I was gonna add a post talking about how I want Maevaris appear in the main game. She was pretty awesome in the comic book.

Agree! She was one of my favorite things about the comics. It's cool that they designed her concept art in full knowledge of her being transgender.

That blog entry was a really great read. I even loved how Gaider was like, "I didn't know what the hell I was doing". Lol.

You know, in my life I've run into all kinds of ppl. Different races; religions; ages; socio-economic backgrounds; sexual orientations. You name it.

The one and only truth I have ever found is that either you're cool ppl, or you're not. And being cool ppl--or not-- is the only thing that cuts across all things. Cool, or not, ppl are found everywhere!

Life is extraordinarily varied. That's "realism". The much touted, "we want it realistic. It needs to be realistic." Well, guess what, the reality is that Life is varied. It is brimming w/variety. I think perhaps this "realism" so many want is really just the reality of their isolated world/lives.

Ppl really just need to get out more, methinks.

oh, and Mae West, ftw!

Couldn't have put it better myself! <3

Oh, screenshots. Ty Nikki!

Lessee..I thought the Seekers were busting in the Wardens door? I know there's been sum debate on that, but it seems most logical to me. And the Seekers don't seem to have much love for the Wardens.

Ok, as far as the map picture goes, here's a couple of things I noitced...

On the top of the map, I'm almost positive it reads "The Empire of Orlais" Nothing really important there, since we already know it's showing Orlais.

But the area where Dales is supposed to be, is now what looks to be a gaping hole. There also seems to be a huge crack in the earth where the Western Approach used to be. This might all just be the way that specific map is Illustrated to them, but then again maybe those areas have been completely lost to the Veil rips?

Edit: Zoomed in pic for reference. I circled the areas I was talking about

Edit Pt II: I'm also left to wonder...where exactly are all these different armies headed to? What is the endgame destination? They all seem to be working towards the center of Orlais. What is there that makes it so vital to win control of?

I noticed that there seems to be roots growing out of the top of ceiling where the map table is. And that the map table seems to be built out of a cross-section of a log. And there's a copy of "Hard in Hightown II" on the table. And what looks to be playing cards.

Maybe they're underground?

Okay, in the upper left corner of the map, it looks like they're using something to represent the forces in that area, is that the Tevinter symbol? and on the upper center of the map, it looks like a Griffon, so perhaps those are the Grey Wardens? And the upper right, that seems to be a Chantry symbol or a Seeker symbol? I'm not sure. But that lends some idea to who might be fighting or if forces are rallying against the veil tears.

It's hard to say, but there is definitely what looks to be a giant rift at the western approach. The Dales part is hard for me to figure out...it looks like it fell into the earth, honestly. The tendrils slope down into the earth.

Aw, shyte.

And then there are three boats/ships. I was also trying to read the names toward the bottom of the map where she stabs it...lol..but I can't make it out. There's also another lil statue there.

What is that area she stabs?

I thought the upper left might be the Qunari.

Are these armies heading somewhere, or are they markers showing who's where and how many?

It's either Deauvin Flats (though I think that area got sucked into the Dales hole as well) or Montisimmard, which is an area along the Imperial Highway. I don't think she's stabbing an area in particular, more so just stabbing for the sake of stabbing and Cassandra rage :P

Kinda reminds me of ME3 when we had to locate the different factions to deal with their issues and recruit them into the fight against the Reapers. Probably the same premise going on with the map.

Ooh, that's a good guess! Like, we need to go get help from the Wardens, but they are currently dealing with a new threat in the Deep Roads, or are having issues with the Seekers that need to be resolved (like the Quarians and Geth where they start off fighting, and in the end you can sway both sides to your aid)

So what do you reckon? Do you think we'll only be exploring Orlais? Or other countries too?

Nikki: Yeah, just like that. I mean, in that clip that's just Cassandra mapping it out but presumably we'd have to do the same or use hers to figure out where we need to go etc.

I hope we go to more than Orlais. But it is a civil war in Orlais going on, too.

I imagine Cass would be very occupied w/that. Sooo her map of interest may not be our map of interest.

But Dales really don't look good.

I think we're going to different places. I think the places where they showed the concept fashions are big areas that we're going, so Orlais, Tevinter, and also Fereldan again.

I think we're going to meet Dorian in Tevinter, and possibly see that half-Elven mage that we may or may not have helped.

After seeing what I am now almost 100% certain is Weishaupt, I am sure we're going to be doing a lot of traveling. I think the Wardens are fighting the Qunari, more than the Seekers. They show the monster Qunari in the rain right after showing the fortress w/ the Griffon in the storm, and this screen...

makes me think they are under attack from gaatlok

I'd love to revisit some of our old stomping grounds from the previous games, even Kirkwall. If Cullen is a companion/LI then we'd absolutely have to take him with us, he can be like our angsty tour guide LOL!

Not to downplay your theory, but why would the Qunari attack the Wardens? Sten was sent to learn about the Wardens and the Blight, and take back the information. The Qunari should know that only the Wardens can stop a blight, and one day the Qunari may need them if they are ever faced with a blight in Par Vollen.

I'm not even sure they are all attacking each other, this could just be each faction responding to the veil tear. If you notice during the trailer those flashes of green light indicates that this is happening as the "fire falls from the skies". As Morrigan says none are free from it (or whatever her exact words were).

Proximity? Opportunity? With the rest of the world fighting tears in the Veil, civil war in Orlais, and the whole Mage/Templar war, the Wardens are the only game piece on the board that is not currently already occupied. They may have also taken the information gained by Sten (who is now pretty much the leader I believe) and learned just how much of an asset the Wardens are. The Qunari don't waste anything they take or come to acquire by any other means, the Wardens not being an exception. If they truely wanted to keep the Wardens around to stop any future Blights, they would want to take control of them as soon as possible if their previous actions are anything to go by.

Edit: The same thing would go if they viewed them as a threat. Attacking and acquiring the Wardens when they have no allies to call on, due to other more pressing issues, would be an important battle strategy.

I think the point of that trailer is just to show everyone is at war. A world war in Thedas if you will. That was definitely a Warden HQ they were bombing in that trailer. It was the first thought that came in my mind when I saw it.
