I hope they open up the character/companion part of the DA3 forums soon, even if they don't announce them until much, much later on.

Even if Cullen isn't a companion/LI it would still be nice to start a fresh thread for the next game in the correct designated part of the DA3 forum. We know he's in the new game anyway so eventually it's just gonna start to feel odd speculating about his role in DA3 in the DA2 forum.

*Edit* I kinda feel like we are pretty much banished to the old abandoned DA2 forum to discuss Cullen sensibly since we can't open up an official Cullen fan thread in the main DA3 forum because it'll be in the wrong section and would get shut down, AND even if it wasn't shut down it would get flooded by haters, trolls and then turn into a mages vs templars thread, then promptly shut down anyway. Hell, we can't even make a thread about his possible inclusion or ask/answer legit questions involving him without them all attacking us.

Can't bring myself to play through the Mass Effect games again thanks to those endings. Played Jade Empire so many times I'm bored of it. Urgh, I just can't seem to find a game that scratches the itch that only BioWare seem to be able to solve. The next 15-18 months are gonna be he'll if I can't find a decent replacement.

Oh, I know. BioWare has spoiled me a great deal. Have you tried BioShock Infinite? That game was REALLY good, and it will scratch the itch for a little while.

If you have a 3DS I would recommend Animal Crossing New Leaf. You can lose yourself in Animal Crossing games for weeks or even months.

All about paying an obscenely amount of money for a house to a fat tanuki, catching fish & bugs while listening to humanoid animals speak a wacko language 

Bioware games have a very special place in the center of my heart, but I love being a versatile gamer.

I'm not really into those types of games anymore. I used to play the arse of The Sims when I was younger, but that sort of thing just doesn't hold my attention anymore.

Maybe I should try harder to get into SWTOR. I picked the Smuggler campaign but its not floating my boat. I wanted to be a Twi'lek but those are still locked.

Lola, did you try Dragon's Dogma? It's sorta like playing Skyrim with better combat.

I want tips as well. No good RPG's coming out soon?

Yeah tried it, hated it (except the combat). Damn thing kept corrupting my saves so as soon as I'd turn it off my save file would magically disappear and I'd have to start again.

Not sure on the RPG front, I think we're boned for RPGs until the new consoles come out.

I'm actually considering getting a ps3 to tide me over. Lots of good games that I never played due to being on the box, but I'm not sure I'll get permission to plant yet another gaming device in the livingroom.

If they reveal companions like they did before, that would be the safest time. It's a long wait, but to avoid the thread's needless shut-down it should work out.

I swear, if we should ever shove a coal up BSN's arse in two weeks we'd have a giant diamond reflecting all the arse-f***ery.


It took me a long time to get into Dragon's Dogma. Now I love it. It can be an exhausting game though.

Oh, I can see how that would be a tad annoying.  I'm currently hating it because of the quest structure, but that will pass and I'm loving the combat.

Owning a xbox and avoiding FPS is a crappy mix...

If not, I imagine it will be something like ME3s multiplayer? I would be okay with it, actually, if that's the case. I found the ME3 MP rather fun, though I did it on the demo so much that I didn't feel like doing it when I got the actual game. Woops.

I've resigned myself to playing kingdoms of Amalur....at least I can hear Cullen every other npc I speak to

Diablo 3 is also being re-released for current consoles. In September, I think? Greg Ellis does a voice for that, as well.

Works for me, because it kept pooping up on my PC. Not many "new" fantasy based and RPG games are coming out for current gen.. big amount for next-gen, though.

Very steam-punkish and sci-fi and fantasy. And a buncha other words.

I'm collecting up Dragon's Dogma, Of Orcs and Men, Kingdoms of Amalur, The Last of Us, Diablo 3, and gods know what other releases. Even those'll only last so long, though.

Most of my more anticipated games aren't releasing for a good while. BioWare really does do things a certain way that other games can't satisfy in the same way. It's like reading a really good book, and all other books might be boring or various levels of entertaining, but don't "do it for you" the same way till you find a new series to obsess about.

I wish some of those could of happened in-game.. but then again, then we'd have even less of a chance of having Cullen come back and be a companion in 3.

So here's my geeky contribution to the map analysis. I plotted the positions of the map markers on the real map, plus have close ups of the various markers. My current thought is:

Marker 1: Circle of Magi (circle symbol like heraldry); dwarves (sorta paragon-ish); qunari? (but seems odd direction)

Marker 2: Grey Wardens (up close, the fig wears the winged helmet); maybe: Chantry/Andraste? Tevinter?

Marker 3: Def Seeker symbol

Marker 4: No idea. Looks like a tower to me.

Also of interest...
1. No one is in Val Royeaux. So these are all forces nearby/closing in.
2. Whose batter ram in the Frostbacks? Or has it just not been placed yet?
