. I'm sure there'll be some people looking to pretend like nothing's happening in Thedas. But I'm wondering how that's possible. I want a masquerade!

After watching trailer we still don't know what inquisition actually is.... It may be depicted there but without us really knowing :] I would also go for veil ripping for the purpose of the pool.
