Maybe the Inquisitors have a lead on some magic-y stuff. Or, a lead on the Wardens and their magic-y stuff.

Somebody's up to something. But the image just reminds me of Dagna. In human form. Maybe for the survey, but something abt it.

Good point, I'd love for that to be Dagna. Didn't Dave of Canada mention that sometimes they'll get the artists to draw up human versions of certain characters in order to help "non-fans" familiarise themselves... or something like that?

yeah, that's where it kinda clicked for me. I mean, I don;t know, but w/Darrah and that lil slip up abt Dagna at one of the panels. and what Dave said, I thought , hmmm.

But who would be the fem li's then?

I thought DA2 spanned only 10 years? A "decade ago" would imply DAI takes place soon after DA2. Like right after or soon after Cassandra is done interrogating Varic, something happens and that is the start of DAI

Hawke spent 7 years in Kirkwall from the time he/she arrived, until he/she leaves. 3 years later Cassandra interrogates Varric, just prior to the interrogation the events of the Asunder novel happen. So by the time we pick up DAI it'll probably be a year or so after... or maybe even straight after. Either way, that still counts as a decade.

For some reason, I had the idea that Varric was hauled in by Cass only 6 months after Hawke left. I also thought Hawke's time line was: Arrived in Kirkwall and spent a year working for Meeran or Athenril, so when we see them trying to get onto Bartrand's expedition, it's already a year since they started. Then they spent three years scrounging up money for the expedition and at the end of act 1, they go to the Deep Roads. that's a total of four years. After that, another three years passes before Hawke becomes Champion. 7 years. Finally another 3 years from Champion to fighting Meredith, making it 10 years total. I'll have to go look into this because I got this idea fromsomewhere but never investigated it further. But I was pretty sure Hawke was in Kirkwall 10 years, or nearly 10 and varric's chat with Cassandra was soon after Hawke left but not right after. I must look into this.:D

No, it's better to be lost. I think. Then you get that whole joy of discovery thing. And truth is, there's something to that.

So, don;t worry abt it.

They've already said they'll never put something from the comics/books in game without explaining it, so you'll be right. :wizard:

No, Darrah said something on the Twitter awhile back abt when DAI would jump off. And iirc, it was right away.

Mind you, that was awhile ago. Things may have changed, but alot of ppl had questions abt that, and he said no time skips in regards to when DAI would start.

It was MLaw who only said it was post-Asunder. Not how long after. So all we know is it's 9:40 or after. Since it probably within a few years of Asunder, like Lola said, is about a decade after the Blight.

Nope he was definitely only there for 7, it says so in the World of Thedas lore book. 3 years after Hawke's departure (after killing Meredith) is when Cass interrogates Varric. So technically when the opening scenes of DA2 start it's already been 10 years since Hawke arrived in Kirkwall, but 3 years since he/she actually left.

No, each act itself is negligibly short. Hawke doesn't spend 3 yrs collecting money, it's only weeks to months.
9:30: Hawke arrives
9:31: Hawke begins Act 1, goes to Deep Roads
3yr break
9:34: Act 2, Hawke becomes Champion (date confirmed in champion codex)
3yr break
9:37: Act 3
3yr break
9:40: Cass interrogates Varric (confirmed in WoT, also all verbiage stating that game takes place over a decade, and the mention of templar split from Chantry, which is in 9:40)

How do you find that so fast?

But no, it was Darrah. The part I distinctly remember was he said , "no time skips" in regards to when DAI would start.

But it isn't already a decade after the Blight by the time Cass is interogating Varric?

Yeah, I don't know where I got that idea from! lol!Probably from the "3 year gap" the devs were talking about when they were hyping up DA2 before release and it just stuck after that. Boy was I off! hahahahahahaha! I looked at the Dragon Age wiki and Hawke does arrive in Kirkwall 9:30 Dragon and leaves in 9:37 Dragon. So DA:I can start 3 years after Hawke left but right after the end of DA2 - the part where Cass tells Leliana that Hawke is gone like the Warden, not Meredith's demise. We might get scruffy prisoner Cullen after all! =D

The wait would've been unbearable since the last thing we heard would've been PAX East in March 2012, however that trailer would've made a bigger impact since we would've been in the dark about the protagonist being the Inquisitor and the veil rip thingy, so speculation now would've been mammoth!

Ah, but what hell do I know abt when it's gonna start? Annnnd, I don;t really care. I hope it's not too far into the future. A couple of months? Cool. I could see events building and erupting.

But then it depends on we enter the scene. I Really hope we don't just hit the ground running. I like a lil before and after. I mean, there's tension and all, but I'd like to be in on when things really jump off.

I don't wanna be thrown in, "Ah, the Veil has already ripped! Help us!" I wanna have a look see first.

Yeah, I mean for all we know the game might open with Cassandra leaving Kirkwall and heading back to Orlais to report to the Divine or something.

... And poor Cullen may have been sat in a dungeon for three years LOL!

Here's the weird thing, the tweet shows up when you type "Greg Ellis" into the twitter search, but don't actually click on his profile. However, if you click on his profile itself it doesn't show up. So presumably, even if you delete a tweet it can still be seen in a twitter search if someone else has replied to it.

Ah, not sure I've seen that one! I'd heard no time skips in general... not about starting DA3. Interesting...

But yeah, that's what I meant about the decade. Cass interrogates Varric in 9:40, but he mentions the breaking of the accord from Asunder, which is also in 9:40. So if DA3 starts close after the end of Asunder, 9:40ish, that's still basically a decade after the Fifth Blight.

huh. that's so weird. you know, most of his "replies" that show up in the search don't show up on his account, not just the cullen one. Could it just be a twitter prob instead of intentional deleting?

I think I'm gonna go work on my slightly aggressive, pro-Templar PT of DA2. It's hard being
Pro Templar. Well, not really. Not until the end cuz I have no real good reason to Execute every mage in the Circle for what Anders did. Pro Templar PT, or not.

Ack, and now Bethany is in the Circle. I mean, what do they want me to do? Kill my sister? Kill these innocent mages? Well, at least innocent of this. And the cutscene part...none of them turn into abominations even tho the Templar are cutting thru them. Not until Orsino pulls his crap.

Playing ProTemplar is hard for me. They dont give me a good reason in the end to massacre the Circle mages.

However, I will persevere. For science. And I'll catch up on my codex. I enjoy the codex after a long day/nite of killing...

Possibly. When I run a search on my Twitter name it doesn't show up any of my tweets beyond the pictures I've tweeted, everything else are just replies to me.

OH! Just figured it out. There's a toggle at the top of his profile to choose either "all" or "no replies". Choose "all" and it shows up!
