I was thinking, that protagonist in the sand storm at the end of the trailer could be coming from the Western Approach, perhaps as a survivor of the events that happened in the Asunder novel? Although what the hell he/she was doing there is anyones guess.

I think its the Silent Plains, actually, because The Western Approach isn't a typical desert. From Asunder: "The Approach had a strange sort of beauty to it. It was a desert, but not a warm desert with glowing yellow sand. It was a cold desert, mottled purple like an unhealed bruise. Rocky pillars jutted out of the sand like brittle, twisted bones; there was a sense that the howling winds had long covered everything else."

And if it is the Silent Plains, I expect to ride a giant scorpion as the Tevinters in the area do. ^_^

Red arrows show that the silhouette's are the same shape

Blue arrows show that all three images have that upper arm guard on one arm

Green arrows show that all three are wearing the same hood

Purple arrows show that in two of the pictures they are wearing the flappy cape (you can't see below the waste on the third image).

Good point! I'd forgotten about the sand colour. What other deserts are there besides the Silent Plains and the Western Approach?

From the map of Thedas, I can't tell, exactly, though it looks like those are the only two, and those are the only two I know of. I do hope it is the Silents Plains because if so, that means we get to explore a lot of Thedas rather than stay restricted to one country. That'd be cool.

Lola you're turning into our resident John Madden I see!

It's probably a safe bet to say that the shadowy character in the desert is our default male protagonist. I can't wait to see what both defaults look like! I always lean towards playing my own custom morphed character, but it's still cool to see what they come up w/.

LMAO! Yeah, I'd say that's definitely the male protagonist but the female's outfit is the same just smaller and woman shaped.

The protagonist in the survey leak looks Rivani, so that'll be cool if they've stuck with that... although the male in the survey leak looks like my custom male Hawke, which is highly amusing to me.

I reckon the CC is gonna give us some amazing options for customisation this time round. It'll be awesome if we do finally get to make custom Inquisitors that actually look as unique as the default versions. I always hated that in DA2 if you didn't use the default female Hawke then she would always look just like an npc, oddly I didn't have that issue with custom male Hawke's, but my canon one has a massive tattoo under his eye, piercing grey blue eyes, long hair and Rivani skin so he was pretty striking! <3

I want my custom Inquisitor(s) to look as unique as my companions do.

Yea it seems like they use custom textures and face morphs for the defaults that really set them apart, and then kinda just fart out the generic models for all the presets. I'd really prefer if we had maybe 3-4 preset options, but each one is very distinct and specialized from what other NPCs look like. I have high hopes for our customization options this time around!

Yeah, especially considering you have to pick one of the presets as a base for the customisation. I'm hoping that the CC will contain certain attributes (like certain makeup colours, freckle patterns, moles/beauty spots/etc)  that are available only to the protagonist (with exception of the companions) so that the custom models don't look as generic as the background npcs wondering around Thedas.

Well the nice thing about playing on PC is even if it is restricted, modders are able to make it so those options are available for the other customizable presets as well. I'm not sure if it's going to be as quick of a fix as it usally is, because the Bioware team would have had to make an entirely new toolset on this new engine, but hopefully they will release the toolset for modders like they did for Origins.

I know! I try not to focus too much on what "could have been" if the toolset was released for DA2 *cough*fullblown Seb romance*cough*

Has anyone ever managed to gain access to the DA2 voice files to see if Cullen had any hidden/unused dialogue?

They did say they plan to use a female inquisitor in advertising sometime, so I don't think we have to worry about not seeing her. Especially after Fem!Shep was used in advertising for ME3. c:

And as for another desert... doesn't the Anderfels have a desert?

Even though I never play through as one, I'd really like for them to use a blonde default look for both genders, just to break out from the norm. Not saying it has to be Barbie running around chopping off heads, but a sandy or strawberry blonde would be neat.

Yeah, there seems to be a real stigma attached to blonde female protagonists. Sucks really.

I think it's because a lot of people can't get by the "dumb blonde" stereotype, which sucks. I wouldn't mind this one being blonde, or sandy haired, or strawberry blonde. Ohhh maybe with brown or green eyes?

I really wanted FemShep to be a ginger. And she IS a ginger but her entire design...it's just...to me, it's not good. But everyone else may think differently.

I found female Shepards face to look more cartoony than everyone else's. Her head kinda seemed a little too big for her body. She looked awesome in the CGI trailer though!

The ME3 preset FemShep had derpy eyes. Fact. I couldn't get over them. :/
