If you want to post an image that exists somewhere else on the internet, right click on that image, and choose "Show image" then go up and copy the URL for just the image. So, I'm playing Skyrim again, and I have to say I'm really glad that DA:I isn't going completely open world. In the time it takes to run from Markarth to Riften I could walk in real life to my local grocery store and back.
It makes for a cool "there are no limits" feeling in the game, but it also makes the country itself feel very small. I'd feel crazy awkward about being able to travel the entire way from Val Royeaux to Antiva City on foot. :/

I agree so much!!! If Kirkwall had been something even 1/4 as large or as bustling as one of the cities from the Assassin's Creed games, I would have been overjoyed!!

I was also pretty much relieved when bio guys confirmed it is not open, just levels are larger and more complex. That would be a killer since on one side you'd want to spend realistic amount of time traveling from Ferelden to Tevinter, on the other, that would be pretty much hiking simulator, probably boring one. I tried to walk instead of running everywhere in Skyrim to make it feel bigger but, however much I like the world, that was not fun after a while. I shouldn't have given a legitimate answer at the start of the thread, I hoped the thread could've been saved. My bitter cynicism gave way for a brief glint of optimism only for it to be crushed.
As penance, I'll just roam the desolate wasteland of DA:I forums, over-exaggerating my stance on issues and get taken seriously.

I always thougt that whatever we were missing in the world exploration department with DA games, we were getting in character exploration. And frankly, I prefer the latter though I don't mind free roaming time to time.R2s Muse wrote...
Agree with everyone here. The "open world" comment initially spooked me, but reeeally big levels excites me. Love the idea of being able to really dig in to a level. BW already puts such fun little easter eggs and details in, just imagine how fun that will be with massive space to explore!
