Here's a really interesting article with Aaryn Flynn if you haven't seen it yet. It talks a little about the plot of DA3 and some of the things we can expect.

He never said this in any of my playthroughs. Apparently I didn't click on him enough.

yeah, i talk to everybody...always. everytime i go home. heck, even in the hanged man, or the chantry. i click away...sigh. but i love it. there's sum fun and sometimes informative lil nuggets. i just click while i'm walking by.

as far as cullen rendering, i got nothing. i can't find anything that would look like a good rendering of cullen in the style da is going in.

i hope i don't cry like a lil poophead if/when he is in game. lol.

now i'm on to real life actors i think could be...cullen-y.

one time, i believe it was the chantry and sum sisters are talking abt a noblewoman's son that wasn't yet married. "And I hear the Champion has not yet married as well. So, maybe there's still a chance.." giggle. giggle.

Or, something like that. I hadn't committed to anyone yet in that pt. It was funny. I was like oh, maker. The old ones are matchmaking me! Which I shoulda figured...

Omg, so we do have to pick a side! Mages or templars... this could mean we lose Cullen.

That article is incredibly interesting! It says in the coming months we'll learn about the new and returning characters and their roles!

Also, if we have to pick a side in the wars between countries, I'm totally siding with Ferelden!

Would they make us choose between MAges and Templars Again?
I mean it was the big decision at the end of DA2...
I think it's going to be more complicated than that.

Cullen has this prominent nose and angular face. Although, in DAO his face was more square and his eyes farther apart. I like the DA2 version better.

maybe a lil bit of jude law...but thicker hair...

I know we've already discussed how that symbol might be related to the Dalish...but I just played through the Dalish Origin this morning and I swear that (without the swords) it  looks exactly like the symbol for Elgar'nan.

Elgar'nan is the God of Vengeance, and the leader of the elven pantheon. Which would be pretty appropriate for an elven rebellion.

Of course, I have no idea what the Qunari is doing there so I could be completely wrong. :pinched:

that article is interesting, but i'm having a difficult time telling what Flynn actually said, and how much is being paraphrased. Or is the journo's assumption.

I mean, do you think Flynn would say that Andraste is the god? Is the overriding theme of the game for you to pick between mages and templars? I don't think so...

It seems alot of input from the journo itself. I really like the straightforward interviews. where I can see the transcript of questions asked and the actual full answers.

It is more complicated, because it's not just the Templars this time, it's the Chantry. The Chantry is a BIG deal. And remember the devs said quite a while back that our character is not forced to be "pro-Chantry". And also remember, the Templars are rebelling against the Chantry to do their own thing.

The part where it said "will we leave Ferelden" did set off some warning bells. I'll look into this and see what's what.

Quoted from article:

"As the Chantry’s oppression of the mages comes to a head in the opening of Inquisition, a Fade tear splits the sky, leading dragons and other monsters into the fray, “and that kicks off the events." Following that, nations plunge into war, and “the decision is made to bring back an inquisition to find out what’s going on and stop this,” Flynn explains."

So we're probably going to see, in a sense, the events of what took place in Asunder at the beginning of the game. The Mages rebel, the Templars rebel against the Chantry. Then the Fade rips open, spilling demons and dragons and all hell breaks loose. Then nations go to war. Then the decision is made to have an Inquisition.

I think the journalist forgot that we've already seen Kirkwall in the Free Marches. But we already know that we're going to Orlais. And possibly Tevinter. And probably, we will be seeing Fereldan again. I say that based on the concept art designs for the clothes. Morrigan was wearing an Orlesian dress in the trailer.

Thing is, we technically there are three factions within that situation: mages, rebelled templars and divine loyal templars.

What's curious is that the Divine is kinda pro-mage (of sorts), but the Chantry itself isn't. So does that put the Divine in favour of the mages or templars, especially now the bulk of the templars have buggered off on their own? Subsequently, would Cullen be inclined to side with the Divine after all? He is loyal to the Chantry, after all.

In one thread me and another person speculated that it could be either an alliance between the Qunari and Dalish. Rebelling against the humans? Both pretty much have bad experiences with the humans.

I think with Cullen, it will be a choice like with what you had to make with Alistair and Loghain. If you allowed Loghain to become a Grey Warden, no matter what, Alistair would leave the party, unless he was committed to marrying Anora and be king. But he still left the Warden's party.

I can see it being with Cullen the same way. Not necessarily choosing the templars, but choosing the Chantry. If you choose anyone besides the Chantry, I can see him leaving or fighting against you. But then, who knows... He's seen both sides of the coin. His viewpoints could change between what's already happened and what will happen.
