mmm..... Bethany goes to the Circle... so Cullen shows up ...rapscallioness wrote...
I think I'm gonna go work on my slightly aggressive, pro-Templar PT of DA2. It's hard being
Pro Templar. Well, not really. Not until the end cuz I have no real good reason to Execute every mage in the Circle for what Anders did. Pro Templar PT, or not.
Ack, and now Bethany is in the Circle. I mean, what do they want me to do? Kill my sister? Kill these innocent mages? Well, at least innocent of this. And the cutscene part...none of them turn into abominations even tho the Templar are cutting thru them. Not until Orsino pulls his crap.
Playing ProTemplar is hard for me. They dont give me a good reason in the end to massacre the Circle mages.
However, I will persevere. For science. And I'll catch up on my codex. I enjoy the codex after a long day/nite of killing...

edit: but it was either that or take her to the deep roads. I'm playing rogue and that would leave me w/2 mages and Varric. Too many range. Not balanced. And I just can't leave her to die...Besides I don;t think she really likes being a Warden.

Yeah, I don't know where I got that idea from! lol!Probably from the "3 year gap" the devs were talking about when they were hyping up DA2 before release and it just stuck after that. Boy was I off! hahahahahahaha! I looked at the Dragon Age wiki and Hawke does arrive in Kirkwall 9:30 Dragon and leaves in 9:37 Dragon. So DA:I can start 3 years after Hawke left but right after the end of DA2 - the part where Cass tells Leliana that Hawke is gone like the Warden, not Meredith's demise. We might get scruffy prisoner Cullen after all! =D
You probably got the idea from the fact that it, um, makes more sense that they would investigate right afterwards...? LOL It took me a while to wrap my head around that, too. The first time I wrote my long-hair, prisoner Cullen scene, gosh, almost two years ago(!), I had the timing wrong with it not long after Meredith died.

And then after I bend over backwards to save her life, she gets all..."It's nice to see you...I suppose."
eye roll. I like how Carver works. He starts out petulant. And then grows, if you work it that way, and your Fam relationship w/him gets much better. It's a nice progression.

You know, I find Cullen to be kind of a dick when you're aggressively pro-templar. I thought it was fascinating that he's most moderate when you try to convince him that the Circle needs to change. My pro-templar PT I played it moderate, trying to find a workable solution for everyone and moderated my official pro-templar choices to ones I could still stomach.rapscallioness wrote...
But wait..yes R2. So now I don;t know how to feel abt Cullen. I'm torn!

edit: I unabashedly love the scene where he takes Beth, tho! Sooooo sexy when he gets ready to throw down with Hawke.

"Yeah, you want to be careful about the survey. The reason we've always urged caution regarding it is that much (if not all) has changed since then, and some of it was inaccurate to begin with. So citing it as a source of information can get you into trouble.
Still, I guess it's something, right?"

The game title, protagonists and basic plot description were correct though, so I guess only some of it has changed.

Heh heh, at least he flat out discussed the survey instead of the caginess we normally see.
Right... really going to bed now!

There is an instance if I remember correctly where if you chose to side with the Templars for the endgame, I think right before you go to confront Orsino, where Hawke and Cullen can team up against Meredith to keep her from killing a group of mages that surrendered to the templars. So I suppose that it's not quite the mindless slaughter of all mages then right? At least that's what I tell myself. XD
Edit: I totally just realized how late to the party I am. XD You guys really go through the pages at light speed eh?

True. I reckon the "peace gathering" part has probably been scrapped in favour of it just bursting open at random, thus calling for a large group to come together and form the Inquisition instead.

So, did Greg Ellis really delete that last tweet abt..."Although that may all change tom?"
Did BW send the Men in Black to his house...again? Ha! Poor guy.
Here's the weird thing, the tweet shows up when you type "Greg Ellis" into the twitter search, but don't actually click on his profile. However, if you click on his profile itself it doesn't show up. So presumably, even if you delete a tweet it can still be seen in a twitter search if someone else has replied to it.
What tweet are y'all referencing? The really really old one about voicing Cullen again?

Ah the templar ending. I think I might just be one of the handful of people who went along with it (along with the killing Anders bit).

That's the only downside to going pro-mage is that you don't to see Cullen protect those three mages, presumably in the pro-mage ending he still tries to protect them, we just don't see it and he was likely unsuccessful since Hawke isn't there to call the shots.

Naw, it was one asking if he was ready for the DA3 reveal and Cullen's possible inclusion, he replied saying he didn't know what she was talking about *wink wink nudge nudge* but that it might change "tomorrow". Of course, nothing changed because Cullen wasn't in the trailer, lol.

This is going to sound horrible, but I always tend to kill Bethany in the Deep Roads for the exact reasons above. It doesn't matter if she goes to the circle or you make her a Warden, she turns into a cow. An especially ungrateful one if she's a Warden.
I tend to play as a Mage anyway, so I'm not stuck with making the decision to off her, and I've always been partial to Carver anyway. You said it best, his story has a nicer progression. He takes what he gets and he makes it into something of his own.
Bethany comes off as resentful and bitter.

Is she weird towards Hawke even if you 100% friendmanced her? It's been so long since I played anything other than a mage Hawke that I've forgotten.

I was thinking, that protagonist in the sand storm at the end of the trailer could be coming from the Western Approach, perhaps as a survivor of the events that happened in the Asunder novel? Although what the hell he/she was doing there is anyones guess.
It could be Cullen! It's so obscured that it's impossible to tell but it looked like a Cullen shape to me!

I thought that at first, but the outline of the (presumably) guy appears to be wearing the Inquisitors outfit (or at least, the silhouette of it!)
