Amulet of the War Mage

This amulet was forged during the height of the ancient Tevinter Imperium's power, a time when entire armies would flee upon seeing a Tevinter magister stride into battle. While the name Cavellus remains engraved on its back, any memory of the magister who created it has been lost to the mists of time.

So maybe it really is Tervinter related.

The ring that is. I'm starting to think that all those rings represent different factions. Now either you're gonna have to pick one to unite with. Or you're gonna have to make sure they all play nice together. I think it's representation only, something for to get the wheels in our heads turning.

It would be really cool if after you complete a quest, like in DAO where you had to do stuff to get each group to agree to honor the treaties. Well maybe in this game, a symbol of them cooperating with you, is to give you a ring. You might need to collect them all to prove to the other factions that you have their 'ok we'll behave' type deal.

I know I might just be fishing, but you know that bioware put the image of the rings there for a reason. Then again I'm just having fun doing research

idk some ppl say its either backgrounds of ur character or companion related rings i have no clue but ya it would kinda be a difficult decision if u would have to pick one lol

Exactly. So you have a companion from each faction to have tag along with you. That person reports to the faction they are from to let them know that you're holding up your end of the bargain. So I think those rings are just symbols for the factions and people you'll be dealing with and have accompany you along your journey

le sigh why did they had to push the game sooo far away ive been waiting since da2 to play the 3rd one i know they MAY wanna take time to make it better but STILL im dying over here specially since they haven't mentioned much in the trailer just morrigan and varric i wanted to see cullen in the video no offense to those who like morrigan and varric but i don't care about them and i am also soo curious about the story idk if its based on the asunder book or not but ya i hope they come with more details soon

Wearing them as rings could also just be symbolic of the different factions in the game, but not necessarily that we or anyone else wear such rings in game.

Although I think that would be a shame. WANT!!

So I'd say the inquition insignia is a mix of seekers, templars and the circle of magi from the looks of things.

If it's free that's a bargain. I got it for £7 and I was still a bit disappointed (the previous ones were so much better).

Idk about the rings. If they represented backgrounds my only concern would be that a Seeker and Templar background would be quite similar. But if they represented some companions, that would be good.

I think some people believe the red ring represents Tevinter. I don't know what the symbol for Tevinter looks like though.

Perhaps our character will be a sort of ambassador between the factions? It would be cool if wearing the ring shows your status, and that you're politically neutral - allowing you to travel between territories. Perhaps something evil is coming, and your organisation realizes that everybody has to stand together.

Though, that would be a bit too similar to Origins, wouldn't it?

I've no idea what sort of job our Inquisitor will be carrying out, beyond trying to work out how to close that giant veil rip. I mean, you'd think that we'd have to bring people together and recruit people onto the cause, but as you said that sounds like DA:O.

... I'm certainly curious to find out more.

I'd like to say a healthy in-between but I just kind of mash him up with like 70% Origins and 20% James Caviezel and then 10% DA2 because his DA2 face is pretty much the vanilla NPC standard, and that bugs me because I really, really love how distinct his facial features are in Origins. tysandri: I prefer his DA2 model. It's weird, I always felt he looked more generic in DA:O, whereas in DA2 I could never recreate him in CC, makes me wonder if maybe he had at least one unique facial feature that isn't available for regular npcs and protagonists.

On Cullen's humor, you can get a bit of a sense from his unused companion emotes from DA:O. He does seem to have a sort of dry sense of irony. Vieralynn has them on her tumblr if someone wants to link it.

Could someone link that? I'd like to see it.

I kind of like that he's so serious though. I feel like it's a major part of his character, and it's part of what endears him to me as a character. He takes life very seriously; he doesn't joke his way out of a hard time like Alistair or Anders. If he does have a sense of humor, I think it will be on the snarkier side, sort of like Fenris' or Morrigan's; they enjoyed picking on other people, and I think Cullen has a tendency to make fun of people, too (such as the "weaving circle" comment he makes regarding the recruits). But he isn't the type to crack a joke to break the tension or anything.

I second this motion haha. It's always been the appeal of him for me to be such a genuinely honest yet restrained (I dunno if that is the right word?) individual. He exercises extreme dedication and respect for his title (friendly reminder he was the only templar to survive the terrors of the Broken Circle behind shut doors), yet at the same time keeps himself very grounded and sincere in his opinion of people despite what he's been through. I would imagine this to temper him a fairly serious, yet friendly person. He would make a small joke where it feels appropriate.

I wonder if he'd be funny without meaning to due to lack of experience of the world in general outside of the Order. For example, watching him become flustered/awkward when the group pops into a brothel would be quite amusing.

Ohhhh they do have a likeness don't they? Nice! 

As for DAO or DA2 Cullen: I will say I miss the ginger tint in his hair, but I also prefer his DA2 model.

I kinda liked GamerMD's speculation on what we would do as the Inquisitor: start off so sure of ourselves, and by the end of the game be stripped of all surity.

I like this as well. And as for R2 saying he had a dry sense of irony...I think I just fell in love even more. I love dry humor. XD

Somewhat, only that they are supposedly not going to be greedy d-bags and retract all their ridiculous restrictions and rules. Still the fact that they thought it was okay to do that stuff in the first place makes me very leery about them and less likely to invest in their future products.
