I was thinking, in the trailer we see a bunch of demons and one of them is all red and spiky. Do you supposed that it could be infused with red lyrium? The creature is wearing a helmet of some sorts and it got me thinking, what if it's an old god or worse, a templar that has been twisted and deformed through using too much of the stuff?

The (rather unknowledgable) IGN dudes mentioned that in their trailer rewind, that dreadlocks-lookin demon could be an old god. Interesting idea.

Well Corypheus is still on the loose, so he might've woken up a bunch of them?

I so much would rather there be a playful reunion between the two. Mostly because I really want to see Varric as a companion now , and doubt they'd bring the pair of them back as companions together. Either way, I'm gonna be overjoyed. 

Edit: @neon That is so sweet, thank you!  Feel free to hang onto any photoshopped Cullen that you need to, for science and such. Don't worry, I know how it goes.

Haha, that's so awesome. Cannot blame him or the animators at all for discarding anything negative that some random people rant about online. Go try to model a human face on Maya or something, JUST the face, then maybe they can make a suggestion to them about how to do their f*cking job! I emphasize maybe here, because anyone that isn't personally involved in the creation of the game shouldn't be making demands of the devs. 

I'm feeling especially protective over Bioware today, I have no idea why

Pretty much everything that we will see up to the release of the game will be subject to change in some way. Especially character design, oh dear designs change so many times and not all of them are huge. I got my opinions about the current designs but it's still waaaaay to early for me to really say anything. I got faith that the art team will change if they feel they got a better design.

I hear ya, plus it's early days those are unlikely to be their final model. I can see how some people were initially surprised at how different the game looks but I wouldn't say any of the three characters shown were hideous or anything. If anything, I was impressed at how realistic the skin textures were.

I reckon we'll be able to make some truly unique custom protagonist's in the CC this time round.
