Pimp Hand Button semi-confirmed rumour for DA:I!

What are the rings again? Seeker, not sure, not sure, Templars. What's the one next to the Templars?
Circle of Magi. The mysterious one is the glowing red one. So I imagine that's the one that might have something to do with the protagonist/dragons/something mysterious~
In another thread they said one was Tevinter---the red glowing one. The cirle was Circle of magi; then templar and seekers.
Someone speculated that these might be our background/origin choices...?
they're pretty swaggalicious!
Maybe its the inquisitor ring. Given we are supposed to play an inquisitor, and this person is robed, like the figure at the end of the trailer. Who could be the inquistor.Dirgegun wrote...

I suppose the red glowy ring could represent Tevinter, but I have my doubts. I find it hard to believe they would make the Tevinter ring stand out so much and overshadow the others, unless Tevinter ends up being very, very important. I... think that mysterious ring will represent either the dragons or something about the protagonist.
That might be the graphic designer in me talking, though.
That, and they could have used the Tevinter Shield if they wanted a ring to represent Tevinter.

Hmmmm, just had a thought. You know like in DA:O, a lot of rings, especially noble rings, are used to unlock secret passages....maybe this one does something similar, but unlocks certain memories during interrigations. Just a thought...Dirgegun wrote...

True!
I kind of want to believe it represents something more fancy than that, though. It is a very fancy ring. I might just be looking for conspiracy theories, though.

Good morning (or afternoon, or midday, or what have you) everyone. So...I'm not sure if I'm going to be around by the time we hit 2000. Would someone mind saving a spot for me on that page for my companion themed entry? I will be back later on today, but things have been moving pretty quickly, and I just want to make sure there's room.
This is also my theory, that it somehow is a "ring of office" or something for the Inquisitor. It's much too flashy, not just because it's a red stone, but they focus the picture around it standing out. So it's got to be something more than "just another" faction.Dirgegun wrote...

Been trolling this thread since it was back in the 700s. Amazing how fast it's flown.Almost 2000 pages in such a short time. This will certainly pass the Anders thread probably by the end of this month at this rate. Not bad for an NPC. Certainly safer here than in the other forums it seems and probably the best thread I've seen on any forum I've ever been on. I'm really shocked the trolls from the DA3 forum don't poke around in here, especially with the various devs posting here from time to time. Granted, maybe the Cullen in pink fur, the bow, etc put them off.

I'm with you about the fancy ring, it stands out too much to be 'just' another faction we need to recruit.R2s Muse wrote...

I wish we could see the one on his(?) thumb! I like the Grey Wardens idea.
edit: ALTHOUGH having them represent the backgrounds would certainly be interesting. However... I still can't help but think the survey leak was too correct, and our job as Inquisitor is to build alliances with these factions. Wouldn't make as much sense to me to be part of one of the factions as well... but as I'm writing this... I realize that's exactly what we did in DA:O and it added a personal dimension to meeting that faction (e.g. recruiting the Dalish as Mahariel).
How appropriateR2s Muse wrote...
yeah, the more I thought about it, the more I was thinking that it would be a cool new twist on the origin. That it's not so much a racial/ethnic( for lack of a better description?) origin like DA:O, but a more career-oriented origin. You're a: templar, seeker, 'rebel' mage, Orlesian assassin for the crown, Tevinter magister ...? I dunno, it would be a little different, esp since we don't get a choice of races this time.neonmoth wrote...

...and I would be sceptical about the rings reflecting origins, since I imagined that our pc would start unaligned, hopefully a nobody within political landscape. Being a seeker could be fun but for me it would feel that a character was determined too much at the start of the game. Somehow it doesn't seem fitting. On the other hand what origins could we have.

I guess I might have not think about it enough yet :] Maybe I am too set on the faction and imagine my pc being somebody within its ranks. The way you write about it makes sense, since you could be a nobody as a rebel mage (leaving a circle would leave you with nothing), yet you would still have a past and personal baggage. Though the problem I have now is that I'm trying to imagine how would you get involved in the plot having all those different backgrounds without playable origins that bring you to the common place in the story. Unless the glimps of potential protagonist in the trailer would indicate that due to some circumstances you have landed in the middle of a desert, with no money and no friends. But then again, how origins would affect your story, if you start in the same place.R2s Muse wrote...

Yeah, initially I thought it was Flemeth but Morrigan has a distinctive voice and it was definitely her VO.Lord Xendria wrote...

I just realized something. If Flemeth's VO was recording for DAI (and DG mentioned working with her on his blog), then there is no chance she could possess Morrigan's body since she would then only need Morrigan's VO( Hence Flemeth is more likely to appear as good old self. Hear my hopes have crumbled...
Anyway, back to the schedule, I would be more inclined to believe that Flemeth stashed my Warden and Hawke somewhere :]
